Imagine if Eric Moore was in Slipknot....😮
When “the impossible drumming of I Prevail” will be out? 😁🤘
exelet vidie
joeys “eyeless” performance will be remembered forever
That video of that perfomance was the first time i was like WHAAAAAT
The slipknot drummer firing joke is nuts.💀
😅😅
@@DrumBeatsOnline Dont laugh its also disrespectful. RIP Joey.
@@marcusgarcia504take a joke.
@@nakathehyena9539 a joke needs humor. There was none there. Just a laughing emoji. Gtfoh.
@@marcusgarcia504You must ride the short bus
Having a Y in your name is also mandatory
Good point!
Cool observation 😁
must be last letter in first name
I have a Y in my name
My brother has a Y in his last name and he's a drummer so maybe he should audition for them 🤷🏻♀️🤣
Jay is taking so much hate from the fan base right now. Everyone is on the Eloy train. Don’t get me wrong the guy is a prodigy. But I feel like Jay deserves a lot of credit for picking up where Joey left off. And I’m sure Eloy will do the same.
Couldn't agree more. People just wanna nit-pick.
That and slipknot fans will flip flop on a dime if needed..
I love how Eloy fanboys are talking about Jay not playing in tempo… dudes Joey was known for playing too fast live lol
That’s because he’s an asshole.
@Eirik36 They're starting to become insufferable. Acting like Eloy is the greatest thing to happen to the band. Completely disregarded the legacy that Joey and Jay had. Don't get me wrong, I've always liked Eloy. He makes Slipknot sound pretty good live! But it's starting to become toxic at this point. Dude doesn't even play with two single pedals, yet has four bass drums. Like come on man.
I was expecting Eloy Casagrande in this video, he has the power and technique to be the next Joey.
Filmed this video before the news came out 😅
I’ll most likely do a full breakdown of Eloys drumming in a separate video!
LOL, technically (drumming technique) Eloy is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY BETTER than Joey, however, Joey created this style almost, so he is a very influential drummer, however Eloy can play ANYTHING, Joey was a great metal drummer, Eloy is a great MUSICIAN....
@@GeorgeeJunglee Yep, thats right. People are crazy seeing Eloy at Slipknot but they dont know that Slipknot songs its nothing compared to his ability and skills to play any genre and especially native Brazilian rhythms w metal.
Eloy has clearly been influenced by Joey in his playing as well. He's a huge maggot - his cover videos speak for themselves.
We can wait until we have more professional material. Make this kind of analizing with videos filmed only by cellphones will result in a poor video.
First 3 albums of Slipknot are the best. I used to love them back in the day. I remember dancing like mad with my mates in my room to their songs.. geaat times.
Dude, you don't dance to Slipknot. You mosh..
Eloy is here, so old Slipknot is back
“The coolest parts are not always the best parts”.
Preach!
Dude you gotta make an “Eloy” video
💯
é do Brasil!
You’ve got it!!
I'm pretty sure there is a video about Eloy in the making from this channel. Its gonna talk about the same thing paraphrased over and over for like 15 mins or something. Haha
I do believe it is as much of a situation similar to having to pass the torch from The Rev. And now Eloy being the drummer makes me wonder how the band will progress in sound! So excited
I hear you! I think Eloy will crush it
Only someone who has never played a double pedal (or maybe drums) can say that « it’s cheating » 🤦♀️
Great video 😊
The "you never stop learning" thing is true in every creative area, not only music. There's always a way to improve.
Petition to raise charges for snareslaughter ❤🥁
Joey's headbanging while playing drums is so spectacular!!
Right! The way he did the windmill perfectly in sync with the music while playing was awesome
Joey was a master of his craft and the one drummer that inspired me to pick up the sticks. May he rest in peace.
One thing I noticed about Joey, if you slow down an isolated drum track of his when he was in slipknot, his beats are so groovy.
They really are....he never gets credit for that
and if you do the same for Jay Whine-burg, you'll see how off time he was. Eloy is the biggest upgrade, ever. Easily as good as Joey, if not even better. Who knows how Joey would have been if he were still here and never had health issues but right now at this moment in time, Eloy is incredible.
As a drummer and video editor, this video was SICK 💯🥁
I spent the last 3 and a half years studying with Eloy Casagrande here in Brazil (I was his longest time student) and I'm sure he's more than the next Joey, he'll be the best ever.
THE POOR SNARE HEAD MAN
RIP drum head and drumsticks that gave their lives to make this video happen
Joey. Always.
Watching him fill the slot of Lars at Download 2004 was fucking perfect.
I dont think Jay did anything better than Joey. Nothing wrong with Jay, he was adequate and could play the parts...but I wouldn't say he did them any better. He was as average as a band as big as Slipknot could get away with. That Eloy tho...he is a beast, I have no doubt Slipknot got the most technically superior drummer they could find, probably the best in every single caregory out of the 3 drummers. We been following this drummer for many years now. I will always miss Joey RIP, he is in more than one way irreplaceable.
Gabe, you are such a fabulous storyteller / video editor. Your videos are exceptional and incredibly engaging, I especially enjoy the hell out of your I Prevail POV tour videos but these are super fun & high value too. You inspire me to keep growing both as a musician and as a content creator. Fire!
I really appreciate that. Thanks for the kind words my friend 🙏🏽
Bro. These videos do not apply only to drums. Any musician could learn from these valuable pieces of knowledge. I truly appreciate this channel
Gabe this breakdown is fantastic!! I put down the kit years ago and picked it back up a few months ago as my hobby/therapy. I love the insights you are giving. It really helps the mental aspect of building my ability. A major take away from this one: who believes double kick is cheating?? Those folks are crazy.
So glad that you’ve gotten back into drumming! I’m happy to help!!
I’ve been hearing the “cheating” conversation for WAYYY too long.
this editing is off the charts!
Your videos have helped me improve so much over the past year! Thanks so much, so glad you’re coming to Wichita with I Prevail! Definitely going to try to get tickets! ❤❤❤
Yes, we wanna see a Eloy breakdown.
These Videos are always super helpful!
This is the Video i was looking for for a long time 😃 thanks
been waiting for this video, the drummer of one of my favorite bands, making a video about drummers from my favorite band! going to see I prevail and slipknot this summer!
This actually opened my eyes and mind into exploring more into how to become Joey when I play, thank you Gabe!
Joey was something else back then man I’m sad he passed
No snare drum was harmed in the making of this video
Try and rate Dale Crover's drumming from '87 to '93. He's a drummer that never gets mentioned within the mainstream context.
He was wild, super powerful, inventive. Pure magician with the drums. There's no one like him.
I think that eloy is such a mystery to North American and European people, because they do not have the cultural baggage to understand the Latin American groove, such as the brazilian.
Besides being a technical genius, he incorporates the brazilian rhythms with his metal drumming, last guy that did this was Igor Cavalera.
we gotta stop with this "slipknot fires all their drummers" shit. Joey wasn't fired. he suffered from transverse myelitis and it made his playing extremely difficult towards the end of his time with the band. that's why he left. because of his health.
Joey is the KING! P.S we see us in Hamburg Germany. Hope Brian recovers well and we rock the show for him
See you soon!
Hey! I love these deep dive videos into different drummers! Keep them coming!
As a guitarist this video is also motivating and really instructive because most of the stuff that has been talked in this video also apply to any musician.
Thank you. This was amazing insight
Incredible job😊
Joey just has this eerie aura about him and the way he moves/plays. I can't put my finger on it.
With all that said: easy peasy for Mr. Casagrande, the most robust and skilled of the three drummers.
the eloy circlejerk is so weird.
Finally someone who sees it. Joey's Chaos is what made him so amating. Especially on the debut album.
i’m not a drummer but an artist, & this video was still extremely beneficial and mostly everything will be kept in mind
reclucid all platforms btw, gotta self plug
You're I Prevail's drummer? I saw you live, you're crazy dude!
Eloy vai salvar o Slipknot! Seu momento finalmente chegou!🙌🏻🇧🇷🥁
I would have so much fun playing slipknot and I would do it so easily
New to the channel here!
You are great man! I wish i had the money to get DBO Academy but for now i dont... :( But ur free lessons are great aswell! :D Will def. come back when i got the money for DBO! :)
Thank you Gabe!
It's a reason Joey took his main inspiration from Norwegian Black Metal.
Drummers in this genre are just fucking insane on the kit
why am i here i play BASS
Do you play double bass?
i love your band I prevail you are my favourite drummer and i love song Gasoline and more of stuffs from you you are absolutely legend
Can't wait to see you guys for the first time when you come to Australia in September.
Gah I miss Joey . I did like Jay , but Eloy seems like an epic fit, that first show that got posted the other day made me say WOW! I haven’t been that pumped for slipknot since Vol. 3
i have been waiting for this one
Eloy even plays samba-jazz!!! And it's not joke. There is video showing that! 😎
12:00 this is one of the main pillars of stoicism, to view bad things that happen to us not as unfortunate, as unlucky, as bad, but as an opportunity to grow, to learn and to toughen ourselves up.
Facts. Great video🤘🏼
Joey did not get fired. He IS SLIPKNOT
Drummer of slipknot: this is too hard
El Estepario: hold my beer
No need that mofo can hold it himself and still drum the part
BRO who edits your videos? so good!!!
Even as a vocalist this is super helpful for doing vocals
I love how travis always asks you for advice 🤣❤
I never was a fan of slipknot. It had to with the drummers they’ve had. As a very young drummer I played Hispanic/Mexican genres with the family band. Then I heard Black Sabbath and a lot changed for my playing. IMHO Eloy’s playing is WORLDS beyond what slipknots prior drummers could try and do. I’m interested in what Eloy will do for slipknot. And now… I expect the haters who will disagree with my comment, to throw their hate. Aaaand go!!!
It’s crazy that your channel is the one that inspires me the most to play, and i play guitar not drums😂😂
Haha that’s incredible
Thx for doing this video. Can we do Patrick Galente next?
THE BEST LIVE DRUM SET UP FOR ME IS FROM SLIPKNOT LIVE DOWNLOAD 2009 WHEN JOEY USED TO PLAY THE RETRO SNARE AND IT WAS VERY DELIGHT.
woooooow,finally about Slipknot drummer 🤘🤘🤘
All of them are geniuses
Hulk mode could be called Eloy mode haha
"Whats is this obstacles teaching me?" "You are not good enough, giveup"
I will say based on what I’ve seen Eloy totally goes hulk mode
I don’t think it’s fair to treat firing jay and joey as the same.
Great lesson ! 🥁 🪘 🛢
Joey is not fired, he’s leg was injured
Nobody can replace Joey as a songwriter, but it kind irks me when some (not saying you) people act like no-one can ever be as good as him on a technical level, especially live. I'm guessing it's because most people steer clear of subgenres like prog and death metal, which have the most technically and stamina focused drummers usually. But for example, give this task of playing slipknot to george kolias, he'd absolutely annihilate. Same with Austian archey, Anthony barone, etc. I say this as someone who's seen these bands in concert several times. The slipknot fanbase has a tendency of hating on anything new. I'm happy they seem to be accepting Eloy though, he's absolutely one of the best most proficient drummers in the world. This all being said though, like I said in the beginning of my comment Joey played an integral part in writing those first 3, easily best records, and I still think AHIG is far above their later records. Him and Paul wrote A LOT of the stuff on Iowa, and you can tell, it's still my favorite record for this reason.
We miss you joey !
The lessons learned about this video can be used for anything
Slipknot is easily top 5 bands for me, Joey's drumming is insanely fun to listen to and play. If you guys have an E-kit, download Clone Hero ASAP, ton of good Slipknot songs on there to play
All these points are suitable for any hobby. Discipline, getting over the fear of failure, desire to improve your skills - you mentioned this very well.
And what a good video I need to say🤌
Eloy Casagrande criará partes de baterias mais fodas de toda a história do Slipknot! Já estão criando novas músicas!
We always did that in my bands. Play the set twice and it was extreme metal so was hard work, and the would do 2 hours of working on new stuff. It was hardwork and we did it twice a week and then went to 4 times a week. The set became easy live.
Chaos = Basically overplay everything 🎉😂 rip to him, I love it. Disasterpiece is a favorite Gabe 🎉 hi from another Gabe lol
Man I'm not even a drummer and i feel like i learned something in this video😅
I’m wondering on which technique did Slipknot used that let them to join Eloy’s band?
Should do a video like this for KoRn's drummers David Silveria and Ray Luzier!!
Rest in peace king Joey.
he is a guitarist basically and turned to a drummer. he knows how to support the vocals with his drums. this makes the difference. he supports every vowel and ... the other thing i dont know the word... this makes the difference
Maybe do a system of a down drummer review next?
Can get a RIP for joey without him Slipknot wouldnt have the music we all know and love
When Jay joined Slipknot for first time, everyone was complaining. He did at the end a very good job, he tried his best but never reached Joey level and power.
However now that Slipknot joined Eloy, I havent seen any hate comment at all. This is it!! He is the One.
He was a whiny bitch and a douchebag to work with, so couple that with his lack of control and inability to play the required parts, Jay sucked.
The edition of this video is insane. Thanks for the info!
Thanks
You guys did Eloy dirty in this video.
Totally different drummer, but I have mad respect for Gavin Harrison of Porcupine Tree. He applies all of these concepts and ideas that you noticed from Slipnot by times 100. His dynamics are insane. (Not comparing them. Prog rock vrs. nu-metal are not the same thing. Apples to oranges) But, your breakdown of their playing reminds me of why I love drummers like Portnoy, Harrison, and many others.
Eloy is the perfect fit for Slipknot, it’s his favorite band, he’s a powerhouse speed demon. The fact he played Heretic Anthem perfectly with the way SK plays with zero clicks is amazing in itself. I like Weinberg but Eloy imo is the perfect choice to take what ima refer to as the hot seat
Gracias
really cool video
Be good enough to play in Slipknot: Lesson 1
Be born insanely damn good.
The end.
So no one is good enough to play in Slipknot?
...so far
@@perlundgren7797Estepario can play all Slipknot songs with 1 hand 😂
@@rexc121 And is that thanks to thousands of hours of practice or because he was "born insanely good"? 🙂
