I think he blew 2015..bad coaching decisions in that wisconsin game but i'll be fair too, we win if Higgins wasnt massively making us lose with his 5 bad calls.. 3 of which were in the off season NCAA video of officiating and in the section of what not to call pretty much showing the NCAA was saying wow UK was screwed. I think the first 6 years deserved more years ...but from 2020 til now it doesnt... Cal needs to be persuaded to retire.
I think Cal is too comfortable, he has no fight in him anymore, which is what a lifetime contract will do to a person. My cats have been in decline for years and those losses used to hurt me. It's at the point now that I expect losses and just say "Oh well". Until we get a coaching change, we're going to hover around the middle of the SEC, and keep taking early tournament exits.

The “sales pitch” and standard for John Calipari has never been championships or wins, nor has he ever been elite at in-game coaching. The standard is getting players drafted to the league. Cal is elite at recruiting and developing, and that is his pitch to the players. Everything else, wins, ships, is a just side effect. Some fans don’t like that and want him to retire and I don’t blame them, but from the beginning of the Cal era it has always been about 3 things: 1) recruiting NBA talent 2) developing NBA talent 3) sending NBA talent to the league. Also LOL at calling Bama the gold standard, at best y’all are a mediocre program on a recent hot streak. Hit a final 4 and you might have some ground to stand on there 😂

I have been a KY fan since Hall was coaching. I have seen some good coaching decisions and some really bad ones. Coach Cal is getting out coached in almost every game. He is not the best game time, need a basket now coach. Some years in the past I wondered what play he just called after a timeout, still happens today. How many times have you seen the other team call timeout and score an easy bucket on Ky. He can recruit and tell them he can get you to the NBA, where they will develop into good or great ball players. But as for Gametime he is just average, especially now with transfer portal and NIL. Teams are much better and so are the coaches. This team can win it all or they could lose in the 1st round, hoping for the first.

He is mastered the concept of giving to get. Calipari cannot coach at all...but he knows how to play the most important game...like a man knowing what a woman wants in order to get what he wants. His teams have all talent but NO cohesion, offensive or defensive identity...meaning you cannot tell what they are trying to do on either end of the court. They are nor developed at all...they are poorly coached.
Well when all his best players that he brings in are one and domes and he has to keep reshuffling the roster year after year that’s what’s gonna happen. Earlier in his tenure he benefited from a very down and weak SEC in the early and mid 2010s. There is a reason they only one won championship during that time. There is more depth now in the conference.

But it's obvious he's been carried by the players the whole time. What Calipari is, is a hell of a salesman. And when he won that championship off the back of Anthony Davis, he got a golden ticket that he used to con us and every recruit since then. He's a master as selling himself as something he's not. The talent on UKs teams that thrive in the NBA do so because of their offensive ability. They don't have to play defense. They don't play defense at Kentucky. I am surprised that UK doesn't have an Asst. Coach that is a specialist on defense to take up where Calipari fails. His teams for the last 8 years get an early exit because of lack of fundamental defense and not making FTs down the stretch. It will be another quick exit this year. Our team has a lot of paper players, they look good on paper but that is about it. Knecht will light up UK Saturday probably with about 40 points along with others. I hate to see the CATS loose.
You don't end up with his record by mistake. It isn't all about coaching game day. A big part of coaching is relationships and helping develop great players. You can isolate any coach, any single coach, and pick them apart at certain things. It's a blend of everything, and in that aspect, aren't many better. Look at how he dev3lops players and prepares them for the NBA. Name a single coach, ever, that has done better and has more NBA players. Name a coach that's NBA players have earned more. There isn't one. He may not be the best ever. But he is certainly on that mountain top. It's pretty ridiculous to say otherwise. They are terrible just because we already had the games won. At least the 2 OT games. We had easily winnable games in regulation if we didn't make stupid mistakes (both the players and Cal), tho the SC loss was really nothing more than catching a really good underrated team on the road on an off night, not concerned about that one. Come SEC tourney and NCAA tourney small mistakes like last Wednesdays game will be the difference between a run and an early exit

When i saw the player that Devin Askew was it was a huge red flag for me as far as Cal goes. We know his in-game coaching leaves a LOT to be desired, but when you are a HoF coach and you think that kid was the answer? The talent on UKs teams that thrive in the NBA do so because of their offensive ability. They don't have to play defense. They don't play defense at Kentucky. I am surprised that UK doesn't have an Asst. Coach that is a specialist on defense to take up where Calipari fails. His teams for the last 8 years get an early exit because of lack of fundamental defense and not making FTs down the stretch. It will be another quick exit this year. Our team has a lot of paper players, they look good on paper but that is about it. Knecht will light up UK Saturday probably with about 40 points along with others. I hate to see the CATS loose.
You don't end up with his record by mistake. It isn't all about coaching game day. A big part of coaching is relationships and helping develop great players. You can isolate any coach, any single coach, and pick them apart at certain things. It's a blend of everything, and in that aspect, aren't many better. Look at how he dev3lops players and prepares them for the NBA. Name a single coach, ever, that has done better and has more NBA players. Name a coach that's NBA players have earned more. There isn't one. He may not be the best ever. But he is certainly on that mountain top. It's pretty ridiculous to say otherwise. And you should make sure you are correct when you throw out percentages like they are facts. It isn't a 98% win rate. But your right to troll and hate. By the way. They are terrible just because we already had the games won. At least the 2 OT games. We had easily winnable games in regulation if we didn't make stupid mistakes (both the players and Cal), tho the SC loss was really nothing more than catching a really good underrated team on the road on an off night, not concerned about that one. Come SEC tourney and NCAA tourney small mistakes like last Wednesdays game will be the difference between a run and an early exit

When i saw the player that Devin Askew was it was a huge red flag for me as far as Cal goes. We know his in-game coaching leaves a LOT to be desired, but when you are a HoF coach and you think that kid was the answer? He was nowhere near the skill level to play for UK or anywhere else in the SEC. When his recruiting isn't what it used to be, watch out it's gonna get ugly. I love this year's team tho.. and it's always Go Big Blue for me.
