I had a bloodhound and her name was Bella. She had to have surgery. She was in recovery. The vet said she woke up and coughed and then she had a heart attack and she died.😭💔 That like to have killed me when they called me and told me she died. She was 7 years old. I miss that baby everyday. She looks a lot like your sweet baby. Cherish her and love on her as much as you can. My Bella was so spoiled rotten. The only problem I had with her is that she didn't like strangers once she got about a year old. I don't know what changed? I guess she figured this was her family and her home and it was her job to protect us. We didn't teach her to be that way , she just was. Kisses and Hugs to your sweet baby from our family. So Cute! Mia my 4 year old bloodhound always does this. She is tall enough to rest her head on just about everything in our house. During dinner she will rest her head on the far side of the table. Glad to see another bloodhound lover!
So Precious. My Mia does the same thing, she likes to rest her head on the kitchen table. When ever she bay's we always get people laughing and staring although it can get annoying ha. The Joys of owning a bloodhound never end.
Love houndogs, we currently have 4 houndogs, 2 black and tans, a Walker and a bluetick, my grandfather, father and uncles raised them now my brother and nephew raises them.
I sure miss how my big red girl used to rumble and mumble at me. Moochie had so many little hums and snorts it was pretty easy to understand what she was saying. And a deep dreamer who would run do small bays in her throat as she ran in her dreams. And the gentlest dog ever. A perfect family dog with kids and oldies alike.
@hawkhounds yes , yes we do! And rosie is a very pretty bloodhound. My socrates(july 12th 2011) was a liver and tan, and my abe(july 9th 2011) who also passed, was a red. Bloodhounds are beautiful animals. Great companions. I actually think socrates passed away from a broken heart. Only 3 days afterr abe passed. very sad. but i guess heaven needed another hero. :)
I have a Hound as well, and we practice “inside voice” with her. I don’t think hounds have an inside voice!😂 It’s all or nothingLol 😂 The only inside voice you’ll get, is the grumble of them being disappointed in their selves for not being able to do “inside voice.”

bloodhounds are such awesome dogs... my mom got our bloodhound to do an elvis lip curl for treats (i got it on film today was so happy!) now to get her being excited when her poppy gets home..
Ohhhhhhhhh. Myyyyyyyyyy. Gooooooodness!!!!!!!!!!! This is simply adorable. You can see her just trying so hard to restrain herself because you want her to be quiet but she just can't resist it sometimes. And that little growl might scare some people, but my dog (a chocolate lab) does the exact same thing and we know it's not a threatening growl. Dogs are just so wonderful. :)
@swaingles I've had bassets all my life, and got a blood about 7 years ago. They are different, but not in a bad way. They are far less stubborn, but utterly and totally food driven, much more so than bassets. They are just as affectionate but they are big. My Flop is 180 pounds and at one point he was pushing 200 till we dropped his food a bit. Some bloods are wetter mouthed than others, but mine is dry. He only drools on long runs. If you love bassets you'll love bloods.
I got a bloodhound mix. She will never play with toys but if you put a sock on your hand she goes nuts.
