Why the sudden background music? Let him talk. It's irritating.
Extremely irritating.
Monumentally irritating
Agreed, it really bothers me. Adds no value to the message.
100% agree. It must be some A.I. added B.S. like the voice over.
FUNDAMENTALLY irritating.
MUSIC IS A DISTRACTION FROM THE ACTUAL CONTENT OF THE VIDEO WE WANT TO HEAR.....
Shut up.
Yeah, what's up with that? I thought his phone was ringing 😮
the 'music' is highly intrusive to the voices.
Please get rid of the bizarre New Age music
Would anyone care to enlighten me as to why Christianity is crucified for our three hundred year experiment with chattel slavery... all while Islam gets a total pass?!??
And the muslim world even today practices slavery. It's as Jesus said,"the world hates me, so it will hate you."
Because it's closer. Most people are uneducated on the topic of slavery in general, including the Middle East. We have movies like Roots and Jango Unchained that portray some of the more horrific elements of slavery in the U.S. and people relate to a story. And like almost any philosophy or belief sister, self centered power hungry people tried to hijack Christianity multiple times in its history for personal gain including trying to use the Bible to justify slavery. It's partially a result of being uneducated on the full picture, and partially because people will latch into the things that allow them to believe what they wish to believe.
It's simple. The perception is that Christianity's experiment with slavery was utterly and wholly whites enslaving blacks. Any other flavor of slavery is intentionally overlooked.
Key word here is “ Christianity “. A Christian nation would have no need of slavery. De-humanizing people also made in the image of God. Capitalist greed with true Christian people beguiled into believing it’s ok.
@@davidvia6897 ... Capitalist Greed?!?... Just who made every effort to destroy *_slavery_* world wide?? The Capitalist, former slave state, of Britain!?! Where is slavery still practiced today? Islamic countries!
And lose the weird music that drowns him out.
FREEBIRD!!!
Please get rid of the music. It’s distracting and unnecessary
I agree.
Where was the "Arrogant Feminist"? Clickbait
Agree! Where are they?
It was clickbait but luckily I found this far more interesting lol
I agree. Stop the music! It interferes
The proposition in the 1619 project that "slaves" were first brought to North America in 1619 is factually inaccurate. The Native Americans had slaves.
We could go one step further and say the proposition that the only people affected by slavery were Africans is factually inaccurate.
All cultures had slavery throughout history.
Not only that, some African tribes had slaves.
And the Portuguese and Spanish slave traders imported their slaves to the colonies in the 1500s. The Marxist-Fascist revisionists leave out history and manufacture narratives to avoid dealing with reality.
@user-jm7fr6oc1o and they still do...
Please get rid of the music. It’s not helping. He is enough.
I was watching the video and then noticed the comment on getting rid of the music. What music I thought. That that moment it started. Odd how these CZcamsrs think extraneous, annoying music adds to their videos.
Just to let you know, the new age music fits perfectly with Peterson's Gnosticism.
The colorful laser lights aren’t really improving his words either.
Background music is a distraction.
Husbands serve their wives and wives serve their husbands. My wife's well being is more important to me than my own well being because I have decided to Love her.
Ephesians 5 right?
Men and women are equal but different. We compliment each other’s strengths and weaknesses.
As the good Lord asked of us men.
@@raulcastro925 Amen brother.
would you have married her if you did not love her?
Please drop the music.
I agree. It interferes.
No noise please
Lose the music. It's very distracting
You’re talking to an AI powered content thief. Just be happy you got to see the clip.
Where’s the feminist
That’s the culture he’s talking about. It’s actually the Bible itself if you’re paying attention.
Not a fan of AI overvoice. Be a real person. Use your voice.
Good call! Gettin' tired of that $hit already!
Can't watch or listen with the music.
My experience has been the less someone knows about the Bible, the more confident they are in being critical of it. The absolute experts and denying the Bible or the ones who never read a page of it. 😄
Crappy music is distracting. I stopped the video when it started.
Ya lost me when you inserted the music, WTF?
Couldn’t listen to this once that music was added. Why was that added?!
To piss you off I reckon. It's working that's for sure I must say.
@@bigg4454 I found it strange and disappointing because I couldn’t listen to what Jordan Peterson was saying. But, my feelings weren’t strong enough to say I was peeved.
By media to distract and keep you from hearing truth.
Peterson is absolutely one of the greatests minds ever!!!!
The love of control of others is alive and well today, particularly on the left.
I don't think it's just on the left, I think manipulation and control of others is pretty much universal
Spot on Jordan...👍👌💖👌👍
Yes, the music sucks and the deletion of the actual clip showing the debate between Jordan and the feminist is rather disturbing as well. We don't need a commentary on what Jordan said. We want to hear from him what he said.
Equal worth doesn't mean equal authority.
Post the printing press, the Christians had the notion that literacy is important because they believed that every person should be able to read the Word of God for themselves, the idea being that a Christian society would be the most orderly and just.
If the Bible does nor condone slavery, it appears that Paul in the New Testament did when he commanded slaves to obey their masters. The OT also gives directions on how slaves should be treated, even allowing a slave-owner to beat his slave within an inch of his life but forbidding him from avtually killing his slave,
Condoning and addressing the realities of the time, that time in particular, are two different things.. obviously.
Yes that is right, we have to remember that from Adam and Eve sinning till now God has allowed humans to do things their way ( up to a point of course)
@@clintsheesley8449 if the rules are ancient and "of that time", then why do we still follow it? Are we cherry picking? And if we are how do we know what's good or bad if we cherry pick the holy book??🤔
@@coyoteccI don't think you understand what I meant
@@clintsheesley8449 please explain then. Sorry I misunderstood
I find the music a tad distracting.
Why the music? Please stop.
So.............
Why the music? I spent a good amount of time thinking, why?
Feminists read the Bible? This is a joke, right?
Very interesting, but why the music? Very intrusive!
EVIL HAS ALWAYS DELIBERATELY MISQUOTED THE BIBLE EVEN BEFORE MOSES CAME DOWN THE MOUNTAIN!!!
"WOE UNTO..." IS GONNA BE FULFILLED!!!
It’s not always evil, usually it’s ignorance.
@Wayne55125 "Evil Hides" among ignorance. This is the "reasoning" behind "Ignorance of the Law is not a defense".
@@Wayne55125... And sometimes it's just people who don't fall into that silliness...
How can you misquote the bible when it's written in black and white??
Also we have no original copies, no testimony and numerous language translations and rewrites so I suppose, technically, those are.....misquotes🤔
If only we had ppl like this leading the nations
Jordon rightly recognizes how the OT raises the value of women far above other cultures surrounding the Jewish people…and he uses language similar to Locke’s social contract that was the founding principle of the US Republic but…
Jordon still say he holds to a combination of Hobbs’ and Rousseau’s social contract …seems disintegrated😮
Hope he is able to adopt the Biblical worldview, give his life to Christ, and adopt Locke and the Scottish Reformation as central founding principles of American Republic Democracy😮
It appears the good Doctor found that for which he was seeking during his pilgrimage. Good on him.🎉
people who fell on hard times, would work for someone who could support their food, for their family, until things got better,.and sometimes they decided to stay their choice,.
In anciet times the captives were lucky to be made slaves instead of being killed and eaten
That was more common than people want to thonk about. Hunter gatherers can't waste anything. Example: those Aztec human sacrifices. The priest usually ate the heart and the rest was divided among the populace.
There was a female voice but nothing that would identify her as a feminist. Also she was in agreement and clarifying JPs comments so I have to ask, where was the feminist?
clickbait
The enlightenment was a post-Biblical justification of morality that was already justified by the Bible.
Tooth for tooth, hand for hand, eye for eye and life for life had no gender exclusionary clause.
Cut the loud background music..!! jeez!
Anyone who thinks Peterson is a Christian is mistaken. He has never said he was, and makes his points in relation to all religions in Maps of Meaning. Don't argue with me; instead read his book.
They have added the voice over and the music and the stupid graphics because they fundamentally have stolen the video from Dr Peterson's side or from the daily wire. This is a person who is profiting on someone else's work.
Never did see the feminist attacking Peterson.
Really something to consider.
Love the dialogue, hate the distracting excuse for musical accompaniment ... All talk no music preferred....
At 3.20: to my knowledge, the first abolition of slavery happened in France (royal edit early xIII century, saying: any person that touches the soil of the kingdom of France is free (or no longer a slave). Of course to admit this we need to cease to consider that slavery was something born in America and concerning solely the « commerce triangulaire » but rather could have concerned anybody in Europe throughout the middle ages.
So the claim that abolition is an English concept seems… rather anglo centric
There have been many abolition movements and eras throughout history. France may have toyed with it but it didn’t last long, obviously. The 13th century preceded the slave trade as we understand it today and while I’m not entirely familiar with the edict, I’m sure it had more to do to disrupting foreigners’ coming into the country.
In England it was actually earlier than that, 1086. In fact, there was a law against owning slaves in England and become a part of common law. During the trans-Atlantic slave trade (where a law was given to allow owning slaves overseas) there were no slaves within Britain itself. There were some challenges to this, the first case Butts v. Penny in 1677, where Chief Justice Holt rejected and denied the possibility of owning or selling someone within England: "as soon as a negro comes to England he is free; one may be a villain (criminal) in England, but not a slave." Eventually, as you know, in 1807 Parliament outlawed the African slave trade by legislation.
@@abehambino Well, like @gooner answer below also mentions about England, after the Xiii century ban, Slavery was never re-established in France. Now, like our fellow English friends, Slavery was indeed authorised in (French) colonies. Then, to make things clear: France abolished slavery in the "recent period" before any other country: in 1791. And Napoleon re-established slavery in Haïti (French colony at he time) around 1804....until it was banned again in 1848.
Ok so let us take a bit of distance:
European countries (France, England...) were the first, and maybe they were the only countries that 1/ questioned Slavery and 2/ abolished slavery, before other "regions" in the World.
A counterexample: Saudi Arabia officially abolished slavery around 1960... but it has been going on since then in Arabic countries (and there are slave markets in Lybia and - undercover - in Sinaï desert in the present time...
My father who served in French army in Mauritania in the years 1956-1958 when doing his military service, also told ¡me that Mauritanians had slaves there at that time.
Another element about slavery in Europe in Middle Ages:
Europe had the "serf": a peasant that was "attached" to the land it was working ion,... to the point where if the land was sold, the "serf" would "follow" the change of land ownership... not to mention that the term "serf" is directly derived from the term "serves" which in latin means: slave!
Oups! in Latin: "servus" and not "serves"
Does the feminist know that newly married men were exempt from military service for 12 months so as to be a comfort for his wife? I read that. I think it might have been during the times round 10 century BC. In the Bible.
What feminist? Did I miss something?
Yes please get rid of the music and upload again
Thank you very much Professor Peterson you are one of our geniuses of our time. Thank you for telling these feminist. What really the Bible stands for
Can you please turn the music up?
I can still hear doc talking.
It’s pretty obvious that YT doesn’t want me to listen to JP so they added the noise
The music is nice.
I will admit to enjoying you in toe to toe debates, but then I also like undefeated seasons.
The overblown music is an attempt to slyly shout him down.
This is such a good discussion but the music is SOOOOO annoying and distracting.
Absolutely awesome as usual. I never saw the Bible that way.
She is mistaking TheBible for the coran
Show the clip..
Then narrate before or after
I love that he openly admits human faults unlike all his opposition claiming their goodness.
Thank you, Dr. Peterson, for your diligent research, your thoughtful conclusions and your courage in presenting them in crystallized form.
The music accompanying this video was too distracting.
It is truly amazing what people will believe just as long it is not in the bible.
Keep the music. Good listeners know how to work past the music and hear what is being said.
This has NOTHING to do with the title. I hate when channels to this to click bait you.
Music is very DISTRACTING
Why is there that annoying music when Jordan is speaking?
i, too, find the music background irritating. Drop it, please. Not needed
COOL THE MUSICAL CLOCK. that is very distracting.
It was interesting until the music started and could continue listening. Why spoil it with music?😞
Jordan making good points, as always, but the feminist does not appear anywhere in the video!
At 3.00: war being a way through which many humans were abducted to slavery, certainly, but one could make reference to David Graber ( in his book: « la dette: 5000 ans d’histoire ») and the link he made between the debt mechanisms in ancient societies and the example of parents forced to abandon one child to their creditor as a way to repay their debt.
Men are to submit to women just as women are to submit to men.
Please get rid of the weird AI voice over ! I’m a voice over artist… and I love JP, you’ll find someone who can do it for you that’s not a robot. Also… that music comment is spot on! 😂😂😂
Clickbait title here mind.
Christ treated women equally. some old testament women were very important. read book of Esther
Mr J. Peterson is very smart man and all the idiots want to silence him .
Question: Maybe its meant to be a distraction
Hey Jordan, as to feminism as an idea, there are 7 prophetesses. There is one of them, Debora, who was not only a prophetess and a judge but she was also a war strategic.
In Book of Hosea chapter 2 verse 16 (in the English translation): 'On that day, says the Lord, you will call me, “My husband,” and no longer will you call me, “My Baal.”' In the Hebrew source it appears in verse 18 not 16, there the term BAAL means "בעלי" i.e. my owner, and it is replaced by an egalitarian term "אישי" i.e. my man.
About slavery, there was an understanding that slavery wont be abolished at once, so in the bible there were laws that put a very heavy restrictions on the owner (no more then 7 years of slavery and better conditions) and fines on the slave (by piercing their ear) who does not wish to gain his freedom after 7 years.
This very morning I was reminded of an Israeli women group for leadership called "Debora Forum". The women members of that forum have made a reputation for themselves as women who were close to decision making centers, like intelligence, like army and so on. They are not engaged on nonsense like contemporary feminism in the West (which I call pseudo feminism) They are simply practicing it.
Isaac and his wife Rebekah. Isaac was blind when he blessed Jacob over Esau. Rebekah helped Jacob win over Esau by cooking goat over venison. Isaac was duped. Isaac blessed Jacob, who fled to find Rachel a wife .
Well stated
In this video, where is the feminist attack & regret?
The music playing is the way you have to play videos are made by someone else,it’s a copy right thing ,by changing the videos adding music and changing bits by leaving out some parts ,they are able to repost the video
Influencers teach people how to poach others' content without being caught. Adding music confuses the algorithm. Thanks for explaining this.
In Proverbs 31, the wife ran the business and her husband was in politics.
AMEN!!
1. Get rid of the music. 2. What happened to the feminist ?
I was watching until the music started
this is insanity.
For sure men and woman were equal with woman having more control of the husbands decisions
Peterson will never be the voice of reason we need for two reasons.
1. His superstitious belief that in his words, ‘only believers in the Judeo-Christian monotheism can be morale or wise.
2. His hypocritical cowardice in refusing to identify our women’s movement, Gloria Streinem proudly prefers the term FemiNazi to her own feminism, as the source of this war on science and nature and as he never sided with us at the UofA defending Science from Creationist ‘faith before reason’, we already lost to laws now requiring Feminist Science founded upon ‘feelings INSTEAD of facts.’
Not just science teachers like my husband, unlike me an atheist, but the wisest and most morale man I know, but we Scientists as well.
Genesis 2:16 Your desire shall be for your husband. And he shall rule over you.
How convenient that you not only ignore the spirit of that quote, but also the ENTIRE CONTEXT of it.
I thought this was a debate!
The Byzantine Christians also had ended slavery too.
The music is super annoying , and unnecessary .
The music was added to drown him out. Someone did not like what he was saying.
