  • Does your horse push into your space or try to nip you, but get worried if you try and set boundaries with them?
This might happen because of bad past experiences, being able to get away with this behavior previously, or possibly trying to show signs that something is wrong.
If you've ruled that this is a behavior problem, you'll want to follow the below do's and don'ts when working with them:
    - Never back away from them and allow them into your space
    - Create solid boundaries (with your body and/or hands)
    - Be hyper-aware of where they are at and their expression
    - Be proactive, not reactive
    - Be consistent with their training (every person handling your horse matters)

Great techniques. Thanks for explaining that horses that work with lots of different people will not respond as well. I volunteer with horses that work with many people. The mouthy ones just keep on being mouthy. The best we can do is anticipate and try to stay safe,

Thank you for this great training video and advice.
I recently acquired a horse with this exact same behavioral issue.
He is a young stallion and although he is not exactly what I would call aggressive he is very pushy and if I turn my back on him he will nip or start head flipping and trotting after me with his ears back.
So I am very very cautious with him as I don't want this to escalate to aggression.
I believe your methods of a non-adversarial relationship will be absolutely perfect and I have started using similar techniques with him already but now I feel much more confident and will absolutely use all the valuable information in this video.
Please post more like these I love this!!

Another victim of the "like" speech disease! People affected by speech impediments such as voice fry, "like," HRT (upspeak) etc. should seek out speech therapy groups for help in overcoming their handicap.

Being nice and non judgmental, and not labeling people you don’t know as handicapped is usually a good way to go
