    Having a bar that faces the ice is cool. I like how they said they're trying to give it as much of a feel as the coliseum as possible. I'm a sabres fan and although our arena is only 24 years old now(time flies) it doesn't feel as intimate as the aud felt. I've only been to the aud a few times because I was only a kid still in it's final years but it was so different and felt special. Id imagine it's how isle fans feel about the coliseum. You become attached to your building.

      They tried doing that. It was called the “Lighthouse Project.” But Kate Murray shot it all down. She was the Town of Hempstead Supervisor in 2011 and was the sole reason why the Lighthouse Project fell through. She was the sole reason they were forced to pretty much relocate to Brooklyn. If it wasn’t for Charles Wang (the previous majority owner) then the franchise probably would’ve been relocated to either Kansas City or Quebec City. He did all he could to keep the team where they belong.

      That is a question to be directed towards the Town of Hempstead. They had opportunities to build on the Coliseum site over the years but local politics got in the way.

      I've been saying that ad nauseum!!! It made more sense to build nearby the old Coliseum due to ample parking plus the area could be redeveloped for housing if they wanted to but no! Build next to the NYC border and if the Isles have such a strong fan base, why did they build next to the NYC border rather than the center of the fan base, which was in Uniondale?

    The last NHL arena built was Little Ceasars Arena at close to $1 billion. Not T-mobile arena. And the clubs could be a mistake if not managed correctly. People tend just watch the game from the clubs instead of sitting in their seats and it makes the arena look empty lol

    Who in the hell would pay to watch these minor league clowns. Barzel looks like a kid who wants to play with his much older brother. Pushed off the puck like a girl. Or pass it to Eberly! He hasn't hit the net since juniors. Should call it "NOT GOOD ENOUGH ARENA" and play the fans to show up. (Embarrassing long island since 1984)

      Who in the he'll wants to hear or see from you. The two players you mention have accomplished more in life than you have. The team is getting a upgrade, and is on the upclimb. Who do you root for let's rip them apart, or we can stick with your useless self.

      Still more useful than you will ever amount to.
      Lee being out does hurt just like any other team losing a player you are not breaking any news here bud.
      Hall would have been a nice addition, and your only accurate statement is that ownership has cheaped out in the past, but throwing money or draft picks at everyone is not a guarantee successful formula.

      @@jopochapo really after all that you think I'm not an islander fan. I'm a sick and tired isles fan. Done with, OT, 1 goal games, no goal support, missing the net, not SHOOTING THE GOD DAMN PUCK, awful power play, end of season losing streaks, under size players in the toughest division in hockey, DONE. You can not be in the mix every year just to fall flat. Sorry management has to get the core players on this team something to work with. Eberley, Zajack, and some defenseman from Tampa are not going to cut it. You have to play perfect every night to compete, and that just can't happen. The forth line alone doesn't deserve that. They break their ass everyday for nothing.

    • @jopochapo
      @jopochapo Před 3 lety

      @@josephzummo9685 I agree with you again on half of these points, but the other half of them are just Hockey, there will always be OT, close games ( would be nice to see some explosion from the offense tho ) and playing perfect in the playoffs thats what it takes to win. They can't control who go added to their division along with who's already there. We get enough bashing from others we don't need it internally from our own. While some size would help in some aspects as long as they are tough enough to keep up physically size is relative, but yes some changes in the off season and philosophy would be needed no matter what happens theses next few games.
