Notes: 02/05/2022 (nearly 4 weeks later)
Here are my dislikes about the Garmin vivomove style after 27 days:
1. there is no airplane mode
2. there is no treadmill or row machine workout
3. there is no "sleep score"
4. this gadget fails to track sleep
5. it doesn't tell you the battery percentage unless you install the one watchface
6. watchfaces - there need to be more
7. there is no easy way to lock the screen
8. TBD
9. TBA
10. TBD
11. TBA
My pros about this wearable:
1. light and comfortable to wear
2. it has a great style
3. it is easy to use
4. Garmin pay - hooray for one less thing in my wallet!
5. heart-rate broadcasting
6. auto-brightness
7. swim workout tracking
8. battery life is 5 days
9. vibration motor is pretty nice
10. TBD
11. TBA
I should have my lists finished by the time I make my next Garmin vivomove style follow-up video.

Hi! Thank you for the review! I know it's been made years ago, but I was hoping you could help me with an answer: does the absence the treadmill workout mean that this watch won't be able to track steps on a treadmill? Thank you!
@BigEGOplc93 Sorry, but I don’t think that watch would tell you the step count during the workout. And inside the workout details Garmin doesn’t include the step count in any workout.
@@PeterHerget thank you!
Loved your suit jacket in the opening scene - nice review about the Garmin hybrid!
Glad you enjoyed it for I felt this watch needed a different approach. And I wanted to showcase how it looked with a long sleeve dress shirt.
Great video. Good thing Garmin started standardizing their chargers. Too bad not everyone uses the same one
Very true and I am really hoping Garmin adapts the Qi wireless protocols for that would save a TON of room in my backpack when I am traveling with my five favorite wearables 😁👍
Hybrid watches and hybrid smartwatches, yes, they definitely are a niche market for many people. I think I prefer the Garmin vivoactive, Fenix, or the Instinct series.
There is a special market for hybrid watches and I can see why people buy them, and yes, I feel the same way - I prefer my Garmin Fenix or Apple Watch.
Nice jacket!
Thank you - it was a gift years ago...
I got the battery percentage by changing watch face items. Also just small note the vivomove 3 is slightly cheaper than style and only has the bottom display vs the style with 2 displays. (Also the placement of the Garmin name on the watch face is on top for the 3 and on the left for style). I think those are the only differences.
But good video my friend
Edit: not sure if it is new but my scanwatch actually logged a nap for me today. Can send a screenshot if you'd like to see what it looks like
Thanks Cliff! So, in a way the vivomove style that I am wearing is slightly better than the vivomove 3, correct?
@@PeterHerget yes. I think the same features but 2 displays on style
Very cool to know - grazie mille! I am enjoying the watch. I do wish the battery life was a little better.
I must have missed this part... Your Withings ScanWatch detected a nap? I've tried nap testing with my mine at least a dozen times with not success. Yes, please sent me screenshots via Facebook.
Thanks a lot! You are amazing !
And you are... welcome!
Hello , i have questions on you. Can you tell me, if vivomove style can receive notifications from google maps? Like "100 meters turn left" ? ...and another question...Have notifications from phone different icons? Like icon for gmail, icon for messenger etc? I have vivomove hr and these functions are missing :(
Those were... great 👍 questions. I am working on a follow-up video about the Garmin vivomove style and I will do a little testing and answer your questions in the video.
I answered your questions with a video: czcams.com/video/yVmBYm7EMZg/video.html
is it possible to turn off bluetooth pairing with the vivomove style?
Yes, it did have a Bluetooth disconnect, but it took several clicks
The Garmin vivomove style was a great smartphone except for the following:
1. no easy-to-use Airplane Mode
2. battery life was just okay at four to six days
3. the touchscreen was not that great
4. screen was difficult to read outside
5. it needs one button like those analog watches you see millions of people still wearing
6. there is no way to turn it off when not in use because, you have four other watches you would rather wear
Garmin released another version of this model and they called it, "vivomove TREND" and it had all of the same problems except the following:
Garmin vivomove Trend
1. failed to have an off button or link
2. failed to have an easy-to-access Airplane Mode
3. brightness indicator worked okay, but I normally would just crank up the brightness to a level 5 before an outdoor workout
4. screen sensitivity & touch navigation was brilliant
5. it came with Qi compatible wireless charging - awesome!
6. no colour screen, Garmin decided to return to monochrome
7. screen visibility & pixel resolution - much improved over the vivomove Style
8. the vivomove TREND has one large touchscreen instead of two separate screens - easy to navigate & control
9. Garmin forgot to watch my review and failed to add just one button. If they were to engineer a scroll wheel & button similar to the Apple Watch 3, yes, the Garmin vivomove Trend would sell another 740,999 units.
