To sum up this video and answer the question, is this the best electric reel? I would say that depends what you need an electric reel for. If you're deep dropping in less than 900 ft of water and don't plan on using more than a 8lb weight then I would say the Kaigen Banax 1000 is the best electric reel for deep dropping.
I also think the Banax 1000 is the best electric reel for wahoo trolling if you ever plan on wahoo trolling with an electric reel. I go high speed trolling solo sometimes and having the Kaigen Banax 1000 electric reel to help reel the fish in while I drive the boat is a huge help.
If you plan on daytime swordfishing dropping 10-12lbs of lead down 1500-1800ft then I don't think this electric reel is right for you. You will probably need to spend closer to $2000-5000 for an electric reel for swordfishing.
But if you're looking for a great priced electric fishing reel under $1000 or in this case the banax 1000 is under $700 and you don't plan on targeting 600lb swordfish down 1700ft then the Kaigen Banax 1000 is the best electric reel for you.
In this electric reel review video I will also show you how to use it. How to use an electric reel, the price, features, why I like it over other reels and where to buy the best electric reel.
Btw, the Banax 1000 is an electric fishing reel. Hopefully this has helped you in deciding on the best electric reel for deep dropping. If you have any questions about electric reels in general or the Kaigen Banax 1000 electric fishing reel in specific leave a question as a comment below this electric fishing reel review video!

You remind me of John Maxwell. He's got a Harley Davidson mechanic/motorcycle gear and bikes channel and his tag line is, "I'm a highly trained unprofessional." He has the same off-hand delivery and dry humor that makes you feel like you're sitting in the shop having a brew and shooting the shit. That's the kind of thing that makes people look forward to long-form videos. The videos where you want to inform or teach something are always short. I don't know if you do that on purpose or not, but it is absolutely perfect. As a former professional video producer for television, I am impressed by your style. It is subtle and I suspect you put more research into it than one might think.
Awesome video! Totally buying my hubby one for Christmas! Love to see y’all using the cups I made and sent ya !! 🤙🏼🍻
Thank you for great videos! Keep up the great work
Great review and video! I am ready to get mine.
Good to see you are feeling better
You have come so far since you started and for reference I was one of your first 300 subs when you used to be this guy who failed more often than not. Now you your abilities have increased to the point that you actually are a a person to listen too.
Ps. please excuse the grammar as it's late.
I watched the whole video and I’m not even into buying this kind of reel😂 you are good at this! Keep up the good work👍🏽
Thanks for the great video. I just got back from Alaska and we used the 1000 everyday. We pulled up 40-100 pound Halibut for days on end. On the biggest Halibut it struggled a bit and did get hot but it preformed like a pro. The only thing I did not like was it measured in meters instead of feet. Not sure if that can be changed or not.
My guide told me he pays around $600 for them with his guide discount. Seems like a steal even for $650. We also used the Daiwa Tanacom 1000 a few times, but everyone in our group liked the BK-1000 the best. Another thing, I was amazed at how light this reel is. I have a few Miya Epoch reels that are literally 5 times or more heavier.
This video was great 👍 you had great information
LOL, cool video as always. Like the reviews you do!
Why am I watching this with my $25 dollar reel 💀
I can't say more than your video was super amazing and helpful in thinking of buying an electric reel thank you so much for your time god bless
Great Review Heiko..
Great timing! I just bought two of them a couple of weeks ago!! I'm looking forward to using them and I appreciate your tips and hints!!
I've been looking at electric reels. Bass Pro only has a Shimano on line, and only 1! I was about to pull the trigger. It is almost 2x the cost. So good news I'll look at the banax. Big help , great info. Thanks as always.
Ever think of one of those long range trips out to Pulley Ridge?
Great video. Question, have you used the high speed setting? And if yes, what is your take on it?
Thank you for this video.
Great video man. I was expecting the price to be a lot more. Pleasantly surprised.
Great video . Thank u. We are looking at an electric reel and set up for planer fishing and would appreciate your insight .
Great video. Very informative. How long does the battery last?
Very good vdeo for all new biginner for deepsea bottom gme full of motivation forbelectric reel👍👍👍
Excellent Content!!!
You can't beat the Banax for quality, price and service. There other more expensive reels on the market but if you are deep dropping for snappers, tile fish, Amberjacks, they can handle them. I have 5 on my boat, won't leave home without them 🎉
Heiko you inspired me to buy the Tanacom 1000 about a year ago. I love it and have not had a single issue with it. If I decide to purchase a second electric it will most likely be a Banex 1000. I love your videos and trust your opinion. I live up in Jax and deep drop territory is about a 100 to 120 mile ride one way. I have been pulling my boat to Lantana / Boynton to deep drop. It would be wonderful if you could do a technical video on the deep drop process. Most videos dont show more than fish floating up. Thanks for you and Caitlins vids!!! Be healthy and more please.
Buen video amigo , es un buen carrete. Una pregunta , hay alguna solución para cuando suba no se quede en 6 metros la linea y después hay que subirla Manualmente. gracias
Great video!
I think I was the one that told you about that rod and reel combo. Frigate Sales, Great to do business with. A really nice reel. What knot did you use to connect your top shot to your main ling? I have had great success with the FG knot. I hung up on a wreck once. I pulled a 27' Gradywhite around with that combo thinking a had a large grouper on. I finally had to wrap the line around a cleat to try to break it. Well, the FG knot held. A dropper loop broke. We also caught a white marlin with this combo!
Very informative I'm going out to pulley Ridge I'm going to buy one of those reels thanks
Great video. How well do you like your Banax 1000 now 2 years later?
Is this reel better than the Daiwa Tanacom 1000 in your opinion? Awesome video and thanks for the review!
thanks for the video, because of right now I am price shopping for an electric reel, oh and do you use the lee melting pot, I was thinking about getting one to make my own weights, Is it worth it?
Have 3 of them, have put them to use and caught some nice fish.
What knot do you find strongest for joining braid to topshot ?
is that the only plug they use on the cord, or can you get the 12 volt outlet plug?
Great video, thank you for sharing... The Kaigen guys should be getting you something, I bought mine from your link.
Guys that's great but keep them up n keep them lubed up. They are good. I use commercial teals n they are bigger take up a lot space. Bandit reels but these are good. Good video Heiko.
Great video with real information. If the battery is dead or you've over heated...how much line is retrieved per crank? Have not seen this one piece of info anywhere? Looks like I might be trading in some reels.
Hey I want to know do you still use the Penn Reel 209 when you go fishing on your boat
Hey where do you order up the banex x1000 with the line already on it
I own 1 and have used it for 4 years no issues so far.
Will the Abyss Battery “Thermos” style work with it?
Thanks.. 🤗
Very nice/imformative video Heiko sir,Thanks. Just a thought maybe have Ms. Caitlyn reel with motor & with out while you film. Happy Thanksgiving,Hope You both & yours had a good one & a fun, good, safe, fishing as well as everyday. Am curious with your rod can you get it straight without the bend in it?? As well as with the mounts that come with the reel,Can it be attached to like a freshwater trolling rod or only certain rods?? Thanks in advance. Thanks as well for the little tip on battery as well.
Just 1 more quick question. On the battery could it be used with like a 12v 9amp battery instead of bigger battery like yours? Thanks in advance sir.
Hey, so have you got tht e1500 yet? hard to find any reviews about it.....you going to drop a 1500 review ?
What is the amperage of that battery you used it looks like it's 80 amps and what is the draw of the real in amperage my guess it is 12 volts battery
Anyone have a Banax 7000 BM. Got one when i bought a whole garage full of tackle. I cant find anything on it or what size fish its good for.
Great video on the reel.. lets see some coconut crusted snowys now. Cheers 🍻
nice snowing in the largo 24/7 fishing now
Nice video. Excellent content. Just subscribed to your channel...
Love that banax..been using mine for a couple years. Keep rocking that shit good sir Heiko. Have a couple videos on my page using it for tiles about 1100ft down.
Can we get a more recent update on how the banax is holding up? Trying to get an electric reel that i can deep drop and possibly fish for swords with, but dont want to go broke doing it. Was looking at the 1000 and the 1500
nice video Heiko , are you going to have one like this in your next giveaway??? Keep up the good work!
What is you Opinion about BANEX 1500 TM for Swordfish? Does pay the Price? Thank you
My kaigen 1000 cable is lost.which cable suitable - daiwa or shimano?
Sweet rig
Looks like I am going shopping :-)
What’s the link to order the package reel / rod / line
Heiko, I could see the rod and reel combo just fine. Now your mug was in the shadows but who cares about that! ;)
Where can I find one?
I love the video want to know about banax kaigen 1500
Nice review. . the studio lights didn't make a lot of difference in the end. Good job.
Great tutorial on electric reels HEIKO ✌️😃need something positive with all the chaos here in Philly
Hope yall made it through the storm ok!!
Gotta try the 1500
Just bought one with your link 990$. Thanks
As much as I love the banax, the greatest electric reel is an lp1200, we used them for green stick tuna fishing and they are absolute tanks, but the price is borderline insane
Of course no one can debate that but it’s not made for the same thing LPs are for bigger fish these are made for snapper and grouper and tilefish.
I bought two of them to put on my crappie rods!
Thanks for the review! I'm thinking of buying an electric reel for my old man and I have been considering the Banax. The old fellow and his mates go fishing regularly (3-4 days week) and target the big (50-70 lbs) wreckfish, do you think this can handle the job regularly?
Yea I love the Banax, should put in the work!
@@SouthFloridaFishingChannel what can’t you catch with electric reel is there something to watch out for. Mainly fishing in Southern California
Heiko, first off, your lights were great never really needed the studio lights. Second, that is really cheap for that reel. great buy.. but its still out of my price range. I'll put it on my 2022 xmas list. Now what i like to see if you put a extra 50 lb weight for the fish and then reel it up. is there a difference.? As always, great material and videos..
Power Cord Question: since you have owned a Daiwa Tanacom and a Banax: does the Daiwa power cord/cable work on the Banax?
yes it does. Not as good but it will work in a pinch
I really like this one it was very educational you should take the time to show how to tie the rigs like you just did in this video rather than on a boat and just doing it I like your videos I think you and your girl are awesome
You should try to flea markets I know the flea market in New Jersey on route 33 has some really great prices on electric grills you could have bought combos for like $200 it's worth it to check out flea markets
Dude I love your vids. You honestly and aspirations and hope all is well. God Bless you guys and you guys are honestly the best. Maybe one day we can go on a fishing trip.
hi , how much for one
$ 599.00 is a steal, I just set myself up this year with a new Lexa 400 lefty that was over $300.00 , and its just Musky reel without line , Just sayen, That's a lot of reel for the price, Hopefully someday I will have a couple for some deep dropping.
What model lexa did you get that was 300 my 400 wn was 250
@@239peytonn7 was the 400 lefty 6.3 ratio I think
Great demo 👍 ppl just dont get what its like trying to crank that much weight. I here ppl say c-mon hand crank it like a man🤣🤣 i like ok there Arnold calm down im here to fish not workout my biceps 💪 🤣🤣.
Thanks Heiko and Caitlyn, excellent job. You could do these on all your rods. I probably would like to see a Penn vs Shimano grouper reel & rod comparison . Got my but kicked on some Hogfish with my Penn 5000 last weekend, lol.
hay does catlyn still work at hooters , have nots sen her a while ?
Great Video!!!! Im looking to buy an electric reel that won’t break the bank, are you still enjoying your banax 1000 reels? Thanks
Yea I love em!
When you show yourself hand cranking from behind looking out towards the water, i thought your boat sunk lol. Scared me bro lol
Well that looks fun lol
Dude I'm ready to move to Florida!!!!!
Nice
I've owned and used banax 1000, shimano force master 9000, shimano sls6000, shimano 4000hp, shimano tm3000h , electramate 620xp,precision (de-hooker) high torque version, daiwa tanacom 750,daiwa seaborg 12000j , and miya epoch command 4c-5sc
My go to reel out of all the above is the shimano force master 9000 , a lot of power, a lot of smooth drag, quiet, fast , big line capacity, pulled about 10-11' shark from 700' deep, no issues. The banax 1000 is my next choice, half the price of the FM 9000 , big line capacity, smooth drag , not as quiet and fast as the FM 9000 , the rest are fine with the tanacom 1000 being the worst I've seen, the electric cord on all of them is a weak point, the question is not if the cord will fail, it is when it's going to fail. About $80-90 for the shimano cord, $ 45-55 for the banax , I suggest you buy an extra power cord when you buy a new reel, good luck fishing !
Hi, i need help pls.my kaigen power cable lost.so which cable suitable witg kaigen 1000.daiwa or shimano.u have lot of machine.could you answer me pls?
I just got Japanese reel shimano 3000 manual in Japanese what a bad mistake. Will the 1000 pull a 100 pound butt fishing 400 ft.
Hi Cote, just to let you know never use your thumb to guide the wind down to the bottom just simply loosen up on the drag until the weed starts flowing at a decent rate. That is the way to do it. There is a new real out the day Iowa 1000 check that one out baby is the best thing that ever hit the market and I also want to know about that real you said it was experimental with a battery screwed into the bottom of the real. Please get back to me and let me know I’ll buy a couple of them without a doubt thank you.
is this the same as banax 7000cp
You need Kevlar line for that bad boy!
Review the new Saragossa 6000
Would this be good to get multiple 20 to 30 pound snowies in 800 foot?
Heck yea!
@@SouthFloridaFishingChannel hay reiko can i buy ur largo snow , what up
Heiko this reel can’t bring in a swordfish? Is this because of the max drag or the engine’s power?
I mean in theory it probably could but if you spend a few trips dropping 12lb lead down 1700 ft that's a lot of strain on the drag and engine always pulling it back up
@@SouthFloridaFishingChannel I see. Thanks for the reply!
You best vent that lead pot!
Can you show us beginners how to read a fish finder and or plotters I can’t seem to get any one to do that. I want to rig my new boat right but don’t know for sure what I’m looking for
Yea I'll put something together for that
@@SouthFloridaFishingChannel nice rekio high five
Joe sir. You should be able to get instructional video on company/brand finder/plotter I would think.
Thank you Ron Lier I went straight to simrad and ordered I hope I got it right
Yvmw sir. I personally would 1st tried to get website, then a number, called that way make sure what you need. Hope it works out for you. Best of luck & tight lines.
Heiko one advice please don’t let the line past the line guide it messes up your line alignment and it will tear up your line guide spiral gears
Yessssssssss
Can you change it from meters to feet??
I think there might be a way in the newer models but not sure
I've been watching your show for some time those things are pretty expensive they should come with like a warranty or something
👌👌
Have you even tried them swordfishing
Anyone has any used ones wanting to sell?
would prefer to see those reels with lever drag instead of star drag.
❤️
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The Banax 1500 is suitable for swordfish. I think it's around $1300
Can you use the Banax1000 as a kite reel?
yup!
@@SouthFloridaFishingChannel Thanks for the reply
Can a swivel go through the line guide ?
