We had so many points saved up that I was able to get him Resident Evil 6 (bad choice I know) and eventually got him a xbox kinect from there as well. And even then, we still had a lot of points left..... then our baby grows up and eventually started draining the account until we were down to nothing! 🤣🤣🤣

The owner is able to pick how strong the claw is on an average play. They can then decide how many average plays are needed before the claw works at full power thus allowing the player to actually get a prize. Depending on the worth of the prize the owner can increase the amount of average games played before allowing the claw to work properly. Mark Rober made two very good videos on arcade machines and carnival games. You should CZcams them and see how the scam works

It's all computer controlled, if the machine's ready to pay out a prize you'll win, if it isn't you won't. Fruit machines are the same, making you think there are elements of skill and luck are part of the illusion designed to get you to play.
The minor prize is skill based, and up to the last one is also skill based, combined with luck. If the chip inside it decides a prize should not be released, it skips a block so you can't win on the last one

Every level except the final one is based on skill. What makes it worse is that they remove your blocks anyway even if you stack triples perfectly at some point. At the final level It has lag that activates when you hit it right on the spot, covering it up as if you pressed "too late", but trying to combat the lag by pressing too early will result in normal registration and an undershot. For the first 2 times I thought it moved too fast and my eyes weren't able to tell the real cube from the afterimages, And pressed too late, but when I tried pressing earlier for the third time, the lag was gone and It stopped right when I hit the button, missing by 1. It only took me 3 lost attempts to figure out it's unwinnable when I was 10 years old. Then I discovered that the motor that spins the spirals with the small prizes sometimes glitches out, continuing to spin and emptying out the whole rack instead of dispensing out, like in a glitched vending machine. So I repeatedly started claiming small prizes when it occured and emptied the whole thing. And another thing is that the major prizes are most likely cheap chinese replicas packed into reused original boxes anyway.

I went to an arcade in my town that wasn't some large chain and I won a gigantic bundle of tickets from the major prize of stacker my first time ever trying it. I then proceeded to do it again, and again and cleaned the machine out. I got some big ass stuffed animals that I still have to this day. The next time I went I couldn't win the machine at all, I would get to the last one and it would place it ontop then shift it off everytime.... I went home and found out that they can rig the machine and it shattered my childhood.
The arcade by me was just starting up and long story short they forgot to properly rig it... I went home with $50 and some air pods also a ban notice from the owners
Back when I used to go to the arcade I would ALWAYS look for this damn machine. It was my greatest rival in the arcade. When I would find it, it would end up taking like half my credits. Sometimes I won. Sometimes I lost. I never went for the main prize. I found grinding out tickets was more worthwhile then a random big prize as I could win more consistently without going for the jackpot. Of course this dang thing is rigged. A note to everyone: these machines run on a profit calculator that only unlocks the ability to win the prize after a certain programmed amount of plays or money is played. This prevents people winning all the high tier prizes instantly and selling them for profit.

I was around 12 when this happened but I was with my grandma in florida for a vacation and we went to this arcade place with laser tag and go karts. It was a fun af place and I wish I could see it again. I digress, one of the games was this exact game. I see one of the prizes is a Samsung VR headset. It wasnt like Oculus or anything but it was cool at the time and nothing else peaked my interest at the prize pool. So I played and played and within like a 10 or so attempts, I somehow beat it. I've hit the major prize multiple times on the big ones, because those give out tickets and not physical items. You can win on these, the odds are lower than on the bigger ones but it is possible.
These types of games where you can win big things are most likely gonna be rigged. Machines like the claw machine and these unless your in a kids like really young kids arcade place where the owner might actually want the kids to win will most likely rig it so that you can only win after a certain amount of people played it

I remember one time, I cleared out all the minor prizes once on this machine at a local arcade
Back when I used to go to the arcade I would ALWAYS look for this damn machine. It was my greatest rival in the arcade. When I would find it, it would end up taking like half my credits. Sometimes I won. Sometimes I lost. I never went for the main prize. I found grinding out tickets was more worthwhile then a random big prize as I could win more consistently without going for the jackpot. Of course this dang thing is rigged. Nowadays I just stick to some Time Crisis. But I can’t help facing my old enemy whenever I see it looming in the corner of the arcade.
I got a GPS out of one of the small Stacker Games back in 2001 when no one had GPSs.
I thought it was amazing that this thing just KNEW where it was at all times...

I know it's a shitty thing to do. but the market for arcade games is dominated by like 5 companies. so they're able to overcharge the fuck outta companies for buying these games. we had a punching bag game at the arcade I work at that costed like $10k. it's stupid. Also businesses are greedy.

It’s a fun game, as long as you’re not trying to win the top prize. The machines are “rigged” in the truest sense of the word. They’re programmed by the operator with a set amount of money that they need to take in before giving out a large prize. If that amount of money hasn’t been taken in yet, it is literally impossible to win.

I was around 12 when this happened but I was with my grandma in florida for a vacation and we went to this arcade place with laser tag and go karts. It was a fun af place and I wish I could see it again. I digress, one of the games was this exact game. I see one of the prizes is a Samsung VR headset. It wasnt like Oculus or anything but it was cool at the time and nothing else peaked my interest at the prize pool. So I played and played and within like a 10 or so attempts, I somehow beat it. And thats one of the only times I ever got lucky with these things. I played the machine a bunch more and had some reeaaally close calls but no dice. Now reading through these comments and realizing how they work based on profit, yea that checks as one of my luckiest moments in life ever.

I've hit the major prize multiple times on the big ones, because those give out tickets and not physical items. You can win on these, the odds are lower than on the bigger ones but it is possible.

These types of games where you can win big things are most likely gonna be rigged. Machines like the claw machine and these unless your in a kids like really young kids arcade place where the owner might actually want the kids to win will most likely rig it so that you can only win after a certain amount of people played it
