wilsons explanation about house overwriting the memory of the dream is 100% reasonable. its a very common phenomenon. house is being absurd.
As it turns out house is right though, he did know the soldier from somewhere else, so I'm guessing house knew he wasn't overwriting the memory of the dream.
@@ahumanbeingfromtheearth1502 how? while obviously that's implied its clear he is at the very least being irrational and egoistical thinking he is exempt from a very common and natural phenomenon
@@filthyjones6150 thats the point of house lol its like the shows theme
every episode he goes against the most reasonable and morally correct answer but then hes always right anyway ahaha
@@jamesbinnie8765 the theme of the show had never been house's answer being immoral. Rather the show always questions what it means to be moral. House is a very morally driven person, but his morals tend to value human lives over bureaucracy. And while clearly house is the superman of the House universe, practically omnipotent, its purely fun to point out the hypocracy in his actions. Had another patient been this stubborn then house would call them an idiot and he would again turn out right.

Is nobody going to acknowledge the fact that House is such an absolute unit, he can just casually insert a catheter into HIMSELF, alone, wear it to bed, and not feel it slip out?! Not to mention, he dreamed about wearing it to work around his ankle. Which implies he was already planning on doing exactly that. I'm speechless... 😵
I don't know how it could of slipped out either, unless he didn't fill the balloon for whatever reason
I was in a coma for 12 days once. The doctor told me I ripped mine out in my sleep multiple times. So it is possible even with the balloon inflated. It did hurt like Hell though.
@@Satans_Little_Helper
>I was in a coma for 12 days once
how was it?
@RayJewels Horrible, honestly, the coma itself was bad it felt like a 7 year-long nightmare, but when I woke up, it was horrible as well. I had no idea at the time, but laying in a bed for that long created muscle degradation so bad that I couldn't even raise an arm after I woke up. Took me a while to even stand again, let alone walk or run. Plus, the doctors forgot to hydrate my eyes as often as they should have, and it created scar tissue. The tube down my throat was hell on my vocal cords. When I got out of the hospital, I couldn't walk, see things clearly, or even speak normally for over a years time.
@@Satans_Little_Helper Wow! I wouldn't have thought that a coma that brief would do so much damage.

Amen broda! Let's see what I got in my back pocket... Sweet. You wanna pop a Joy!? :D
Always question your dreams. It's your brain's way of telling you something.
And never underestimate the importance of your pp 🙏
I know that for a fact! Around May of this year, my mother had 2 similar dreams about me having a new relationship with a guy who was very handsome. She said he looked very similar to Ed Sheeran because of the hair color and style. However, she said that in the dreams he seemed a little too interested in my salary, and how much I make in general for how new the relationship was. She told me that in the dreams she pulled me aside and told me to be very careful with him beause it looked like he just wanted my money. 2 similar dreams, same people, different locations (a street market and a mall), and same topic. One month later me, and my co-worker lost our jobs due to cost cutting. It was honestly for the best though. I found one that requires half the amount of weekly hours, and pays better. I have some gnarly dreams too.
carol9909 Did the guy show up? Or did he go in another direction?
-you didnt flush
-I didnt pee

why is that funny?
He poop?
MyOpinion he pooped in a urinal?
Wash yer hands anyway, House.
About shaking someone's hands, look up how many males fail washing after using bathroom. Among women, the percentage is higher. Even though House didn't pee, he still handled his Jimmy.
It would've been a cool premise if House was a retired Army Medic and that's where he picked up his cynical personality and "do anything" to diagnose and treat a patient. Could even make his case to not lose his leg stronger by either having fellow soldiers lose a leg and still know them and them have "issues" with a fake legs as well or something
Might I recommend The Night Shift with Eion Macken if you haven't seen it already?
It would also gone with the whole sherlock thing they were going with, since Watson was a combat medic it would've been a neat twist that house the stand in for Holmes be in the military. Probably having something to do with his dad, but then being disillusioned with authority, beurocracy that kind of thing because of a incident that led to him being injured and in turn being disillusioned with his dad and society as whole being a cause of his whole antisocial behavior along with his addiction being a coping mechanism from what he suffered on tour. It's actually cool to think about headcannon wise.
Yeah but it wouldn't explain his atheism, there's an old saying amongst soldiers who've seen combat: "ever met an atheist in a foxhole? Me neither."
Army medic here, agreed.
@@jblockman_59nunyabidnis68 Plenty of soldiers are also Atheists. That saying is just bullshit. You can argue it equally likely that being rendered into a foxhole and watching all your friends die would do as much to *distance* you from god.

Oh my God, I have such a fear of getting a catheter, I got one once when I was hospitalized for alcohol poisoning, I was lucky to never feel it go in, but i felt it coming out and it was pretty bad, it burned to pee for 3 days after that..I never got black out drunk again..lol
Lol good life lesson, and good life lessons are learnt the hard way.
i had to have one while in the hospital and the next morning they had to swap it out for another 1
Had one for a prostate exam. Wasn't as bad as I feared. Still no fun. Assumed House would have to resort to one. When all else fails, you gotta send in the tube.
Man must've been bad lube over that catheter. I got the exact same experience minus the pee burn for days. Mine didn't burn much after couple of hours.
My dad had serious sepsis. He experienced a lot of catheters and from what I heard it wasn’t fun.
House is the only man who could possibly wet himself, and react by smiling.
2:31 I see House and Wilson know the proper bathroom etiquette
Dimension is such a good song. The use of it here is awesome and really well done.
Especially, like how the recognizable little drum-heavy riff/beat comes in to tell us it's a dream with the singing coming in as House realizes.

Anyone ever have a military combat dream, but something's keeping you out of the fight? Like parachuting out of an aircraft only for the wind to take you miles off-course, where you spend the entire dream trying to get back only to wake up once you do. Or as soon as the shooting starts you have to assemble your guns, or load your magazines a bullet at-a-time.
No but I have had a dream where I was at the battle of Kursk as a German. And a highlight of that, when a T34 shot over my foxhole and hit the guy next to me, I pissed myself. By the end of the battle which the Germans won in my dream I was told I'd pissed myself and woke up to find I had
I've had dreams where I had to fire my weapon in self-defense, except that the trigger was so hard to squeeze - similar to when I was a kid and I tried to shoot those plastic toy guns that shoot the minisaucers. I had to squeeze the trigger with two hands just to get it to go off so my accuracy was horrible. Every time this happens, I go to the range that afternoon.
I’ve had dreams where I went to the bathroom to pee, end up waking myself up to slightly wet sheets. And then there’s the other type of wet sheets waking up to..

@@allenbackbone I catheterise 4 times a day, it really doesn't hurt
Well i have good memories with it. I once had a surgery on my knee. Reconstruction of one of ligaments inside the joint. I had anesthetic that left me with my body completely numb up to the middle of my abdomen. I also received a lot more fluids than i should. Anaesthesiologist was my moms friend and supposedly he did that becouse some people can have few months long migraine after having lost plenty of fluids or smth. All things considered good choice but noone thought about the fact that i will have full bladder. And it hurt like hell. The pain was somewhat similar to the kidney area pain you feel after getting strongly nutt kicked. Since i was numb from half abdomen down i couldnt pee on my own. So that was the only way. I actually know that this procedure can be difficult to do on a male but i was lucky enough to have someone very proficient in it nearby. I had completely busted knee so i actually wanted it in for as long as possible. Still to do it on yourself seems very dificult.

"I havent peed in three days"
"Youd be dead"
That cant be accurate
Can someone confirm this
If you still consume a reasonable amount of liquid and don't pee for a while (3 days seems correct), your bladder will literally explode, and that's usually fatal. There are numerous records of people containing themselves during long travel without interruptions and dying because of it.
Unless you havent drank anything or eaten any moist food previous to that, your bladder would explode. It has happened many times throughout history.
hold your pee for a few hours and see what you think
dont worry you wont die youll cave into the pain long before thatt happens
but yeah first you feel the need to go that builds and becomes painfull
eventually that will pass for a little bit
then the real pain will begin when your pee backfills to your kidneys (probably stop holding and go for a piss at this stage) youll feel intense pain in your back on either side combined with sweating and other things
beyond this your kidneys rupture
its not advisable to hold your pee
i consumed several litres of soda at a amusement park and didnt need to pee before we got in the car

You don't know what being in chronic pain mean. Small hint avoid it at all cost.
Good point. Counter point. Its House complaining and hypocrisy are two of his favorite things to do and feel. Aside from messing with people and insulting them.

This one required me to suspend belief. House would know the psychology of memories having blanks being filled in.
I don't think he didn't know it; he just dismissed it. Wilson thought it was more likely than House having seen the guy before, but House puts more stock in his memories and the workings of his mind than that.

The fact that this episode exists, in the major hit that is House MD, invokes the age-old question: WHY are there still so few references to bodily functions on TV? People in TV shows clearly pee, why are they still pretending?! It's just nature!
Because watching people go the bathroom doesn't often make for compelling drama. We don't usually see them shower or brush their teeth, either.
