    You guys are so blessed to have a neighbor like that. I’d love to be able to go mine some Opal for a few days.
    Being stuck smack dab in the middle of the USA there’s no chance to do anything like that.
    That was awesome to watch though, thank you for taking us along.

    I would love to work in a mine like this for a month. Already looked into how to get there, food and shelter. Just worried about transportation and finding a miner willing to let an unexperienced texan work under their wing. Costs are around $5-6k for one month including flights from Austin, Tx airport to Sydney to Coober Pedy. p.s. not worried about making money there just interested in the work and experience in a mining setting.

    That mine doesn't belong to Ashley. He mines outside of the tunnels. It belongs to a bloke who owns a tour company there. Noble Tours Coober Pedy.

  • @jonstorey6414
    @jonstorey6414 Před rokem +1

    If them small openings in the ground are the only way into the mines. It makes me think how did they get that digger down into the mine. I know a lot of mines they take all there large equipment down piece by piece and then put them together inside the mine. But i could see some of the parts on that digger would be to big to get down the hole you went down. Unless the hole is bigger than it looks on camera. Plus what had they used on the walls with all the circles all over the walls and roof

    • @lilandjake
      @lilandjake  Před rokem

      Hey Jon, great question! The digger is actually brought down in seperate pieces which makes it small enough to get down the hole. The circles on the wall are made with that exact digger, the end spins around and creates those circular patterns. Cheers! 👍🏽

      @@lilandjake Looking at some of the parts for the digger. They look to big for the hole you went down. Like the chassis. Unless the chassis is 2 half's and bolt or weld together
