Difference between Instrument Tech & Instrumentation and control engineer?
As a general rule of thumb, engineers focus more on the theory and design of various technologies, and technicians are more on the hands-on side. You still need solid knowledge of the machines you work with in order to be a technician, and there are some relatively hands-on engineering jobs, but that's generally how it works.
If you want to design stuff, become an engineer. If you like working with your hands, become a technician.

I knew a guy who worked on an oil rig in the Persian Gulf. He said that there were men from all over the world that worked on it, and the pay was very good. I think an Egyptian company owned that particular rig. You should try to look at oil and gas companies that have oil rigs like that. The income will be very good. OR see if any of the cruise ships have anything technical like that on them.
