    What’s the background noise throughout but most prominent at the beginning? You can hear it over the announcements.

    • @HobbyPilot2003
      @HobbyPilot2003  Před 2 lety

      Hi, do you mean the noise at 1:53 ? Its a part of the hydraulic sytems. It is the Power transfer unit (PTU), which is doing a self test.

    • @vitaltech5048

      @@HobbyPilot2003 No not that. The high fish pitch noise, throughout. you can hear it well. it is in the entire video.

      @@vitaltech5048 That is the normal engine sound of the CFM 56 engines. They sound different, as the IAE V2500

    • @vitaltech5048
      @vitaltech5048 Před 2 lety

      @@HobbyPilot2003 okay. I was wondering if it has anything to do with the sharklets, as all a320 models with sharklets sound a bit different

    • @HobbyPilot2003
      @HobbyPilot2003  Před 2 lety

      @@vitaltech5048 The engines are the same. There are CFM engines, and IAE V2500 engines.
      And then there is the NEO, with 2 different engines as well (sharklets).
      I flew with 2 different sharklets (CFM 56) and they sound a bit different. I dont know why.
      Maybe they are not that old

    • @HobbyPilot2003
      @HobbyPilot2003  Před 5 lety +4

      PTU is doing a self test on start up. It will do a self test in that moment, when you start the second engine:)

      Hi, you see it if you look carefully :)

    • @ahmedayaat2727
      @ahmedayaat2727 Před 8 měsíci

      You hardly ever see it due to the reflection of sun during day, they never forget it and afaik its given in the auto setting which means it'll automatically turn on before entering runway

  • @alybhamani7933
    @alybhamani7933 Před 2 lety

    What causes that sound?

    • @HobbyPilot2003
      @HobbyPilot2003  Před 2 lety +1

      That’s the PTU. It’s a part of the hydraulic system (pump) and makes a self test at engine start.
      That’s normal and you will hear it on any flight ✈️

      @@luxuryva some Embraers also have a hydraulic transfer unit like the E170. It is a very similar one to the 737s so you only hear it on an A320. Really wish they made it quieter as some people may find it disturbing
