This series is all about Disney Vacation Club, and what a trip renting DVC points or staying as a DVC member is like.

In this travel day vlog, we cover the airport hotel, flight and Disney Vacation Club check-in. We start out at London Heathrow's Hilton Garden Inn at Terminals 2 & 3. There I give you an overview of what Disney Vacation Club is and how it works. Not only that, I explain ‘home resorts,’ the points system, renting DVC points and more.
On our travel day, we make our way from the hotel over to Terminal 3 via the underground subway. Upon arriving at the Virgin Atlantic/Delta check-in, we proceed to the departures lounge for a spot of pre-flight shopping and a coffee stop.
We flew on an A330 in seats 21A and 21C (premium economy). Once onboard the aircraft, I give you a little Premium Economy seat tour, a look at the menu and welcome drinks, before settling in for a well needed rest.
Upon arriving into Orlando International (MCO), we take the gate-link over to the main terminal building, head down to level 2 and order ourselves an Uber to take us over to Disney's Wilderness Lodge. There we check-in to our Deluxe Studio (with Walk-In Shower) and give you a full room-tour. This includes a look at the queen bed, bathroom, wardrobe, sofa bed and balcony view. After showing you around the room, we head downstairs to the Mercantile shop, before grabbing a light dinner at the Roaring Fork quick-service restaurant.

Gary and I only tend to go transatlantic together every 1/2 years (last year being the exception because of delayed Covid trips). As we went to WDW in October and Disneyland in Feb, he's not ready for WDW again just yet 🙂 But he'll be back!
Adam I always notice the amount of luggage you and other Brits bring to WDW. My daughter and husband and 2 kids just landed in London Saturday and only took 1 carry on and backpack each because (on British Airways) it was going to cost so much to check a regular size bag. (Among other reasons) do you know is this specific to BA or does it cost you extra on Virgin also?
@@cindycoleman82 its very common in the industry to charge for extra luggage now. I know for Virgin you can take two cases included in your ticket (this may be the same for BA). Us Brits don't tend to travel light therefore we seem to splash the cash for taking luggage

@@cindycoleman82If you’re flying economy class, there are usually three tiers to choose from - basic economy, standard economy and enhanced economy (i.e. economy with extra leg room). For international flights, although basic economy only includes hand luggage, standard economy and above include a hold suitcase too. It is usually about £100 extra per person for a return trip. We like to fly with Virgin because standard economy also includes free seat selection, whereas with British Airways you still have to pay to select your seats.
Brits will often travel for 2-3 weeks at a time which is why it is common to take hold luggage as well as hand luggage. It’s also handy for transporting liquids like shampoo!
I'm renting points to stay at The POLY in August, through dvc rental store! Loved the vlog! So much fun :)

Cooper Creek is our home resort and we love it. We were there this past February. Our next trip is Aulani. After that we'll use our points at the Fort Wilderness campgrounds.

One of my favourite things about your videos is how much you clearly enjoy everything about being at Disney, So often you see Disney vloggers who have clearly started to get a bit blasé about their trips, but your excitement and enjoyment is tangible and catching! Wilderness Lodge is one of my favourites. The Magic Cookie Bar they sell in the Roaring Fork is delicious.

Something to consider for future trips is two businesses owned by former cast members: You Fly We Drive which is a car service and Vacation Grocery Delivery which purchases groceries and delivers to your hotel. We used both services last trip and strongly recommend.

I love renting dvc points! My last 2 trips and the one coming up have been on dvc rental points. I love being able to stay at the deluxe resort for a fraction of the price! I have stayed at Boardwalk and next trip I will be staying at Saratoga Springs
