As far as I know he wasn't accepting donations from non-Dutch people and pretty much ignored the non-Dutch community.

And the fact that it was Dutch was a big part of the appeal for many fans who’ve never seen or even heard of media from that country at all. I don’t understand why he would throw out so much potential like that.
