@@IslenoGutierrez ok good enough, I was always led to believe Staffy was an interchangable term for both breeds, for the record I have an Amstaff, an American Staffordshire terrier.... I've been referring to her as an Amstaff or a Staffy for years. You learn something new everyday... I'm a big fan of Amstaffs. I've heard people refer to them as the "civilized Pitbull", I like Pitbulls slot but my favorite will always be the Amstaff.... For such a strong, powerful dog they've got the disposition of a teddy bear if you raise them properly..,. 😊

David Carter Amstaffs are pitbulls too. The APBT (American Pitbulls Terrier), AST (American Staffirdshite Terrier) and SBT (Staffordshire Bull Terrier) are all 100% genetically identical. They are all just different strains of the same breed. APBT is the only one with pit bull in the name which makes some people assume it's the only one that's a pitbull but they are all considered pitbulls by US law: definitions.uslegal.com/p/pit-bull/
And here is an DNA admixture chart from a scientific DNA study on dogs and you can see clearly on every DNA run the APBT, AST and SBT are 100% identical: gsejournal.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12711-019-0520-4/figures/4

Luckily they're usually small oodle mixes so they are easily handled but a poorly bred, nervy large dog is problematic.

No one denies that some pitbulls can be well-behaved.
What is UNDISPUTED, is that pitbulls, whether properly trained or not, are prone to entering frenzies of rage where they become set on killing their enemy.
They will not listen to their owner like other lethal guard dogs and must be separated by force. German shepherds, rottweilers, etc., are all capable of stopping an attack by command after they have sprung into actions. When a pitbull springs into action, it must be forcibly separated or else it will kill.
They will ignore the pain from their own critical wounds to continue attacking, where other dogs would submit in self-preservation. Think about that. Even when a pitbull knows its wounds are fatal, it will still try to kill its enemy at any cost. Other dogs will surrender in hopes of being spared.
These are undeniable facts about the pitbull family. Any pitbull can be trained to behave. But they are UNPREDICTABLE in how or whether they will be triggered into their murderous frenzy. Some pits go their whole life without being triggered. This does nothing to dispel the body of evidence showing that perfectly trained pitbulls can still get triggered into murder frenzies. (See: Ceaser Milan).
As a whole, the breed is dangerous and not suitable for communities.

I've owned many dogs and multiple breeds, I have never liked anything related to the pitbull breed let alone own one. I was in between dogs with my last being a beagle. I had stopped at a person's house I haven't seen in years and they had 5 dogs all varieties of pits. They had a emaciated Amstaff they kept in a tiny bedroom 24 hours a day which was previously abused before they got him. They only let the dog out to use the bathroom and was kept in the tiny bedroom the rest of the time being fed in there and with no interaction. I broke down after feeling horrible for the dog and told them I'm taking the dog and they did not have a choice in the matter which luckily they agreed. People that know me said I was a fool and had the same feelings I had with the pit breed. The dog was around 6 years old when I brought him home and after 5 months of having him I am here to say that I have never been so wrong when it comes to a dog breed. Even now I hate to admit that this is by far thee best dog I have ever owned in my life and is mind boggling to me that I am saying this after owning this animal for months instead of years. I had acclimated him to people, other animals, and children all within a few months since I live on a very active lake and he is slowly starting to win everyone over around here. I put him on a diet and exercise that now he looks as if he could win Mr. Universe and never in a million years did I ever of thought I could have taken a adult abused pitbull breed (this one being a American Staffordshire Terrier) and it turning out to be thee damn best dog I have ever owned!!!

Best, most friendly, passionate dogs in the world. I will never own another dog besides a staffy or an APBT. A+ cuddler. Also, my mom at first told me my staffy would maul children and was very against her. Now, My mom only adopts pit bulls and staffys. It only takes one good dog to convert someone to #teamPitbull.

Your mom had a German Shepherd and she said a. pitbull would maul someone? That's hilarious to me. I would bet that German Shepherds actually maul more people. Now as far as dog aggression..I don't know who is worse with that. But with people I bet a pitbull in general is a million times better. And I've had one (APBT) and he was nothing but sweet to people..anyone that came to the house. But of course we didn't train him to be an asshole like some people do. He had spats with his brother though but never anything serious.

I have a special spot for certain breeds and Pits are one. Had a Doberman when I was younger and she was very sweet too. We didn't know she was one till later because my mom if she had known...we probably wouldn't have kept her or I can only imagine at that point in her life. She's way more open minded now.

This may sound stupid but this is the original pit bull and to me the smartest and least aggressive but can be if taught or not treated right but hell I can make a Labrador mean if i treat him a certain way just my opinion

They are most likely using real meat like chicken or turkey as treats...they are biting it to break the meat into smaller pieces because their other hand is busy with the lead.

    • @brainsmall
      @brainsmall Před 5 lety

I do this all the time. With freezedried meat treats, it is hard for the dog to chew and trot at the same time, so you chew it smaller for easier chewing for your dog. If that's gross to you, you don't want to know what's on your face when a dog licks you

my staff was stubborn but not stupid she knew what she anted, and almost destroyed a game pit that went after her off the leash i had no choice but to let go she was too strong and i had to let her protect herself. it ended pretty quick but the pit was badly damaged, fricken owner. i helped with vet bills and did not have too. she was just put to sleep after 15 years and bad scin allergies her legs were gone and did everything to keep her as long as possible it hurts so much b/c of allergies she needed a lot of care so she was my sick baby too. very bad puppy she literaly ate my furniture and some walls it took 4 years to calm a bit. know what you are getting into with this breed , maybe mine was just bred bad , she was pretty big and very muscled for a female and head was a bit on small size but the whole neighborhood knew her and all the children loved her and boy did she go out her way to play with children even at 13 year old or more

One thing you learn with these bully breeds is no matter how much bigger or faster the other pitbull type dog is it’s always 50-50 in a fight, these dogs were bred for fighting and they are really really good at it.

There is a difference between 'ripped' and 'big'. I have an Am Staff and he is ripped. He has very prominent shoulder and haunch muscles, a deep chest, ribs slightly visible, and defined curve up at his belly very much like the first dog. Mine is just a bit taller in the leg. The vet said he is a perfect 4 on the fitness chart (1-3 is too undernourished, 4-6 are ideal and 7-9 is too fat). With the exception of the first dog, the others seem just a bit to thick in the belly. I would increase exercise and look at their diet.
