Lauren at Guthrie and Ghani did a trouser fabric video and covered your wash-wool question I believe. Also, you could cut a 4"x4" swatch, serge around it, wash it on cold, and see how it does.

love the gingham for the New Look top! great haul. Don't ask me about wool - I made some lovely Bisque trousers from a wool mix fabric which I must have pre washed because I always pre wash my fabric, but they shrunk horribly after the first wear!!!! I would definitely pre wash and be careful how you wash them!
Thanks Sarah. What a shame about your trousers, so frustrating! I have to say I'm a bit nervous about using the fabric but hopefully that won't put me off using it.

If you have a wool program on your washing machine, wash your wool suiting in the washing machine. I even was my cashemere in the washing machine.
Besides, dry cleaning is super bad for the environment so win win.

When I've worked with wool for work trousers, I've cut a square say 12x12cm and washed it in the machine to see what would happen. It didn't really shrink much, but it did felt a bit, so I decided not to pre-wash it. I don't wash the finished trousers, I just steam them or hang them outside if I think they could use a refresh. I have another pair that I fully lined with silk and I do the same thing, though I could theoretically separate the lining layer and hand wash that if required.

I tend to cut a small swatch and check how it reacts to one of the gentler cycles on my washing machine.

Hope your surprise visit went well at the weekend and you’re settling into your new job. Have you had a visit to Rejects in Kirkcaldy whilst you have been visiting your sister? They have been getting some nice fabrics in recently. I find them a bit pricier but it’s probably because of the online bargains available nowadays. Definitely worth a browse and the restaurant is lovely ! 💞💞

Hi we’ve just had about seven,eight days of HEAT like 30/31C every day. After rain and cold for March April and May. Fed up everyone was. Now 29.6.24 it’s cold and miserable again. Till next time.

You could cut a 10 cm square and test it with different wash and dry cycles.

I’ve found buttons and thread spools buy you at least 45 minutes in a fabric shop when you have toddlers in tow 😂😂

When I have anything with wool content I wash by hand, spin and dry flat if possible.
Ah that's good to know. Do you think a cold wash in the machine would be ok, or too risky?
@@justletmesew I would try a small piece of fabric and see if it comes out the same size before washing the whole piece.

Thank you for sharing all your fabrics and makes! SoCarole recently was given some fabric from that S's Creek and has spoken it on her vlog several times. 😊 And I think if you spell it correctly, it's not a problem. We had quite a discussion about the show, as I've got some licensed fabric from that show but am stalled because it's a crafting cotton. I need me a "David" sweater!!
I've used the bubble double gauze (?! 😆) a few times. I use just the point of the iron to press the seams, and as soon as it goes through the laundry, it won't look any different than the rest of the garment. It does make the best PJs! 🥰 Wonderful videos!
Hi Lynn, thank you for watching. I had no idea there is S.Creek fabric, oh my goodness I need to get some ASAP! I bought my sister a Rose Apothecary hoodie for her birthday and she loves it, it's one of those things that only certain people will understand the reference of the logo.
PJ's is a good idea for the pink fabric, perfect for the summer 🌼
