Situation is getting better day by day. Assam, Meghalaya are already doing well. Rest of the states will take another 4-5 yrs to fully catch up... Now railway line is already extended to Imphal. It'll also be extended to Aizawl in future. So, work is ongoing...👍🏻👍🏻🩷🩷

I totally agree with you, India is very big country with various geographical areas, north east and Himachal Pradesh and uttrakhand these are the regions where landslides are common so that' why roads take time to built and putting toll tax on road should be support by the general public as it is to recover the cost of building road as well as to maintain it

You should have taken the Durtlang-Kawnpui bypass road, that road is smaller comparatively but it's far better. That road is not used by trucks/HMVs. 😢 Road commissioned but work still not begun

You could come via kolasib, bairabi then you'll enter to RAMNATHPUR which is the part of Assam ....the road conditions via this side is good as compared to Vairangte Road

This I am talking about both the street food and also food you get in the hotels.
FYI there are a number of Manipuri hotels lined along the GS road not far from the rly stn.
You can enjoy the most delicious traditional Manipuri and Assamese cuisine at affordable prices at these hotels.
Even the best veg thalis cost less than Rs.100.
Meghalaya road to assam itna kharap isliye hai kyun ki yaha barish bohut hoti hai aur landslide hote rehete hai kabhi2 2 days lag jaate hai. Landslide ko rok k hi road aache se baana sakte hai.

As someone who is born and brought up in Guwahati, it's not that expensive as your claiming. Yes, if you choose to eat at fancy cafes and restaurents it'll be costly. But I have eaten biriyani for 30 rupees, paratha for 20 rupees, Assamese Thali for 60 rupees in Guwahati. You just need to explore a bit, cause most of the roadside hotels and restaurents are little bit fancy and expensive, but inside the city, there are enough affordable options. Maybe you should try in areas nearby offices, universities and rail stations, there are hundreds of hotels and restaurents available there!
