Rui will be trade in a combo trade, wood can replace most of his production as he will be the back 4/5 special if he has a good offseason shooting. We need a guard that can give the other teams hell as well as they gave us. If Murray really had to play defense on one of our guards he would have been worn out. Image him having to guard kyrie or Donovan. Anthony Edwards and Shai are the only 2 both end of the court guards, everyone else is one sided. We need someone to help lebron at his age take the creating load off all year long. It ain’t dlo or Austin. They can both go.
Certainly not Trae Young but the Lakers definitely need a lead guard. We have seen Austin trying to run the offense, he’s not that guy, he is better suited as a secondary creator. You can’t ask LeBron in year 22 to be full time point guard, you want him to pick his spot, playing off ball, cutting etc….so need to upgrade the DLO position with guard like Mitchell or a Dynamic guard who can put the pressure on the defense. But of course we need to get bigger as well. Tough equation

The Lakers aren’t anywhere near close to contending for a title. Unless Lebron takes a big pay cut so we can add major talent this summer let’s just be happy with fighting for a play in spot again next year lol
Lebron taking a pay cut literally changes NOTHING. We are way over the cap, even if he takes the vet min, we’re still over the cap, which means we cannot bring in additional salaries other than vet minimums and MLE guys….
