So Make It Right is from their Map of the Soul: Persona album from April 2019..... Ed Sheeran wrote the hook and gave it to them and they loved it and the first version was released. Lauv is a huge fanboy of theirs and BTS loves him too so when he went to their concert in June and expressed a hope to work with them and they said, OK, how about a remix of Make It Right? He said he was so excited and appreciative of the opportunity..... the song and Video are for ARMY.... the boy represents BTS and the girl represents ARMY.... she changed into the cloak that gave him warmth and protected him while he was traveling and in the wind and desert and protected him from the dragon’s fire while he was battling it .... all as a way to show that ARMY has always been there with and for BTS and the mutual love and respect between BTS and ARMY of enduring, even when we are not together physically and even when we aren’t aware.... 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜. You got it right! The ARMY time was during their concert at Wembley where the ARMYs sang a song to them and made BTS felt touch and we can see JK and Jimin cried there. The bond is very special.
The song is about ARMY and BTS, that's why when "ARMY TIME" starts at the LOVE YOURSELF/SPEAK YOURSERLF concert they sing this song. The whole Persona album is, as RM said, "a love letter to ARMY".

I am saying this because I noticed some people in other comments said they didnt like the rapping, the rapping didnt need to be in it, but for me the rapping is just as essential as the vocal line when we are talking about BTS.

So the girl in the video represents ARMY. She turns in to a cape that comforts and protects the boy which is BTS. It shows how us ARMY are always with them as they go forward with their career as well as all the struggles they have faced along the way that they were not alone. Like when it looked like the boy was being laughed at the girl walk beside him and didn’t leave him. The cape protected him when he fought the dragon kind of like how ARMY sticks up and defends the boys against haters.
THE REST OF THIS IS BASED ON CLUES GIVEN BY BTS AS WELL AS WHAT XCELESTE HAS UNCOVERED
The next BTS album is thought to be called Map of the Soul : Shadow. The dragon that was slain could be interpreted as a shadow. The first track is thought to possibly be called Hero which is what the boy was once he slayed the dragon/shadow. The sword the boy used could be interpreted as a microphone. I recommend watching Xceleste’s video on CZcams about clues that may have been given about the new album as well as this series of Albums.
It can also be interpreted as BTS the girl who is the friend and cape for ARMY. 💜

Yes, you were correct. It said "ARMY TIME" and its BTS who usually sing songs for their fans...if you only knew the amount of songs they made where they are talking about ARMY. Ed Sheeran wrote this along with BTS and it was never a proper MV but many fans love love love this song. Also, BTS sometimes talks about the "desert" as their struggle along the way. Notice in the beginning when he is asleep, she becomes the cloak. He goes through all these things and feels he is alone, but he is never along, you never walk alone. The people laughing at them in the street? that is BTS and ARMY getting laughed at along the way as well. BTS always have our backs, and ARMY always support BTS. Thats why, after he slayed the dragon, the cloak (army) protected him from the dragons flame.

So for those who didn’t get it, the boy in the video was BTS and the girl turned into the coat (ARMY) to protect the boy. The boy then went on a hero’s journey to bring her back and, well, they saved each other, just like how BTS and ARMY saved each other. If you change the lyrics from you to ARMY you can see
His journey wasn’t to save a girl his journey was about slaying his demons a.k.a. the dragon. He was already heading to defeat the dragon when the girl came to him in the middle of the desert to offer emotional support
Also the fact that the girl turned into a coat I think stands for the fact that even if armies aren't with BTS physically, they are always there for them to protect them
When the big screen at their concert flashes ARMY TIME everyone in the crowd holds up a banner (each performance has a different message to BTS on the banner)with a special surprise message for BTS. The members never know what they'll say. It's really touching. ARMY (some awesome members of ARMY) provide the banners not BigHit.
It was awesome seeing the concert clips. Some of the ones where the members were bundled up against the cold (40° ish temps plus rain the second night) are from nights 1 and 2 (rain) of the concerts I went to this past May. It brings back the amazing glowing feeling from then. I really hope you all get to go someday.

XCeleste did a great interpretation of this MV. This was about their love and appreciation for Army. Jonathan was not far off about the relationship aspect and the things they face with the rest of the world, like the people laughing at them, the dragon, the mountains, and the heat of the volcano. When he met her he was happy. He fell asleep. When he woke up he thought she was gone, not realizing that she had become the cape around him that shielded him from the cold and the flames from the dragon. In the end, the cape comes off and materializes as the girl again. BTS noticed that through it all, Army has been there to fight alongside them. They showed some of the members crying on stage. BTS is often overwhelmed by the love that they receive from Army. It's such a beautiful and genuine thing to see. They don't take it for granted and always find ways to share that love and appreciation that flows both ways. If you want to see a great impact of their love for and from Army watch the news footage in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. The government lit the city in purple for them and relaxed the laws to accommodate the expression of love for BTS. The fans were permitted to dance in public and women and men could stay in the hotel without proving they were married. BTS is changing the world.
I honestly cried when the remix came out. There was a fan who compiled all those animation and the message makes more sense it's like another hidden message for armys and it's really amazing. the song is like a letter for armys 😭💜 BTS went through a lot and through all those journey ARMYs are always with them every step of the way. armys became BTS cape that acts as a shield and protected them and makes them become a hero.
I know other ARMYS have explained the meaning of the song and video, not sure if anyone pointed out that when the boy(BTS) and the girl (ARMY) first take each other's hand their arms and shadows create the BTS symbol.

For me it has double meaning, its about BTS & Army's relationship, but moreso its also for me about how you can search the whole world or battle the world but what you need is always right by your side and never left you regardless if its army, family or friends. He was missing the girl and went to battle all sorts of demons and when he had his darkest moment his cloak turned back into her, so she never left him.
that scene where the guy hold the girls hand. the space where the arms and the shadow's arms connects form BTS logo. it somehow means that BTS exist not only because of them but also because of armys. 💜

Okay this is gonna be long because I let BTS get me all lost in how amazing they are...so either pack a lunch or skip this because 😳.
There is so much neat symbolism going on for me. Good to keep in mind: MV lyrics don’t always go with what you’re watching. They do a good bit in this one, but whatever is most obvious is usually the least to focus on (dating relationship).
Symbolism Option One - the straightforward version:
The main focus is the boy. Sometimes he's with a girl, sometimes appears to be alone, sometimes cries and struggles.
The boy is BTS. He is the one who is longing, who is crying, who is struggling. He starts out alone, even making himself small in a posture of self-protection.
The girl is Army. She shows up in his life, and he didn't even see her coming from behind.
He stands. They both reach out - equally - to each other. They connect. They begin to run through sun-filled landscapes together, side by side.
When it's dark, the boy is curled up in the fetal position (self-protectively) on the ground by the fire. The girl/Army is not just with him. She is beside him not lying but sitting up. She is watching over him. When the sun rises we see that her presence is even more personal. No longer beside him, she has become the cloak that encompasses and warms him. He recognizes it for what it is and continues on his journey.
Interestingly, as Hobi is singing about becoming a hero, we see the boy fall to the ground and a tear escapes. We didn't see him stumble or get hurt. Is he weary on his journey? Army is still there around him, and soon he is back on his way.
This journey becomes even harder. We see the boy surrounded by dark shadows of faces laughing, and even pointing. But he's still moving and there she is, right by his side in the midst of it all. Swirling around him is a sea of hands, nothing but hands, and they're all pointing--accusingly? mockingly? In the middle of it all the boy sees a weapon. It looks like a dagger. Right after we see the dagger the screen is filled with nothing but Tae's hand holding a microphone. The boy has a weapon.
With the hands still pointing and swirling around the boy, he reaches to take hold of the weapon in front of him and is consumed by the light that's emanating from it.
As he presses on the hands are no longer there, and his journey seems to have taken him to a place of high elevation. We see the peaks of mountains, and the white surface could be snow. While in this high place, the cloak that is Army is still with him. I had the thought that he has not just companionship, but even at these heights he needs (and has) warmth and protection.
Even in a place so high, as the video shows the boy with tears, there is an incredible threat . The boy doesn't turn and run. He doesn't stand still. He charges forward, with the weapon of the mic in his hand and Army cloaked around him. He rises up and conquers what is coming against him, and is shielded yet again by Army as the flames come at him.
When the battle ends, the boy kneels down next to his cloak which becomes the girl again. I'm struck by how, as the scene fades, he doesn't get up. Army is on her feet, and he remains on his knees before her. To me it felt like he is giving her honor.
I'm not crying, you're crying.
Okay, symbolism option 2, which I saw somewhere else and I love it and can take zero credit for. But I have to share it, because this is just like BTS. They truly create art. They have their creative expression, yet when we consider it there are different ways it can be interpreted. Here is what Nihal Shah had to offer:

Past references to albums from the boy and girl
The boy was first alone, sad (The most beautiful moment in life pt. 1)

also, 1:40 when the boy is walking in the desert, his shadow suddenly starts to get bigger, and the dragon also represents shadow, hinting to the next album Map of the Soul Shadow
Also the boy and girl represent BTS and ARMYsupporting each other and hence the mv uses clips from Love yourself Speak yourself tour, many clips from the Wembley concert because Lauv visited them at the Wembley concert"

Usually with BTS, their lyrics can be interpreted in several ways like you guys said.
This song specifically is an ARMY song, so basically BTS is the boy and ARMyY is the girl, and the words are addressed to the fans.
However, you can also think of it as a relationship like the guy to the left pointed out. A lot of their songs can be interpreted as love songs too, if you want to.
Thirdly, I think it can also be a reflection of self-love. You deciding to slay your own demons of self-loathing, doubt and depressive thoughts. You can make it right for yourself. You can save yourself.
I prefer BTS original version from their latest album, but i love this MV🤗 The girl in the animation became a cape and didn't leave him alone. She was always with him. We, army, are also BTS's shelter. Army and BTS always support each other in each one's life in each way.
It’s actually the girl, ARMY, who saves the boy. He as in BTS, want to repay her, the fans back by being there for her/them. The animation and lyrics are full of references to BTS’ song SEA, which is a very personal song where they’re very honest with ARMY, in fact SEA is so personal between BTS & ARMY, that it’s only available as a hidden track on their physical album.
It's an army song. The girl (army) became a cloak that helped to protect them and help them keep going during bad times and in return they want to keep fighting and giving back. Basically is a symbiotic relationship
you've gotten so many comments about the meaning of what this remix and the song in general is about but I just wanted to share how I interpret the video. It's really almost similar to what the mv is about actually, for me I take it as you know BTS singing specifically to me or well speaking directly to me for someone who hasn't been to a concert it touches my heart because you know I get to imagine how it is standing in the crowd DURING this song..it's kind of sad, to me that is, but I love it. I cry every time I watch this mv to be honest lol when they're singing this to the crowd standing near the end of the stage looking down or up or straight at army's I feel that, that emotional response they're sending through the lyrics, it's like-no it is them being a healing method to any or all pain we've (an army) suffered on our own and the ones we went through together as BTS and ARMY... and it's just a really heart warming thing to have, especially with an artist. They’re the only artists who write songs for us ARMY and make me believe it. It’s not just on song. It’s multiple ones and that’s something.
Some alternate interpretation thoughts (as an *additional* layer to other interpretations):
🔹 Boy (BTS) met Girl (ARMY) and world got colored (was brought to LIFE)
🔹 When Boy's fire (BTS motivation) went out, Girl (ARMY) became what warmed(motivated) them to keep alive & continue the journey
🔹 Cloak can also be seen as a (superhero's) cape (possibly with protective powers)
🔹 Journey can also be seen as an epic (or heroic) *quest* towards a *goal* (the dragon)
🔹 When the dragon is slayed ({BTS} *success* is achieved) Boy is buffeted by flames from that success (downsides of extreme fame) but ultimately protected/kept safe from those flames by his cloak (ARMY)
🔹 When Boy thinks he's alone (after success) & is crying, he's able to see Girl (ARMY) as a person/individual again & sees that he isn't alone (& has always been with him, which he'd lost sight of)
🔹 When crowds were surrounding & jeering at them, Boy (BTS) could see Girl (ARMY) (as person/individuals) going through the mocking/jeering right along with them [[recognition not only that they weren't alone in that hate, but that they saw ARMY members dealing with it themselves]]

Nico was right. The journey BTS and ARMY were going on was the journey from their (BTS') pre-debut year and debut year all the way to now.

The blonde girl is Army and the boy is BTS. And that's basically our story. We're protecting them, as the cape, while they're fighting their own demons (dragons) and/or the haters. Or maybe even injustices in society they talk about through their music (mic/sword). Using it to defeat the evil. And we get hurt too during the fight and the boys are sad about it, wanting to make it right. But they don't have to worry. We're strong and will always be there (for each other).
Dope that y'all each shared what you got from the song, it's gonna be different for everyone, that's what music is about. That said I think most longtime armys will see this as a song to us. What I got is the boy cld represent Army and the girl BTS or vice versa. Army & BTS were by each other's side all along helping each other get through life. I have an unpopular theory of this meaning... while I agree the boy and girl are bts and army, I think the journey the boy goes on is from now into the future. . Possibly splitting for military service. We saw the past, army walking with bts through the hate and antis, but when they go off they will be alone again, to fight to comeback, with army still here in the end. I doubt I'm right, but this just hit me completely different, almost as if it's a goodbye for now.

The whole next phase of the “Map of the Soul” series is going to be about “a Hero” slaying/conquering his “Shadow/dragon”

The way I took it, the boy is BTS, the girl is ARMY. She is there to make his life more vibrant and full of joy, to hold his hand, to give him comfort. She is there to give him warmth, to watch his back, to protect him from the flames and the cold. She's there to support him so that he can perform great deeds, the sea to his desert, the warm cloak when he crosses the frozen tundra. The dragon is a shadow because it's the embodiment of all the bad things, the hate, the prejudice, the faceless anonymous netizens who sling lies, rumors, and baseless accusations. BTS can slay all of it, with ARMY there to shield them from the flames and protect them. For me, this music video is BTS telling us what they consider ARMY to be in their lives. And it's beautiful.

Hey...so I happened to be watching Steve Colbert a few months back when they sang this. They just sat on stools and it was sort of a jam...what an amazing time in music right now. Everyone wants to work with each other. We are a part of music history. I do love that “we can make it better”. The first three or four notes...love it or leave it , that’s the rule. Since its a (remix) BTS' vocal line did do all the singing parts and the chorus. That first verse was Lauv which in the Original Song is V's part and then blended him in with some of the other verses too. :) You have to react ot the original live performance its so good! The boys (BTS) almost disband and not continue the contract with Bighit in early 2018 bcoz of too much presure, hardwork and also haters... But they finally decided to continue this journey ... Bcoz they know their armys always there waiting and protect them 💜
The girl is supposed to represent army the boy is bts if u watch the animation u will see the girl comes to him when hes alone and crying and when they touch if u look the gap between their hands create the bts logo, and as they touch the world becomes bright that shows that before they met us their world was dull and we brought the light to them later u see the girl transforms into a cape that kinda shows how army is always there with them at the scene were people are laughing at him the animation shows the girl walking behind always thats the hardships the guys faced with people mocking them and how army was there through it all protecting them and standing by their side, for the dragon if u look his sword is a mic and after he kills the dragon the cape kinda moves to block the blast and u can see the shadow of the girl holding him taking the blast and blocking him again army always there protecting them but its also a hint for the next album which is rumored to be called shadow and the title track is maybe gonna be called hero...and the last scene were the boy is crying cuz the cape is ruined it transforms back into the girl or us and holds her hand out proving no matter what comes our way we are and will always be there....and this song was written for the army by them lol sorry for this long ass comment

The popular interpretation is the relationship between bts n army. But come on guys, bts is not as simple as that. The interpretation can go multiple ways - bts and army, bts and each other, bts n their families/loved ones, n based on the theme of the album, the relationship between bts and their own selves, which will be a natural progression from fake love, which explores their inner selves.

A lot of us army's is thinking that this song is for us, and the girl representing ARMY becomes a cape protecting the boy who is BTS through journey and threats against them. At the end the cape came back as a girl while he was crying reminding BTS that they are not alone.

My fellow Army is all over this. The only thing I will add is that some people believe this video is also a hint towards the next album and the first track to be released. They think the next album will be Map of the Soul: Shadow, and that the song will be Hero, but that is just a theory.
