I am very late to the party, but this is hands down the best concise tutorial on understanding priorities in laymen terms that I have ever seen. You could do an entire video series on explaining priorities in alot of different Sims and games. It would be a massive success. Keep up the fantastic work and you have gained a subscriber to here and discord for life man.

Great and informative video, really overwhelming because I know you have a lot to cover. The good thing about this video is , is hat I can play and replay over, and over again. It’s almost like programming, but I am game to learn this stuff, great that there is also a support system. Excellent overview of the mod addition process! Not a "Just do it this way" approach, but a good explanation of the reasoning behind the layout described. Thanks for taking the time in doing this video, make so much sence can't think why nobody else has done this before. Going through my ATS files now as I watch can't wait to see the results. Loving the content definitely think TrackIR would be good for you while driving in ATS & ETS saves you having to press buttons at junctions to look L&R, I hope to see you maybe look into Airhauler2 and some more flying for the channel too.
Any thoughts on driving the Le Mans 24hr on Project Cars 2 ? I believe you can get players to take over your drive whilst in pitlane in multiplayer - now that would be cool doing a full 24 hour race ;-)

Cyrus the Virus....named for John Malkovichs' character in Con Air. Awesome 90s action flick if no one knows about it.
one thing I do is I put all map or truck/trailer mods (actual models not skins) at the very bottom and have noticed it loads much easier for me on a lower end laptop. Eventually I'm going to get a much better one so I can have much more consistent gameplay. ETS2 runs a lot better on lower end things than ATS does. I could run ETS2 on high graphics without much issue at all on a low end laptop. I'm ready for the Oklahoma DLC release because then I will get Texas and Montana as well as every other DLC for the game.

HAHA fair enough. I still use this to organize all mine. Glad it's working for you.
The biggest issue is the use of semantic's. There is a load order in which the pc read's the mod's, and there an order in which the pc resources, utilize the mod's. Reading is bottom up, utilize in top down.

You should get them from the SCS forum. Lots of mods with safe links.

Extremely late to this, but I didn't catch where you put your cargo mods in the load order. Would they go above the trailer packs?
Hey wondering if you may be able to answer a problem I have with trucks not showing up after I download them or subscribe to the in the work shop... The only one I can get to show up is the Mack anthem any help would be appreciated... Also have the mood order like you have in this video and all seems to work fine thank you

I've had trailers that ended up with two different skins on them, is that because there grouped to close together or they are not compatible and one should be removed?

I get some of this, I guess the ones I downloaded don’t work. Not sure if I have to install updated to preform the mod 🤷♂️ I put them in the mod folder, but they don’t pop up in the mod selection.
nice, you have made this video really well kudos on that, , however there are some mods i have tried to use which i don't see here and one type which i still have no idea about. traffic mods and the bug bearer economy mods, which i want to install to make the game more challenging but always experiencing crashes, as i do with when i've tried to install a few truck mods, i have my list similar to this but what happens even though these truck mods are the current latest versions, they don't appear in the jobs list, and because there is no name you don't know which is the problematic mod , it would of really helped if the crash log file highlighted hat caused the crash, i mean that would really! help...jeje anyway thx man definately learned something regardless
im having issues with my mods,mainly the maps,i used to have them a few months ago,they were working,but started crashing my game,so i got rid of all of them so i was stuck in the states where you start playing in unless they were DLC or in steamworkshop,ive decided to try again,i found mexico,but didnt know about the mexico skins,or those mouuntain ones,i have the us expansion,i found the canada one,the current c2c for 1.34 and ont for a city in navada starting with a T,but heres my issues,after i have them in mod manager and lined up like they should,(i have those 2 new mods for mexico),the games crashing,when it did show the map at 1 time i onlly saw the basic areas where you 1st start and my dlcs,and i saw mexico,but not canada or the rest of the US,when i tried that mod with the city in nevada starting with a T,it said in compatiable in mod manager,so i took it out,the rest are there but i cant get it to work,when i saw your maps in your mod manager i saw everything except for c2c map so how did you get it to work without c2c mod,i do have google ad block,and an app for WINRAR,so what am i doing wrong,do i even need c2c or not,cuz i dont see it in yours?

I really wish ScS would rework the mod section and how it works there should be categories, trucks , trailers, maps etc.

Ty for explaining how mod manager should work, just watching and listening made me think of what mods arent working "just right". Speaking of mods, this for FTG or anyone who figured it out. On the Peterbilt 389 i seen you have both mods, does it only work if you have both V 2.0 and V1.31 beta? I seen this in many videos but i cant get it to work, crashes my game. Other than that, im going to the drawing board and again ty for the informative video :)
Yes john. The normal truck mod is on bottom and the 1.31 open beta fix goes above the truck mod. That's the way mine is.

What about doing standalone Trailers and skins for those Trailers? All Trailers below the Skins for them, or do we have to alternate on the list like trailer then skin, trailer then skin etc?
I like doing my skins above the trailers and specially now we have combo skins for multiples etc. in that case I stack all the skins above the trailers.

Honestly jazzy cats stuff should just go with the other trailers. Put it at the end of the list or at the top of the list. I don't personally run them but i would stick to only running one major pack like that Don't mix his and say someone else's trailer pack together. Your just asking for crashes and problems.

Hi FTG love watching your videos absolutely alot of help especially this one being im new to the ats world I had one question. Being this video is a few yrs old do you still setup your mod list the same way still yet? I've got the ruda trucks aswell as Texas chrome shop truck a long with a few more paid mods but I find myself only putting in one truck at a time. How do you setup your list with only one profile you have especially with ruda and Texas chrome trucks there alot of mods that goes with those trucks whats the best way to install them being able to keep them in list. Also with the jbx graphics how is that setup because of there order they say to it is not like how you make your list im confusing myself trying to figure it out I always get crashes because I think I have it in wrong orders possible any help pls buddy when possible 👌🏽👍🏽
I still run things the same as they are in this video. One thing you may need to watch out for with some of these more complicated trucks that implement a lot of mod files, is to separate your profiles. That means either creating them your self, or downloading modded profiles from mod site sources. I have one for ATS in the discord. Basically, it just allows you to separate those heavy mods. Best thing honestly is to come into the discord and try to ask someone for help. I've taught a lot of people how to do it, and most of the time they don't mind helping others that are eager to learn.
It's been "FIVE YEAR's"! With all the update's and such that SCS has done since. Does it still hold water?
I've recently seen a video, which thumbnail is extremely simular. But it seem's to be the reverse order.
Having a list of the way I activated my mod's using the five year old video, I activated all my mod's as tbe one that look's like this one but seem's backward's. And NOTHING worked. Changed it back using my list, and boom, everything worked again.

I notice you don't use any AI traffic mods, what is your opinion on them?
It depends on on how much traffic they add. i like them alot but they also need a lot of resources to produce all the extra traffic.

@@8484terry if they add lots of traffic and just populate more, then yes. Other than those mods you're right, the ones that just change the traffic behavior or add a certain load or cargo, probably won't have much impact.
where does traffic pack on list?
Typically higher in the order than trailers trucks and accessories.
Any thoughts why Mexico mod crashes as soon as I get into Mexico?
Make sure you are in 1.31 and double heck and make sure you are in 2.4.4 of the map. Do you have any other maps aside from viva?
Full Tilled Gaming That's the only one I have... I downloaded the three parts to the Mexico map 2.4.4 twice and it did it both times.. Each time was when I got past the border and started into Mexico..

What’s the best way to find out what mod crashes your game
Practice knowing which mods typically gives you problems, and also process of elimination.

Start with map and go back to the same area and see what happens. If not move to the trailers and so forth until you start finding the group and then narrow by adding one by one. It takes awhile but that’s just how it is. If you’re using the console, you can narrow it down but you have to know what you’re looking for.

Why would you still try to install mods from a site which you require an anti virus?
anit virus is just for the adware that guys make the mistake of adding to their browser windows. Part of this is guys upload to websites which make money to pay modders or up-loaders of off the ads you are shown while your waiting for your download to complete. Most of all it is adware to add to your browser so they can track what you're looking at to target ad sell you think.
