I remember Kele saying of Oasis that they were "Meat, multiplied by potato, to the power of gravy", which is a line I still use to this day to describe things I think are a bit dull or basic. I saw Bloc Party in '05 at Birmingham Academy just after Silent Alarm came out and thought they were incredible. I still love both bands.

NME were banging on about Coldplay and Doves in 2002 but when Libertines broke it was quite a cult thing for a while, until 'Don't look back into the sun' at least which seemed to get alot of radio play. That's when NME chose to start backing them.

How did they even find out it’s AI? If anything them using AI is actually fitting and very on brand for the voidz, given their cynical references and takes on AI in a lot of their lyrics. Either way, the cover is sick. I love it

Honestly I don't think it's that deep, so what if he used AI, the main complaint I see is that he's not supporting real artist but couldn't you say that about a ton of other situations where musicians don't hire artist for their cover art.

the "scared of new tools" tribe 😂👏 I remember being a kid and my grandparents telling me that my computer drawings and photoshop art were cool and showed my talent but they weren't willing to accept that it was real art unless it was physical and not on a screen(?) Even though 99% of media by then was on a screen. That was only back in around 2009 or so, not even that long ago we were comparing digital art to a paintbrush and canvas in a similar way but with less animosity.

As an artist and former lead singer in several bands, I couldn't care less that they've used an AI image. AI is not something I have worked with yet, though it really intrigues me, and I have been subconsciously amounting ideas for when I eventually do use it. I agree with the person who said it goes with the whole The Voidz/Julian Casablancas aesthetic; what's more him than that!?! Anyroad up, cheers for the upload!

Looking forward to the new album. The guitar sound on ‘Prophecy of the Dragon’ is amazing and the artwork looks really good. CRX’s first album was good so it would be interesting to see what they do if they come back.

New Strokes would be great - because it's already pretty great. But I'm probably more excited about new Voidz as it will be a much much much more interesting listen.

I love Julian and The Strokes but I've tried to give The Voidz a chance but just cant really get into them. I will still check it out so mabey I will be pleasantly surprised.
