First saw them shortly after Squire Parsons joined them at a outdoor concert with the Singing Americans and Jake Hess and son and daughter in West Kentucky on a 40 ft.flat bed trailer.I was hooked for good on Southern Gospel after that!!
So High is so good!
Love..u.. I like to hear your gospel singing you sound real good you're a good group love Libby Curry
The group and song from the great "Big and Live" album 1973
So awesome...thanks for posting this gem!!!
how much Jay Parrack looks and sounds like his dad!
Genetics, my man genetics. Both were and still are great Tenor singers.
Yeah but the older Parrack is the greatest tenor of all time. Jay is top 10 too. Johnny was absolutely incredible
@@blakeedmondson9573 I agree that Johnny Parrack is the best tenor of all time but I think Ernie Phillips was a little better and before you say it I know it doesn't make sense to say it that way but opinions don't always have to make sense
@@johntabler349 I wouldn't have said that at all. Phillips was better at those slow heart-wrenching type songs because his voice was so smooth. But Parrack's power and range in the upper levels is what puts him over the top for me
@@blakeedmondson9573 I think Jay tops his dad.
The most high
This is the group I remember from my childhood. Met them a couple of times when they'd come to town and make appearances on the local tv station. I used to hang out there after school with Sid Hughes the DJ and promoter and just watch him DJ and then tape his tv show. I got to meet several big name gospel groups that way. But the Kingsmen were always my favorite. Took my mom to see them when they recorded the Chattanooga Live album. Great show. Had the Dixie Echoes on the bill with them. They had that bass singer who was just out of this world good. Called him the "Arkansas Ridge Runner" young kid Eugene Hathcoat who was only around 18 yrs old but he had a deep ,really deep voice. And iirc the Florida Boys were on the bill too.
I wonder if that's John Broome on the drums
WOW !!!!!!!!!
Unbelievable
Anyone know about drummer John Broome where was he from
I think Elvis kind of copied their version.
