2:27:11 (The second hand) one of Frank’s best soundtrack. It has that deep Cold War/post war thing so does Backstab and Voice rhythm 2.
Some heroes don't wear capes.
So much variety, funk, metal, industrial, electronic, jazz. Thats why this is my favorite ost of all time. Frank is a genius.
This soundtrack is definitely Frank's most complete work. Other soundtracks of his do specific things better, but Red Alert 1 is the GOAT because you get every aspect of Klepacki's genius in one package.
I'm glad there are other people out there who totally understand. Frank dabbles in a lot of different genres and seems to kick ass in every single one of them.
I feel he was more experimental with Tiberium Dawn, but RA1 is more varied.

@al Jaberty wrong. Some songs have 2 names. The Valley is Voice Rhythm 2, and Giant Ants is The Second Hand.

The Retaliation mix of Crush is just such a jam.

Red Alert 2 is still great as it is. I don't think it needs a remaster. Give it an official proper widescreen patch, and that's all. (maybe polish a bit on the FMVs)
I wouldn't be surprised if they remaster TibSun and RA2 in the near future

I love how it is faithfully made. One must admit his/her childhood was partly because of Frank’s music!
I remember how disappointed I was that Fogger 54:19 was omitted from the official Red Alert published soundtrack CD. The remaster/remake is incredible - one of the best chillout tracks in any game... I close my eyes and I see Ore Trucks mining ore in the snowy fields.
I heard the story behind it. It appears that Frank Klepacki lost the "source code" of the Fogger, so he couldn't produce it in a CD quality for the soundtrack release. Many years later he re-recorded the Fogger track somehow more or less close to the original and released it as mp3.
Meh, it's nothing special. Actually was always kind of depressing for me. Big Foot, Hell March, Face The Enemy 1, and Crush is where it's at.
Indeed such a vibey song. Now that I listen to it I realize i had it in my head from time to time over the last decade and always thought it's some electronic music I used to listen to haha. Best game soundtrack for sure C&C 1&2

Yeah buddy Frank's video game OST's are incredible! It doesn't really matter if it's midi or guitar or whatever genre he drops bombs!
For me, Face The Enemy 1 & 2 always have this eerie Cold War suspenses.

Do look up the C&C Red Alert Trailer. It uses Face The Enemy 1 in a perfect cinematic. As great as the intro to the game is, I wish they used the trailed in the actual game it was so good.
Frank Klepacki, one of the best composers to appear in games. I miss Westwood studios so much, man!

Just bought the game off of steam. Instant nostalgia hit me when you hear this and Tanya laughing when you click on her. LOL. Best RTS EVER!
CNC was one of if not THE first series to use not only full motion video cutscenes but a dedicated soundtrack recorded for the game
I remember being at Walmart with my dad when this game caught my eye for PS1, and he got it for me. I went home to play it and I was like "what kind of game is this?" I didn't understand it. I tried to figure it out though, and when I finally did I couldn't put the game down. I loved it, such a fantastic game. Makes me Uber nostalgic to hear this soundtrack. Leaves me with a sense of longing to be that kid again getting the game for the first time.
That was basically my story except it was C&C 64. lol Fast forward 15 years and I recreated it in the form of Tiberian Dawn Redux on an upgraded C&C Generals engine. Now I am doing the same for Red Alert.
Playing C&C on a Playstation? Must have been awkward.
The CnC Retaliation music has a special place in my CnC heart. I played it a lot on my PSX.
The Hell March & Crush remixes are best part of music from RA.

In the same boat. Played the shit out of skirmish mode even when the game would lag down to single-digits (usually due to too many "instructions" running in the game instance). Love the franchise.
Same, I used to play the game around 1998. I haven't heard the music since then. After listening to these awesome musics a few months ago I've purchased the remastered collection !

Fogger seems to be remade whereas Trenches is just remastered quality. Would have loved if Trenches received the Fogger treatment!
Fogger was remade from scratch because Frank could not find the original track anywhere in his library

I would actually prefer the opposite, if both tracks were carefully remastered in a high quality but with the original synths and sound effects. Trenches is perfect as it is. Sadly, the source code of the original Fogger, Menu theme and Snake seems to have been lost.
You can hear some In Deep (Red Alert 2 OST) vibes on this version of Snake.
Man, I forgot how much I loved Fogger. I used to play that one constantly back in the day. Here I am grooving to it all over again. I always loved the soft piano in it.

1:28:33 Mud Retaliation Remix is easily my favorite from the OST. It'd always play at the right time back then playing on the PS1. So glad the songs from Retaliation are in the Remastered game.

Love Floating and Fogger. Fogger is my favorite, I listen to it when I go out for a walk.
This was my childhood game... and I can't believe listening to them as a standalone track feels so weird without all the screaming and shouting and dying and explosions and electrocuting happening all over the place!
Floating and Fogger are just such a good mood.
Man, I've been jamming to the Magfest and the original ost before launch. Now that I ran through the game and beat the campaign, I am excited to see if EA starts remastering other titles. Tiberian Sun, Dune 2000, and of course Red Alert 2
They're going in 'generation' packs. RA2 and TA (and the expansions) will be in the next bunch, then the Generals series, CNC3 and RA3 after that... Don't think they did RA4.
Best OST ever. Just went back and beat all of the base CNC games and red alert. cnc 1-3 and red alert 1-3. Love cnc so much...

To be honest I kind of wish more tracks were remade rather than just remastered. Snake, Fogger and Await/Afterlife sound especially great now, I just wish other tracks got a similar treatment.
Intro Menu was remade too.
At 26:48, you can hear the same melodies in Dune 2 and Command and Conquer Tiberian Dawn.

If you for whatever the reason doesn't like the game, you pay the money for the OST... still worth a thousand.
God it's such a shame that they haven't managed to recover Mud and remake it, always loved that track. The rest of this soundtrack though is absolutely amazing. I love what they have done to Fogger. This... all of this... especially the amount of effort is very *very* much not like EA. And it is highly appreciated. Doesn't redeem EA of course but hey what's good is good and this is good.

Mercy is not for the weak, but for the strong. So that song got it all wrong! It is not hard to argue and fight and take revenge, but showing mercy, that requires virtue!

i'm not totally convinced with Snake 2:13:38 ... misses some sounds that were in the old version.... some crystal sounds... anyway the bass part is perfect
They've removed some sounds, by purpose.
Was almost a little off-put by Voice Rhythm 2. In the old one, the pitch seemed to slide around a little. Now it doesn't.
