A young Middle Eastern man is killed on camera in what appears to be a hate crime.
From "Fear America" (Season 17, Episode 4): A young Middle Eastern man is killed on camera in what appears to be a hate crime. Detectives Ed Green (Jesse L. Martin) and Nina Cassady (Milena Govich) quickly learn that prior to the murder the victim had made a frantic 911 call to the Joint Terrorist Task Force and Detective Henry Paulsen (guest star John Viscardi), who joins in the investigation. Once the suspect, Ben Faoud (guest star Bernardo Pena) is apprehended, A.D.A.s Jack McCoy (Sam Waterston) and Connie Rubirosa (Alana De La Garza) succeed in convincing the F.B.I. that the suspect should be tried for murder. Faoud then hires high-power defense attorney Paul Robinette (returning guest star Richard Brooks), who demands the case be thrown out. S. Epatha Merkerson and Fred Dalton Thompson also star.

Hate crimes are bad enough, but a hate crime snuff film is next level.
Spolier:
The guy wasn't killed by White Supremacists, he'd gotten recruited by terrorists and became an informant for the FBI. Eric's wife finds out he's working with the police, and fearing that they'll send him to Guantanamo, she calls her cousin Ben, who, unknown to her, was one of the terrorists. Ben intercepts Eric on the way to his police contact, and kills him while posing as a white supremacist. Ben is found guilty of murder, and after the trial the mosque that Ben, Eric, and Eric's wife had belonged to is attacked by arsonists.
thank-you! I appreciate you letting me know it was a spoiler and moved down far enough not to share it right away. Do you do this often? If yes, thanks, is there any way to "follow" you?
For real?
Man, I feel bad for the people who were attacked by the arsonists. I like mosques, they look nice
That's much less interesting than having it be White supremacists. Its also way less prevalent and thus important to talk about even during its time. Edit I think I messed up my wording here. I was trying to say that even during the time Law and order ran White supremacist terrorist attacks were more prevalent than middle eastern terrorist attacks in America
@@alexbrown7708 I think it's interesting that terrorists are intelligent enough and have the potential to use reverse psychology like this on the misinformed public.
Using the same bigotry and hatred born in the same country as a weapon to trick/misguide people. Enticing them into more violence.
It says a lot about manipulation of the masses through false media.
@@mrhappyface221 Its also much less grounded in reality.
This was so raw......for Law and Order.
This is left wing propaganda
@Ronkyort0dox Do not post bullshit on my comments!!! I don't care if it is left or right
@@Ronkyort0dox If anything this shows how a lot of left wing propaganda is made by the left and no one ever talks about it. Like that time A Swastika was painted on a Church with Trump written next to it and then later a Far Left Radical admitted to it. There are more Far right terrorists attacks from the Far Left than the Far Right. And of course the media never ever covers it because its against the Far Left Narrative.
@@vinceedwards3978 fr, dudes think they can talk politics randomly and be seen as smart.
@Falcon 1 My friend, I know I post tons about politics. But here.....on a Law and Order post? Confusing
She could have said "teenagers" not specifying black. By saying black teenagers it implies she wouldn't have crossed the road if the teenagers were white which yes does make her racist.
I wonder how safe she'd feel in a white fraternity house at 1 o'clock in the morning?
It's the over confidence for me. She said it like she was proud.
I would have crossed too
Um, I see your point, but what she says doesn't make that implication.
Or Mexican, or asian, or Pacific islander, or jamaican. Maybe YOU wanted to imply racism. And no I'm not defending her. Just pointing out your victim knighting.
"If I defend racial profiling, does that make me racist?"
...yes.
No. There's a huge difference between preconceived analytics verses racial intolerance.
@@TheMightyNno... you're just being racist with fancy words.
If I see a white guy with a long trench coat should I start pulling the fire alarm?
@@TheMightyN except her example is flawed
late at night, she says shed be scared of 3 black teens walking towards her
by that parameter if it was 3 white teens walking towards her she'd be fine
that example is not valid to dismiss her being racist
@@mrroboshadow Who wouldn't be intimidated by a group of Tupac wannabes? Just this week 3 black teens hijacked a women's car resulting in her death. Actor Johnny Wactor became a victim of car theft and died just because the suspects saw him. Elsewhere, the UK talks about Muslims disrupting their society due to their hostility; same can be said with gangs in the US. Apart from the cartels, some African Americans individuals aren't the nicest to come by.
Oh I remember this episode, this episode scared me so much with that opening as a kid. I don’t know , maybe it was the way the acting in the intro
This scared me just watching it just now :(
The final scene of this episode, when the Imam is standing outside of his burned out mosque, and McCoy asks him what Ben said in the courtroom, and he tells him “burn.” McCoy then asks him what he said in reply, and the imam says “God Bless the United States of America.”
Post 9/11 US in a nutshell
god bless America indeed. this country doesn't belong to a specific race. it doesn't matter where'
someone is from, if they are living on American soil, they're Americans. God, if you ever bless this once great country, please get rid of the people filled with hate towards others
This country belongs to us natives Americans above all else but there’s so much land to share anybody is welcome here to live in peace but it’s still OUR ancestral land that terrorists took from us
I agree but this is indigenous land not American land
@@FrogWitch666 I was going to agree and like your comment but your disgusting profile picture ruined it.
This Country Was Taken From The Real Owners
God has forsook us, as he should.
OMG! It's on right now. Awesome
I remember this episode from season 17
Well that escalated quickly.
My parents told me to never judge a book by its cover and this an example to remember
I judge books by their cover. heck if I saw a book with my face as the cover, I would read it straight away
I remember the episode's cold open being censored in Ireland
Good
I remember that too, shame
@@Ronkyort0dox Yeah it's probably for the best
Well, considering their history... I was thinking that actually. The belaclavas reminded me of IRA.
Hate crime and child crimes, two of the worst crimes ever
vast majority of media reported hate crimes turn out to be hoaxes since the supply of racism unless against whites is non existent.
Not even close
Fabricating hate crimes you mean?
@@retropirate1you’re kidding right
except it wasn't a hate crime didnt you watch the whole video?
it was a setup to look like a hate crime to generate support for thier terrorism
is it just me or does the guy with the gun at the beginning sound like Planktom
I remember that opening.
The last episode Paul Robinette appeared in law and order besides Chicago
5:57 It's fat Dom from the sopranos! The one Sil and Carlo stabbed
noticed that too
Oh wow, it's the other way around. Like anyone would believe that for a second.
Its actually not that stupid. Its a false flag attack the other way around. He probably hoped that a lot of his kinsmen would see it, turn around and join his cause.
And even if that does not happen, he still gets the police into the exact opposite direction. Its kinda clever
So this episode is "What if real life but in reverse?"
That first guy sounds like a SpongeBob voice actor. "Oh brother, this guy stinks!"
omg what the hell dude ?!!!!!
😳
Unfortunately titled. Dies sounds like he didn't got murdered.
I remember when this was on my mom turned it off.
4:52-5:02.
I'll inform the nearest fraternity how feel. Maybe you'll feel safer with *them* at 1 o'clock in the morning.
Even black people cross the street when a group of black teens are around at 1am
@@demanischaffer But not a group of white teenagers, right?
🙄
@@aggressiveattitudeera887 A group of teens wandering the street at 1am is bad buisness no matter the race

"There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery. Then look around and see someone white and feel relieved."

@@aggressiveattitudeera887 Actually, it's a pretty famous quote by Rev. Jesse Jackson,"I heard some teenagers come up behind me, turned around ,and was relieved to see it was a bunch of white kids."
Thought it was going to be a spoof death from the painfully bad acting.
This era of law and order besides svu was a decline in general, 06-07, we got rubirosa and one more year of McCoy and Green, but the drop off was immense, even with S21 being out, this is only barely better if not about the same
Remember when the cast of Criminal Intent kept on changing? Being in Van Halen was a more secure job role then being cast and Criminal Intent.
@@Chelaxim bobby goren was one of my favourites. Vincent d'onofrio collapsed on set and had to reduce hours for exhaustion. Then chris noth. Jeff goldblum. Different captains. New direction 'too' focused on goren. A mess.
But same for OG l&o.

Goren was the only reason I watched
The more I rewatch this season the more I start to understand why people don’t like Nina Cassasdy
Who cares she’s fine asf
What happened in the end?
turned out the victim's wife found out that he'd gone informant. fearing he'd be wrongfully sent to Gitmo, she called her cousin(the guy arrested at the end of the clip), not knowing that he was part of a terror cell. he intercepted the victim on his way to the meet with the detective and killed him, staging it to look like a hate crime. in the end, he's convicted of murder and a mosque is hit by an arsonist, illustrating the continuation of violence
For dudes that hate terrorists so much, they kinda didnt mind emulating them
4:47 the concept is lost on cops, even in fictional shows lol... yes, defending racial profiling is what racists do. They also defend racial stereotypes.
COOL.......
Was I the only one that thought the actor in the beginning was plankton from SpongeBob?
Is that planktons voice?
He didn't step out of faith, muslim men can marry outside of the religion but not cheat.
