      Well, maybe for people into hardcore (or fans of early Throwdown)...but as a formation, performance and stage presence I prefer Throwdown during the Venom & Tears album (a completely different band, also taking about band members).

    Straight edge needs to make a comeback. Throwdown weren't giving themselves enough credit I think. They shouldn't have dropped this style. Pretty lame because they sort of just fell off the radar after changing anyway.

    • @MLCrow
      @MLCrow Před 2 lety +1

      I can understand your feelings if you're into former/earlier Throwdown but was Throwdown even known/popular before (when a hardcore, straight edge band)? I've heard of Throwdown for the first time when the album Venom & Tears was released and by that time they sounded like Pantera etc. and with no former members anymore in the band if I'm not wrong, so basically Throwdown (the former band) was a completely different band than the later Throwdown...like two different bands at this point with the same name. I'm from Europe btw.

      @@jayedens8221 Ok, I wasn't familiar with Throwdown as a hxc band. I had some schoolmates (we are talking about the 90's) who were skaters...I remember they used to listen to Strife, Earth Crisis, Snapcase, Madball, Sick Of It All etc. I was never (I'm not) really into hxc bands so sorry if the bands I listed are not even hxc...I'm not an expert ofc...maybe Throwdown didn't exist in the 90's. Whatever.

      Nothing wrong...I know some dudes (mostly ex skaters) that were into straight edge when they were teens...well, some became weed smokers and drinkers. They look back with a smile at their past. I just think they missed a lot of fun back then. Everything can be so cool if you don't exaggerate. I never cared about this straight edge stuff, not for me but I can dig some HC music.

      @@johnnyslokes2712 Sure, I agree. Btw: personally I don't really like this early Throwdown (hardcore, straight edge), I like way more the later one or let's say the formation during the Venom & Tears album (more into groove metal, very Pantera influenced), such great live performances too, I've heard about Throwdown thanks to that album (the 1st song I've heard was Holy Roller), so I started to make some researches about the band. At that point the band had no original/former members anymore, basically it's like two different bands with the same name but honestly I really like just V&T album, not really the other albums of early or later Throwdown.

      @@johnnyslokes2712 If you dig Pantera you will probably like Venom & Tears. If you're into early Throwdown like in this video (or into hardcore way the most) you will probably don't like the later Throwdown...a total different musical direction. Many early hardcore fans of the band hate the later one.
