SD301 Smoke Leak Detector.

- Unboxed and used on a car, with some likes and dislikes. Bought on Amazon to check for Intake and Exhaust system leaks. The unboxing is kinda boring, however it shows exactly what you get. Zip ahead to 4:48 to see the unit in use.
It worked really well checking for Exhaust leaks through the tailpipe. I removed an Upstream O2 sensor to make sure smoke was getting up that far. The pressure generated actually filled the exhaust system and spit the bung/adapter out of the tail pipe.
I would be reluctant to check an Evap system with this machine because of the pressure.

I tried to use mine today for the first time but can't figure it out. I did exactly what you did and there's no smoke coming out of the tube. There is air coming out. Any tips? Did you have to wait a long time at the first use before you got smoke?
On mine, there's a switch on the side near the bottom. When u connect the leads, the unit starts up, but you will only get smoke when u flip the switch to on. Does yours have the switch and did you add oil through the top opening first?

I have added some baby oil, not too much first. Then I hooked it up to the battery. Mine makes a noise in both settings, on and off, the - makes a light noise and the o makes a louder noise. But only air coming out. The thing has one switch, can't get my head around it tho 😅
Did u add enough oil Tim? I put about half the squeeze bottle in there. When I'm done, I pour it out before I store the unit. Sounds like it's working but no smoke. I get smoke within 10 or 20 seconds
It says not to add to much o I tried not putting it too much and sticking to the 30ml. I read the 30ml from the bottle and added it. Then after 10 minutes I added a little bit extra, don't want to overfill, about 10ml extra still nothing. So I really don't know if it might be malfunctioning or something.
