Love the HAMMOND in your music! Classic rock! by the way, I seem to gravitate to your channel now. Every day, in my office during lunch. I look forward to lunch now! thanks
Thanks for the detail on your clear coat. What version of primer do you use? Do you use the same airbrush for clear as you do for paint? And do you later paint the hidden areas where you have the tape holding the part to paint.
Dave D hi Dave. I do use the same airbrush for everything. I use plastikote primer but am experimenting with a new primer called Stylnylrez by badger. Yes that’s the name. So far so good with the new primer. I recently did a video tutorial on painting that you might like. czcams.com/video/QkAQwy0qeGI/video.html oh and I do paint the tape areas after.
Dave D I’ve tried tons but those two I mentioned are the only two that work for me with the lacquers I use. I have to say I don’t really have a favorite paint. There are so many and they each work best in certain things. For example I love testors metallizers for various metals, the Tamiya family of black paints X-1, XF-1 and X-18 and Tamiya for other colors like red yellow etc. Molotow for chrome, etc. the list goes on.
Hey what glue is that in the black bottle? I’ve been searching for years for glue that holds painted parts together. Testors red and blue tubes don’t want to hold painted parts together very well.
Nice. I see you use Tamiya colors. Do you have that problem with them that if you apply a layer let it dry (I let 'em dry for a day) then apply a second layer, the brush strokes remove a little bit (and sometimes all) of the previous layer? If so how did you deal with it? Some people told me that the Tamiya in pots was made for airbrushes. Is it true?
Hi Angelo, thanks for your videos. Re:The Duplicolor gloss clear coat that you used - is it 1k or 2k? And, is it compatible with tamiya/Mr Color acrylic paints?
Stephen M Cassar my clear is a 1k pre thinned for paint guns. So I thin it a bit more with lacquer thinner to ease it through the airbrush. I have used it over Tamiya and other acrylics. What has worked for me is to have the first 3 or 4 coats be very light. Then go in with a couple of heavier coats. If you go to heavy too soon over an acrylic it will affect the paint. I hope this helps. Thanks for the question!
Apart from the sanding you do at the start do you have to sand before clear coats? And do you use polish or sand after the clear coat. Thanks for the videos they are awesome. I'm just starting out so really appreciate them.
Bevan Wood hello and thanks for the question! I usually sand after primer. Then I only sand between color coats if I run into a problem like debris or unevenness of any kind. Then after the clear coat cures I do wet sand and polish. I use 2500 grit very wet sanding and the Novus 3 step polishing system. Thanks again and good luck! Oh and I sand the primer and color with 600-1000 if I run into a problem.
Bevan Wood thanks very much. Make sure you subscribe as I’m about to launch a “Beginner How-To” series. Since you said you’re just starting out you may want to check that out! Thanks very much for watching!

oldman Crow it’s Testors Model Master and it works great. Nothing holds as well as stripping the paint and plating but this does a pretty good job.
Very interesting & informative series Sir, looking forward to more updates in the future, Merry Christmas and Happy New year, God Bless All
Gary Parker and also to you my friend.
Thanks for that Angelo.....what kind of stubby air brush you using?. Happy building
B.S.G Kustoms! I am using an Iwata HP-CS.
What glue did you use on the engine?
How long do you wait between clear coats?
What airbrush is that....

Qwerts Strewq I haven’t really noticed that issue. I do mostly airbrush or brush very small parts so that may be why I haven’t noticed it.
How do you like it?
B.S.G Kustoms! It’s a fun kit! I can see wanting to build about 5 of them all different ways. I do need to do a rat rod version too.

Are you using a .5 needle to spray your clear. Always fun watching your vids. You do excellent work. Thanks
TheAxelson thanks very much! I do use a .5mm needle.
I see you are glowing parts that are painted don't you clean the paint off the pegs and the services that you glue for better adhesion
