- On August 10th, 2020, my wife (Brooke Porter) went to Grimes, Iowa to pick up something from Facebook marketplace. She was not aware of the incoming storm. Our dual dash cam picked up what happened. Thankfully, just a few scratches, broken glasses and a lost stuffed animal. She apologizes in advance for any illegal driving that occurred! đŹ She was using her phone for navigation - proof: ahhyeah.com/wp-content/uploads...

@@ahhyeah they did a great job! I would of been very nervous myself!
Great job đđ» it was really intense to watch, I can just imagine how much scary moment it has been. The mom and the front kid props to you guys.
My wife was at chic fil a with my 2 year old son when this came through cedar rapids and I was at work. She had to run inside like you guys did with my son. Craziest thing that has ever happened in Iowa. I could barely get to them after the storm with all the powerlines, trees and debris on the roads. Pretty scary.
I like how they all run in the store like the world is ending, then a few people walk out casually like whatâs up with those guys?
That was the store employees coming out to help find my sonâs glasses.
@@ahhyeah wow. Thats going above and beyond â€ïž
Exactly what I said lol đ€Ł
But to be fair they didn't see the tornado
Lol exactly
And they went right back in
Pretty wild! For some reason this popped up on my feed.Glad everyone is OK.
I'm from west coast Canada and we don't get these kinds of storms or tornadoes. I have 4 kids myself and could totally see myself saying out loud, half to myself and half to my kids "what do I do?"
Some of us think better out loud and it's calming especially when you are focusing on driving with a kid freaking out.
Props to all!
Kudos to mama for keeping cool. These storms are no joke just hearing the tornado sirens is terrifying
The last kid could not get out cause the wind kept the door closing and change doors quickly no one pointed that out good for him to
I just read him your comment! He said, âThatâs nice of him!â
Wbhshahahahahahah
I was so worried about him! Thank God the mother checked the children before go away.
It was pretty funny that he fell too lol made me laugh and made my day

Kids in school: "Wanna play Yu-Gi-Oh?"
Kids in car: So the storm is coming from the east, southeast as 50 miles per hour. We should be able to outrun it.

@@ahhyeah You are an awesome mother.
Father. But thanks! đ
@@ahhyeah Woops I'm not familiar with english names since I'm from Spain.
That moms ability to stay calm in this situation is something I really respect
When this storm happened i was outside picking tomatoes on a sunny day and literally within 5 minutes the sky turned BLACK the wind started blowing and my neighbors were rushing to get their dogs inside, i went inside with my tomatoes and the storm got really bad. It was raining sideways and hailing with intense wind, we lost a pine tree and our oak trees lost so many leaves it looked like fall time in August. Even to this day you'll still find damage from the deraco, it caused really bad tree damage and destroyed grain bins.
I love how the frantically run into the store and right afterwards 3 people walk out of there super calm
But then speed walked right back in lol
Fr im like whatre they doing
Right!
The employees walked out to find the childs glasses who fell in the red shorts. It states that in another comment from the mother. Plus they were not in direct force of the wind. Like they were running from the parking lot
@@themango9644 the kid dropped his glasses. Employees went out to retrieve them for him
Mom's got some bad ass driving skills with that turnaround maneuver. And the kids... well they deployed like they were going to Chuck e Cheese. Bravo
Off to Charles Entertainement Cheese
@@annamerrie05 I don't get the point of your comment
PARADOX I was actually in this tornado/ inland hurricane and it was scary as hell. The fact that someone had to comment on the way that the mother was driving in the case of stress/ and danger is a little rude in my opinion
@@annamerrie05 It wasn't a hurricane đđ
Jamesplayz i Judy said that because in some places the winds got up to category 3-4 hurricane speeds
great job mom!!!! calm under pressure! and RIGHT in the nick of time! God bless yall.
I was in a very similar situation with my wife and infant years back. Sirens started, radio stations died, looking for any structure for cover as visibility quickly neared zero, I parked my truck on the side walk near the door of a Khol's. I used the drivers side of my truck as wind block for the glass doors of the store. Nobody gave me any grief for it. The staff welcomed us and several more in just as hail from a tornado started.
THAT OLDEST SON WAS SOOOOOO INCREDIBLE AT CALMING HIS MOTHER. she already knows she can count on him because she asked HIM "what should I do" not once but twice. Incredible story for them to look back on years from now. Strangers on the internet are praising this young man and mothers ability to keep herself and 5 children safe
Big L for the mother of all those kids tho
Yeah, this was an example of how to deal with a dangerous situation, properly. She doesn't scream or get frustrated, she makes a good decision in running it by her son, and he does an great job at being calm. Fear and panic can kill you because I think fear likely causes your decision making to revert to an emotional level which is a dangerous practice
Impressionante o auto controle da mãe com a situação.Tornado chegando crianças chorando e o que fazer? Esse menino foi demais na ajuda que deu a sua mãe.Parabens aos dois
This is why we need masculinity! â€
She was talking to herself out loud not asking the kid though? But he had a good idea and impressive that he was so calm and cool.
As a single dad of daughters , my heart goes out to this mom trying to stay cool for her kids , having her entire life in her car. My heart

Absolutely right!
@@joefranks4235 don't criticize her. Such a horrifying and complicated situation

All those boys. Turning her hair gray.
The kid in the passenger seat was the hero of that video! I love how the mom was asking the kid what she should do.
That Woman raised amazing kids, just saying
@Miguel Melchior thatâs a fire lane. Additionally something couldâve fallen on the car from the building. Iâd take a nice open parking spot during a storm like this, especially if I donât wanna get stranded in an unfamiliar town.
@Miguel Melchior shut up lol
@Miguel Melchior So what if that tornado come closer and chucked her car at them or through the window etc.? They had a much better chance being there and theyâre fine. People like you just need something to bitch about make themselves feel better.
She did a great fucking job the young men new what to do at the rite time smart fucking kid god bless them
@Miguel Melchior Ăđđđđ
I love how the people were leaving the store like, "What the hell is wrong with this crazy lady and her crying ass kids?!", and 5 seconds later was like, " OHHHHH!" đââïžđââïžđââïžđââïž
I was manager on duty in a store when this storm hit, and people looked at me like I was crazy when I directed everyone to proceed to the back of the store, away from all the front windows.... until the lights started flickering, the power cut, and the roof and windows were rattling. I couldn't believe how oblivious people were to this approaching storm. Everyone was taken by surprise. They thought maybe we'd get a light rain. I had been monitoring it for a couple of hours though and saw that it would be a big one.
edit: The tornado siren started going off, and a lady impatiently asked for my help to get a balloon bouquet. I looked at her like she was nuts.
Wouldnât you be whining too if you were scared?
Ohhh that's what happened, I was like "Where y'all going tho???"
@@mvvagner some of us Iowans have more sense than others. Thank you for being smart & taking care of your customers.

Great job mom and kids!! So thankful yâall are ok!! đđŒâ€ïž
Respect to you! I hope i can be this calm one day when im a parent and if there is a tense situation like this, you formulated a plan and the whole family executed the plan perfect in the front of danger! When i was a kid i froze when we had to go to shelter and my mom picked me up once i saw the trees nearly sideways.
Her child fell over, and she stayed to help them and nearly fell over herself. This woman is an amazing mother. My mother would have left me in the car.
LMFAOO the last part đ
