    Of all the sims I tried when first starting I found rf2 to be the one I picked up quickest, it just felt great. It had the incredibly clunky ui, crashed half the time I launched it and took forever loading mods but I absolutely adored open wheel racing in it over covid lock downs. And watching the Race's series of taking professional drivers, current and retired and sticking them in vintage formula cars was fantastic

    Iv driven all of the major sims and I agree RF2 delivers a very realistic and connected feeling to all the different handling characteristics of each car. There’s another title that does that for me. The original AC.

    Thanks, I'll have to give some of those a go. Bit tempted by the Formula Vee.

    Rf2 is simply the best. When people say it has ugly graphics, i don´t get it. It´s the most polished and realistic around, except the rain.

      Yea I think it looks great. It has very natural colors and artstyle, and the night lighting is incredible.

    Really enjoy doing silly things like the Crystal Palace circuit in modern F1 cars like the official McLaren stuff…
    The official mini is good fun too

    you can have competitive and packed grids on iracing and ACC, nice grap`hics etc etc but NOTHING COMPARES TO RF2 its simply the best

    Great video! Maybe I give rf2 a Chance. What are the best pedals for around 600 euros?

    Being a longtime player of rF2 and AC I prefer the AC. The FFB is equally good on both titles but to me AC physics feel a little better. However, AC's kerbs are way too slippery and it's not perfect. But the overall feeling is better (to me) on AC. Both excellent sims.

      I prefer rF2 but unfortunately the mod scene is not nearly as vast as AC. I think AC became what rF2 was originally visioned be, but yea both are fantastic sims overall.

    🤍 Any 60's F1 car 'round Belgium 1966...
    *granted: I've ended up having to mod the cars (F1 EVE 68 in my case) and track myself to improve the AI immensely. Still an amazing hotlap challenge.

    I dont find anything special about RF2. Dated graphics, clunky menu/track/car selections, crash too often, not so great car sound, major GT brands and iconic tracks are not available. A few of cars and tracks are available for sell but will cost you over $100.
    This game is amateur friendly because there are tons of oval tracks, and you can set traction to max. FFB is good for low/mid torque wheelbases.

    • @Logan912
      @Logan912 Před 6 měsíci

      You say that about oval tracks as if the oval AI in rF2 is anything more than atrocious. Lol

    NOPE.
    Rf2 had its chance.
    No other game gets installed then quickly unistalled off my hdd as rf2.
    I'm just sick of trying to set up a 10+ yrs old game the devs won't.

      For a simracer, rf2 isn’t difficult to set up than an other sim...and they have change Ui 1year ago, and wait... iracing is also 10y old sim 😅

      When I first tried RF2 a couple of months ago, I gave up immediately because of the same issues you mentioned. I got back on it about 10 days ago because I wanted to try the new online racing system, it took me about 2 hours to set it ip to my liking and now it’s by far my favorite sim. I am not going to renew my Iracing membership as I just don’t see the value for what they charge.

    • @Logan912
      @Logan912 Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@ducat7493 iRacing (which is another sim with notorious issues, granted) actually receives updates and improvements. rF2 is essentially the exact same sim now as it was 6 years ago when I first tried it, and the “new ui” looks different visually but is functionally exactly the same and just as unintuitive as ever if not worse because of the way some important menus are hidden now.
      It still takes an eternity to set up a race whereas that same race would only take a few clicks and 1-2 minutes in most other sims, it’s still buggy half the time, the AI is still atrocious, there’s still no championship functionality, it still looks terribly outdated in-game to the point where it’s immersion-breaking (i.e. exhaust flames), the sounds are still awful, the physics are still questionable at times even in *paid* content, need I keep going?
