  • Live at the Rotterdam Ahoy is a live album recorded by Deep Purple
on 30 October 2000 and released in 2001. It includes most of a concert
performed in Rotterdam, Holland during the 2000/2001 "Concerto Tour".
This album certainly shows why Steve Morse earned a place with the
    greatest of the great.
When A Blind Man Cries (Gillan, Blackmore, Glover, Lord, Paice)
If you're leaving close the door.
    I'm not expecting people anymore.
Hear me grieving, I'm lying on the floor.
Whether I'm drunk or dead I really ain't too sure.
I'm a blind man, I'm a blind man and my world is pale.
When a blind man cries, Lord, you know there ain't no sadder tale.
Had a friend once in a room,
Had a good time but it ended much too soon.
In a cold month in that room
We found a reason for the things we had to do.
I'm a blind man, I'm a blind man, now my room is cold.
When a blind man cries, Lord, you know he feels it from his soul.

I came on hear to listen to my favorite version and I came across your comment. It’s also my favorite version and couldn’t find it for a bit! I lost my dad last year and my mother and rest of my family aren’t speaking to me, AND I’m a pilot :)

Ashley Yarnell I know the feeling..the best you can do is create your own family and try to forgive yourself and them...it’s not easy to go into the world..most want you to stay with them ...I had a calling that I still follow...my work is my life...but I do make room to extend my new family members...take care and be strong God is with you always

I must admit, i found this because I heard the Metallica cover...
While I love Metallica, their version could not touch this..the combination of Adagio for Strings coupled with this haunting song is absolute blues perfection. Thank you for posting this beautiful gem!
