Gemma is a top person, she's so lovely, I loved her tenure in the band and I'm happy to hear that she looks back with such joy. She hasn't got one bitter bone in her body.
Agree just beautiful
Brought back fond memories of following Babyshambles around the UK in 2004. They were never the same after Gemma left.
And pat his guitar playing fitted Babyshambles sound shambolic but beautiful riffs .. Manchester gig gemma pat drew pete 👍 that was the band I loved that sound
Loved the original lineup. Gemma will always be the best drummer of that band imo.
You've interviewed Pat, Adam and Gemma now 🤞 you can get Pete and Drew. That would be amazing.
Love this podcast👍
Nah get Mick Whitnall
The Babyshambles "Stone me what a life" tour of 2004 with Gemma Clarke and Patrick Walden was joyful - the Original Babyshambles. The "Up the Shambles” dvd is surviving evidence from The Ritzy Manchester and was an ambitious 8 camera edit shoot of the concert by David Kaye of RedBrickProductions - It was sad when Gemma left the band but totally understandable particularly after the Astoria riot.
Remember me and my mates got chatting to her at the bar in the Brixton Academy around 2007. Think it was one of those NME Awards tour club nights. She was so sound and friendly. We all loved Babyshambles and she was more than happy to indulge our need for backstage stories. I believe she'd recently left the band, and had bought a Campervan. Great to see her doing well.
Amazing interview. Gemma, you’re one cool cat and a great person/drummer. Babyshambles one of a kind sorta band.
Gemma is my favorite babyshambles drummer, I wish she would have stayed with them for longer, thanks for this interview Hoping for a reunion, I would fly in to the UK just to see that!
What a delight? 🤞 for Shambles reunion!
Lovely interview, really interesting, thank you.
Great interview. Gemma's ace!
Love her!!!! Representation for horsey punk girls everywhere
Certified legend
Your cool Gemma
Love your choice of interviews! Gemma pulled a runner from The Shambles!! 🏃🏽♀️💉😂. Yeah Pete lol
the XFM sessions elite, used to stream from the shambles website at house parties
also Zane Lowe sessions >
Gemma was a lot better of a drummer than Adam he's very robotic and for babyshambles you need someone that can drum along with that shambles style she should have done the album
Rooooooz!
Ohhhh, I listened to this earlier in the month but didn't realise there was a video too, and right at the start .. that Suffrajets poster .. me and my mate Dave made it for her and the band. Nice to see it moved from the old studio
Gemma's ace. She's really funny. It must have been difficult watching the band sink further into addiction.
Will there be a reunion? Haven’t heard the whole interview yet..
What happened to Pete the night of the astoria gig then?
Please get Mick on…
Could the interviewer sound any more bored? If I was her, I'd have left after about 3 mins. Dead start, will give it a chance though
He clearly hasn't prepared his questions, just going over the same ground/keeping convo flowing. Credit to Gemma for the stories, she carried this.
The original Shamble. She and Pat were such an important part of Babyshambles. I understand why she left but still, nothing but love for her.
