Yeah by definition origami is made from one piece of paper with no cuts or added sheets. And it's not even Kirigami which is similar to origami except you are allowed to make cuts, but still using a single sheet.

Modular origami like this is actually surprisingly easy! I've been doing geometric modular origami for years and even some seemingly simple shapes can be much harder to assemble than this. It definitely would take a long time to form all of the individual units, but the assembly is very simple here since each piece really can only connect to each other piece in two ways- you can put both points into both pockets of a second piece, or one piece into one pocket of a second piece. Compared to a sonobe unit it's much simpler, even though the sonobe also has just two points, but many more ways you can connect them.

This is easy, for 3d origami. 3d origami like this is extremely easy. You just need to have a spare time to make all the 3d pieces. Thats why im scared of 3d origami. I dont have the recources or the time to make these pieces.
There used to be a merchant/shop that sell the kit that include stacks of rectangle shaped mini colored paper, picture of finished product, instruction leaflet and any addon that are required. We need to fold each mini paper into the triangle unit/block manually first before assembling them. It is like paper lego. I still keep several kits. 😁
I wouldn’t see anyone having this much amount of free time to make this, because not only do you have to put the papers together, but you also have to fold them into the little pieces
Love 3D origami! It's like a paper Lego. Nice swan, although beginner can try making even smaller one. Basically start making a tulip but make one petal smaller and attach a head there (and tail on the opposite side)
Our 7th grade math teacher wanted the whole class to build the swan and he would assemble while we would build the pieces but we need had enough before the dead line so we ended up not finishing it and teaching got mad at the class for half of the students not pulling there weight. I really wanted to finish it 😔

I agree with @rohitdakhane9181 origami only uses 1 sheet o paper folded several times for example there exists a cactus origami with a lot of needles all folded with the cactus and the pot from sheet, not just glued together. Now this swan isn't origami but it is still art, just not the type associated to origami.
I'm at the same time impressed by the enginuity it took to come up with something like this and disappointed that the origamis I saw as a child were made of multiple pieces all along.
The fact that this says beginner’s is exactly why I never went to a sketch and painting art class even when my parents wanted me to. Because THIS is what the other beginners look like

Actually, no, because 3d origami is totally different from normal origami, so this would be classified as beginner level

It definitely would take a long time to form all of the individual units, but the assembly is very simple here since each piece really can only connect to each other piece in two ways- you can put both points into both pockets of a second piece, or one piece into one pocket of a second piece.

You can make them using regular letter sized paper. Look for a tutorial for 3D origami
