After some concern in yesterday's vlog as Andy was sick, plus further worries that we might not made the EuroTunnel in time, we made it to Belgium after all, and in plenty of time for Andy to head to the Belfry in Bruges for a 47 Carillon bell-ringing concert. He was very impressed!

ABOUT THE CHAPMAN FAMILY
Hello folks and welcome to The Chapman Family! We are Kevin (dad), Anna (mum), Lucy (age 17), Andy (age 15), Amy (age 13) and Dave (around 35 in dog years).
We're daily family vloggers with new videos out at 5pm every day UK time. We vlog about our daily lives, including life as an autism family (Andy is autistic) and lots of nerdy stuff because we just can't help ourselves!

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CHAPMAN FAMILY
When Kevin left his full-time job as a Computer Science teacher in July 2017, Anna was trapped in our house by our son Andy, who is autistic and had refused to go to school for 18 months. Our daughters Lucy and Amy and our dog Dave hardly saw him because he was always working to try and solve all our problems! Today we're full-time content creators and Kevin is always at home when the kids get home from school (all our kids!) and Anna has been able to return to university. This channel is the story of my family's ongoing journey as family vloggers! Previously known as lollujo Vlogs and Kevin Chapman.

Hi Kev! I was thinking while Andy was on his iPad, how does he cope with big software updates, with iOS 13 being released soon, as it changes how the device looks, like the app layout.

Hello Kev , Anna and Andy. I'm just amazed by the way Andy is handling himself recently. First with the hair cut earlier in the week and now his 1st day in Belgium. Its amazing how much he has changed from 2 years ago. All my congratulations go out to both of you 👍
How did he like the loft bed? Do you think he'd like one for his room with the underspace being used as a mini sensory area with lights and hung curtain from the bed

Bruges in beautiful - I've been a couple of times in December and with the Christmas markets as well it's awesome - albeit extremely cold.
I'd recommend Brussels for another time as it's chock full of trams for Andy and there's plenty of bells and a light show with the churches too at Christmas. And a comic book museum if Kev's into stuff like Tintin, I know you like your comics.
The bells are wonderful! Not just good! I don’t think they use all 47 in one song. You’ll know today if there is a song that does use all 47 bells.
Andy never ceases to amaze! Drinking water, and out of a bottle, sitting in a light rain, eating a menu item at a restaurant that’s not McDonald’s. Wow!
Thank you for the mini tour. I love the architecture! These mini trips to different countries is wonderful for me, I doubt I’ll ever get to see such a beautiful city.

Wow Andy has grown up so fast recently. I cant believe how deep his voice has gotten. Such a lovely young man
So strange how emotional a person (this person) can get watching a vlog of someone else's child sitting at a restaurant eating fish fingers off of a plate with other food on that plate and not even really noticing it was there. Everytime I see Andy in a setting like this, traveling around, sleeping in hotels, I think of him refusing to leave the house for a year and poor Anna basically a hostage in that house. Andy's progress is absolutely amazing and the two of you are some of the best examples of how to parent a child with autism with love, patience, and never giving up on your child. Not all hero's wear capes. Some wear cheeky T-shirts.....

It's so cool you can get to Belgium within a few hours! I live in the US and have never been to Europe before (Next year will be the first time I do.)

Belgium fries and in Holland known as Dutch fries are the best!!! 😋 We lived in Netherlands as my partner is Dutch and now in NZ, we travel 40 mins away to where we found Dutch fries. My son who has ASD, who has always had food and drinking issues loves Dutch fries. They are totally a meal 😊!!!

If you go to the right of the belfry then there is a Christmas shop and really good waffle shop. Then there is another smaller square where there is some of Jesus’ blood

Hey Kev, with Andy liking trams so much and now being comfortable travelling abroad, you could always go to Lisbon next.
They have some really historic trams and I think Andy would love it, plus the weather isn't too bad either😂.

Oh my god I stayed in one of those hostels when I went to Belfast, it was the exact same room and I though it was so cute and modern, I was the unlucky one who had to stay on the top bunk

I love the vids Kev keep it up, only one thing that gets me thinking sometime because the titles always say “autistic boy....” but I thought it was meant to be a family vlog, I know a lot of people talk about Andy and Andy is on the vlogs a lot but you say it’s a family vlog channel but I see more of Andy than anyone and the titles are always revolves around him
When someone is searching on CZcams they aren’t going to search for family listen to bells but they will and do search the term “autistic” which will then put the channel in their search results and suggested to watch list. Plus Kev was literally saying this week that it will likely soon just be him on the channel and less it Andy and the rest of the family
You're seeing more of Andy because he's on summer break when school starts back up we won't see much of him and yes these are family vlogs but there also insight for caretakers of neuro divergent people on day to day tips and tricks to make travel, diets and schooling possible/ go more smoothly
Imaginary Enemy makes sense, of course I wasn’t complaining because I love seeing how Andy handles situations and what he’s interested in and stuff but I just wondered why. Still love the vlogs and always will :)
