I can't believe people expected this to be a serious film. One of it's primary characters is a machine gun wielding Raccoon... who's best friend is a talking tree. I think we all knew this would be more comedic than most films. Idk. I may be crazy.
that talking tree happens to be a King uses 1 word to converse everyone else but nobody understands his language except for 1 being and it's not the raccoon. The raccoon does not just use machine guns, rpgs and rocket launchers are some of his favourite weapons and occasionally plasma/laser weapons, wait no i them as well regularly :D

EmeraldWings90 I think 'Hooked on a Feeling' will be the memorable Guardians of the Galaxy's song, just like Iron Man and AC/DC. The song is a bit weird though XD - and yes I have the blasphemous music video by David Hasselhoff.
EmeraldWings90 Given that Peter Quill (Star Lord) was taken from Earth aged 9, it makes sense he'd cherish the music of that time (hence his possessiveness of the tape player). That and the fact that the movie is meant to be light-hearted, since GotG comics tend to have plenty of humour in them. ^.^

Let me just say this...if Marvel/Disney can pull this off and GotG becomes another Iron Man 1...there'll be no stopping the House of the Mouse and the House of Ideas! Especially if they can grab an audience that has absolutely no idea who these characters are. I've been reading Marvel comics since I was six maybe (1971)--I'd never thought I'd see the FF, Avengers, Cap etc made into major motion pictures, well made and box office blockbusters (though still waiting for the Black Panther film-c'mon already). I've got to give it to them for going for Guardians--risky--but if it pays off...

Here's an interesting fact for non-comic book fans: The Guardians of the Galaxy in this case is primarily based on the 2008 team and that includes in particular: Star-Lord, Gamora, Nova, Drax, Rocket Raccoon and Groot. Yondu is the only team member from the original 1969 team. In this instance, it's attempting to merge two teams from different timelines into one satisfying superhero team so that the general audience will be amused throughout the entire movie.

thebaziks323 I've loved these characters since the 70's even though they are not the original team. Was kinda bummed they didn't use the original team at 1st, but understand why! But who knows what they'll do. Don't be surprised if they do bring the original team in, there's no limits here! Love Rocket and Srarlord. Didn't care for this team in the comic run of the 90's but loved the Marvel Previews Magazines. Love these characters though!
Brad Koski heard Yondu makes an appearance in the film. I think its a shame they didn't put Phyla Vell and Moon Dragon in the movie, or Mantis. I would also loved to have seen Cosmo on the big screen.

We tend to forget how talented these movie producer are - that song at the end was so perfect, it went so well with the feeling of the movie.

JakeLift Interstellar will be great (we hope), loved Inception, Batman Begins, Dark Knight and Momento but sadly even Nolan has done bad movies, The Prestige was awful and even Dark Knight Rises had tones of flaws pretty meh/bad. Im sure it will be good but i do prefer fun loving films more than serious films, films where i can relax turn my brain of an just enjoy :). Those are my kinda films, but Interstellar will be awesome im sure.
AnimeFan Capt America 2 looks awesome, its based on one of the best comics ever and Capt Americas probably most famous one. But i love space and space mythology more and that's what GotG is :) im also a huge fan of Nova and Green Lantern.

I'm amazed by all these people that would rather have a generic superhero movie as opposed to this one. Most movies like ironman 3, man of steel, etc are nice but they never get anywhere near to impressing me. It's the same shit every time.

I know absolutely nothing about Guardians of the Galaxy, so I'm excited for this, I'm a big fan of spiderman, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, and I was a little let down by most of those movies, but this I'm excited for.
Yes, I have no knowledge of any back story, I have not idea of any character traits that define them, I have no expectations whatsoever.
Don't get me wrong though, If its a bad movie in the end, I probably wont enjoy it, but seeing as how I was dissappointed with most of the other marvel movies because I had prior knowledge to story arches, and character traits, this one may come out and surprise me because I have no prior knowledge, and I hope it does.

I still enjoyed a few of them, but it was the majority I didn't like, If none of them had any prior information, I would have probably enjoyed them, but its just how they took something that was already a solid story, and took parts of it, and built practically a new story around it, (It wasn't as bad as Dragon Ball Evolution or The Last Airbender movies, but that's whole different thing).

John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey is a bit odd. Rhomann Dey is supposed to be a high ranking Nova Corps officer who is killed and gave the power to Richard Rider, who became the Marvel hero known as Nova. (FYI, Xandar is the HQ for the Nova Corps and the two officers are wearing Nova Corps uniforms).
If you've seen "Gangs of New York" You'd see he can play a serious role surprisingly well. He's not just an over the top slapstick comedy actor. Even "Wreck it Ralph" is a slight leap from his work with Will Farrel and his voice acting was believable and enjoyable in that film in my opinion. Don't lose faith!

Watch the perfect storm and gangs of New York and tell my John C. Reilly can't be taken seriously that man is a fucking beat when it comes to acting can't wait to see him in this.

I don't really know anything about the comics this film is based on, so i can't judge, but yea he is definitely more of a blue collar gritty sort of persona. But who knows, we'll have to see how it comes off in the film to really judge!
Hoping for a Marvel DC crossover movie starring Rocket Raccoon, Squirrel Girl and the Squirrel Green Lantern. Can see a classic love triangle brewing there.
