- i also forgot to add that for paju book city, i wouldnt necessarily recommend it if you are on a short trip to korea. personally i dont think its worth it but if you're living here or have a long stay, its a calming day trip!

week in my life ☁️ paju book city, study with me, summer days in seoul, korea vlog
cari,
i was discharged from the hospital about a week ago from a rare, severe case of pneumonia. i’m a healthy, active 18 year old who just got unlucky, i guess! my lungs & oxygen levels are still compromised and vulnerable, so i was instructed not to be in public for the foreseeable future. i used to love doing school work and reading at local cafes - the atmosphere kept me alive & appreciative for the simplicity of humanity. i can’t do that anymore, and it’s been very hard.
living vicariously through you and your channel, every cafe, every bus ride, every walk, every museum - it has been a breath of fresh air to me.
thank you for taking us with you through your life! keep creating & keep exploring xx - abby.
Hopefully you're well on the way to recovery!
Paju looks so charming. I love the overgrown flora taking over the streets with the backdrop of the modern/quirky architecture - debauched gentry vibes! Nature, sitting under a tree can be the best remedy for a sad soul - be kind to yourself and take care Cari x
it definitely felt lost in time!
greatful that you're transparent about your experience. when the thin line between your life and vlogging gets overlapped, i hope you get much time to relax when you need it! thank you for another lovely vlog :)
thank you :'''')
I find healing from the loneliness and frustration felt in dreary city life through your videos.
Calm music and blue images always put me in a good mood.
thank you :')
As a neuroscientist, I was so thrilled to see your neurobio class! And your drawing of a neuron! 🥳💜 Made me smile!
Thanks for the great content and for adding so much joy to people’s lives 🩵
Hehe thank you!!!
It's courageous of you for being open and honest with your audience, also appreciated. Do what's best for you and your fans will happily support you. BTW, always look forward and love your videos. :)
Thank you always 💘
Yay! The part of the weekend when I can forget my troubles and travel around the world! 🙂Have a good 4th of July, Cari!
same to you!!
You hit the nail on the head there Pendragon
Seeing so much green in this vlog made my heart happy 💚
I've seen a lot of content creators talk about how negative comments can get to them. Ignore the rude comments. I like watching your videos. Just keep doing what you're doing.
🤍🤍🤍
I hope you continue to post on both channels often. You posts on this channel really bring me such a peaceful feeling and they really calm my anxiety
💘🙏
omg I already commented but I just wanted to say that it's so easy to feel pressured to be okay or feel a certain way but when life throws you curve balls and you start to feel anything other than happy or excited to explore and go out and live life; it makes you start to feel weird. I love the honesty and your ability to stay true to yourself, and take time when you need it! I've stopped myself from doing things sometimes just because it didn't feel right and it's worse when you try to force it anyways. Life is wild sometimes but what a rollercoaster it is to look back on it and see the times when you tried to ignore your own self care. I'm glad you took some time for yourself without forcing more content or vlog things. We're all people just living at the end of the day! I think the humanity and experiences life offers us is part of what makes watching vlogs so fun anyway, I watch because it's like exploring life in a different setting! (And life's not always one color or feeling). I appreciate the realness more than the extra content
Thank you so much and yes its wild how some days just leaving the house seems like such an uphill battle and somedays staying inside will drive me insane 😂 im glad we’re all collectively getting better at being kind to our bodies and brains 🤍
Cari, you'll never know how much your work, vlogs, editing, sharing are appreciated by all of us. The first thing I do every Sunday is to check CZcams and see if you posted a new vlog. If you need to slow down with posting is totally understandable - we'll be always here! 😍🌼🌺
Thank you 🥹
adore all of your content so much, whatever it might be. i appreciate your openness and honesty and transparency about being human and being openly human on the internet -- a scary feat. the negative voices always seem to outweigh the positive ones, no matter what we do. i hope that the positive ones continue to show you what a beautiful light in this world that you are. i saw another comment mention that your videos are like a warm hug and i wholeheartedly agree. so, thank you for being you, and i hope you can take the space to care for yourself every day.
🥹🥹🥹 thank you
this is my favorite vlog in 2024 yet. Hard to be topped when all my favorite things to calm, soothe and inspire me are in one video. Thank you always Cari!
Thank you so much 🥹
paju looks so lovely! thank you for sharing your day there with us🫶🏾🌻
Thanks for coming along 🥲🌟
I just love the architecture in Paju. Wish I could live there for a couple months
Sending you good energy too ⚡️
Your videos are so refreshing and calming to me. I love them so much! Thank you for making them and keeping me company in my day!
Thanks so much for watching 🥹

It’s actually such good timing to see this because I’m doing a lot of traveling right now and I had a few days where I just burned out and was filled with stress and anxiety. For me, I needed to hit the brakes and stay “home” for a bit to re-center myself. Seeing that you were experiencing similar emotions and really not feeling like yourself, even though in a different context, is comforting in that I feel less alone in my struggles. So thank you as always for sharing
Ugh those recharge days are SO important 🥲
This may sound a bit peculiar but your vlogs heal my inner child in such a lovely way. I always wanted to travel and see these places but my circumstances never allowed me to so I live vicariously through you until I can take a trip and see these beautiful places with my own eyes! Thank you, Cari, your videos never disappoint! 💖💖💖
🥹🙏🥹🙏
Wow that escape to the lake with the blanket looked so perfect! What a great lounging day. I love doing that especially with such a peaceful view! Seems like it was pretty quiet too
Right?! It was the perfect afternoon 🥹
Caught this so early! I just finished watching your last week's video :) Love your content
thank you so much!!
Omg I've never been so early! Can't wait to watch this for breakfast later, heading to bed first😌🫡
sweet dreams :')
@@caricakes thank you so much🥺
What a beautiful place (Paju) you went to , I loved the coffeeshop in the library guesthouse a lot , so esthetic and everything looks so clean too. I always admire your enthousiasme and courage to go to new places on your own also getting out the house at moments you feel up to ✊🏻 Your videos are my early morning treats and always looking forward to them , thanks for all,the efforts you put in your videos and for sharing 🍀🙏🏻💐
I definitely need to go back to the library guesthouse!!
I made it early! You are literally a warm hug on the internet Cari.
Thank you for sharing your softness with us.
💖
thank you so much :')💖
My most favorite vlog about Korea! Thank you so much for your wonderful work.
Thank you!!
Hi Cari! I hope you are feeling great! I usually don't comment on videos but today I wanted to because I want to thank you for all the effort that you put in every single video you make. They are a beautiful reminder to romatinze life, to get out more and enjoy a cup a coffee or tea, a good book and just the wonderful surroundings. So thank you! I send you tons of love! 💖
Thank YOU so much 🥹
I always finish your vlogs feeling so grateful for your content! I really hope that you can find meaning and fulfillment on your amazing job, because I believe you impact positively so many people. Thank you as always Cari ❤
Hi Cari! I love your vlogs and all the music, too! And you are so pretty in this video, as always! Wherever I have a homesick
I come to your channel and relax, then feel much better! Thank you! My family lives in Bundang now; Paju is very close to it.🤗
Thank you for sharing your days!
Oh i love the bundang area!! And thank you 🤍
Your vlogs make it look like your days are full and long but in a very good way!!❤
I feel like my days are short and time goes by so so fast and even tho I try...I find it difficult to relax and just go for a walk or read and enjoy the moment.
But I'm motivated by your content so I hope I can manage my time better.
I like your energy so much honestly! You make my day cause I like traveling and books of course! Don’t let bad comments take you down, there are always people like that in the world! Be yourself and most of all be kind to yourself. Love your t-shirt! Sending a lot of good vibes to you from Greece 🌼
thank you so much! hope to visit one day :')
What kind of person could leave a negative comment on these vlogs. Your vlogs are a work of art the shots, music and aesthetics are wonderful. Your vlogs make me feel at peace reminds me what a beautiful place the world is ❤
thank you! it wasnt necessarily negative comments but more like unsolicited advise/opinions/etc in a time when i really just needed to exist in my own head without others giving their two cents haha feeling much better now!
Yay! New upload right on time for my bedtime routine, so excited for this
hahah have a good night~
@@caricakes It was so relaxing and comforting, I really do hope that you feel better about posting videos and that you figure out how to have a healthy relationship with vlogging again. That being said it's 1am here so I'll go now ahaha
당신이 사물을 화면에 담아내는 감각이 뛰어 납니다. 예술 사진을 찍어도 좋을 정도로 사진 실력이 훌륭합니다.
You have an excellent sense of capturing things on screen. Your photography skills are so great that you could take artistic photos.
Thank you so much! 감사합니다 ☺️
Paju is my sign to go to my local library and take out a book. Now that my exam season is done, I want to get back into reading again 📚❤️
Yessss!!!
your videos of countryside always bring me a peace and stability, in particular rainy sunday morning. : D
Anything green always brings me peace 😌
Oh my heart a LIBRARY STAY??! Wish I had known about this city the last time I went to South Korea. I’ll have to add it to my list for next time. Going to Jeju next month and hoping to get to that sheep cafe you showed in a video way back 🥹 🐑
Omgggg i need to get back to jeju asap 🥲 tell the sheep i miss them!!
I would love to visit the last cafe, just like u lying on the ground, drinking coffee with the view and breeze, it felt so peaceful 😊
It was perfection 🥲
Cari, what is the name of the artist and/or gallery you stopped in before going home (at 11:50)? His art was stunning. I would love to visit and see more. Anyone have more information on this? Thank you.
Its called Sketchbook Plus! I forgot to add it to the description box 🥲

Your videos are beautiful and comforting Cari 🦋 I appreciate your honesty about everything 💌
Just wanted to say that I really love your videos, from both channels. Your personality and vibe are very relaxing, and I feel like I get to live vicariously a bit through your trips to different cafes and places
Paju is so lovely place for book lovers! I am so glad that you visited there😊 congrats on 400k🎉❤
I love watching your videos in the mornings when I don't have anything to rush for, the calm vibes are great for my still drowsy brain! In regard to the mood things, if you ever feel the need to disable comments, not respond, not post etc, that's completely fine!! Your mental health is the most important when it comes to this channel; moodiness is part of life but don't let your job harm you ❤ feel free to ignore my comment if it's unhelpful or worse!
I had been to Paju once back in winter 2019 and it was already a ghost town back then 😂. I know there were ppl doing their own things in the building but felt like I was the only living thing there. Still love the atmosphere of the city and the building are so interesting. Just walked around the town and had my ME time was pretty satisfied.
Have a good day!
Its definitely perfect for introverts hahahha
I just made a 37 min. travel vlog, and I just want to say, I have the deepest respect for your ability to output such long, well edited vlogs every single week, for so long. Your consistency is something to be envious of, for real. Thumbs up for that. I imagine it must be easier to be consistent when you actually have an audience wanting to watch your vlogs, unlike me, but still. I wish I had the same discipline, but I just suck at being consistent, and I get so discouraged when my videos only get like 100-500 views on average... 😪
I found calm and solitude in your vid. I’m not living alone but I can imagine that life watching you vid 😊 sending love from thailand
love back to youuu!
평온함과 무언가 사무치게 그리워 지기도하고 넉넉함도 느낍니다 좋은영상 감사드립니다 .행복하세요^^
I really love your videos (just had to comment once in a while as I am normally a quiet viewer ^-^) They are so calm and inspiring. Thank you! 🥰 Lovely greetings from Austria.
I discovered Paju through Moya's vlog it was such a beautiful city when u announced in your previous vlog that u'll be visiting Paju I was so damn excited u truly make my Sundays better it's been raining here and I'm starting my morning with watching u discover Paju its the best feeling ever!!..💖💖🫶
Omg yes her and jack made me want to finally get over there!!
also congrats on 400k !!! 🎉
always love your videos Cari, take care of yourself x
So much fun watching this!!❤❤❤
Your videos and vlogs always make my days brighter. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us. Take care of yourself 🧡
13:41 got me in the feels! I love a nostalgic weather memory...thanks for sharing these genuine moments with us, Cari. 💜 Can't wait till y'all are in Seattle!
oh my, Paju is lovely 🥹 my bookish soul would maybe skip seoul and head to paju when I come and visit sk. thank you for the wonderful vlog, Cari 🧡
You look so adorable with the high ponytail!!
Hey Cari! This is my first time commenting even though I've been watching your videos for over a year now. I'm living in the States, and whever I feel homesick for Korea (which happens ofter becuase I'm so Korean-Korean living in the US, haha), I head over to your channel. It's kind of funny, but seeing you in Korea always brings me comfort and makes me feel better. Thank you! :) Even though we've never met, I feel like I've known you for so long. I hope you're managing the hot and humid weather in Korea. Stay cool and take care! :)
So glad I'm not the only one getting the occasional Coursera urge 😅 I always feel that I should know so much more and then I add a thousand courses to my list which sound interesting, I start them and then I forget about them for a couple of months...
But it's great that there are opportunities like these out there!! Good luck with your endeavours!
Paju, book city sounds like the perfect place for me. People say touch grass for a reason. lovely video.
Your videos always provide me with so much comfort, I can’t even properly put it into words. Another great vlog and it couldn’t have come at a better time; I’ve got some pretty big Masters exams coming up this week and have been stressing so much but this vlog has given me the boost I need. Thank you, Cari ❤❤❤❤
Good luck with everything 🍀🤍
13:03 It is confirmed... Kurt is a cat 😹
Awesome vlog Cari... Thank you for letting my mind still and enjoy great music, great scenery, and your lovely presence. Such a lovely person who even when you (justifiably) complain you're super sweet
😂😂😂 he really is! and thank you!!
my list of places to visit once I‘m in Korea is getting longer and longer thanks to you :,D
A blessing and a curse hahah
i'm having a shit time full of anxiety at the moment but your videos always cheer me up a little. thank you!
Send so much love 💘
Happy to be here early. Love your videos btw😊❤
thank you!!!
congratulations on 400K subscribers!!!!!!!❤💘
Thank you 🥹
Watching this after waking up from an unusually long nap:) I'd love to visit Paju City just for that cafe.
This vlog was everything my day needed. Thank you, cari

Omg thank YOU 🥲🥲🥲
I’m sending you love❤❤❤
love love love
I'm so sorry Cari!
I love your vlogs, I look forward to it so much! I wish you could post daily (not realistic I know) I love them that much. Sometimes I hold back from watching your new videos so I can watch them back to back, I find myself rewatching a few in blocks because I miss the vlogs/the energy/the vibes you put out. (the music, b shots, transitions, it all screams 'your style', and I just gel with it so much!)
It's so shit that it's always those negative comments that stick the most, so here's a mad positive one!
Come to Australia! We have a book trail in the Blue Mountains, and a great vibe in Sydney for cafes, museums, art galleries, and big book stores!
Much love from down under,
16:58 I feel like podcasts have definitely filled this desire in many people, there are so many niche topics explored in long form that are easy to digest and listen to on your commute. But of course these are not vetted/fact checked in the way your courses are.
New vlog lets goo ❤❤❤
I really need that library stay! So peaceful there
Same!!
I thought of the dance moms viral audio about the "agitating, grating voice" when you described the mean lady at the gallery
9:56 I felt the same energy last time I went down to Balboa Park.. I was just looking for a nice shady spot to read my book and I was surrounded by people taking photos of eachother, kinda soured my experience honestly, next time I’ll just find a quiet park.
i gasped at the guesthouse 🤯
Yes you are true cari! Churches are a beautiful quiet places to meditate on the word of God ❤️
Ah but i am not religious haha i just meant meditation as in being calm for me
@@caricakes yeah but church has nothing to do with being 'religious' but I appreciate you agreed that church is a place for meditation and it calms you ❤️
It is…something, that so many people take up space when it comes to taking photos for social media.
When I was in Amsterdam last year, I felt so self conscious of taking photos of art in the museums; meanwhile, people were having full blown photo shoots in front of art pieces with all the confidence and lack of special awareness in the world. 😅
In korea we’ve had a few cases in recent years of people destroying art because they were focused on getting a picture and its so sad 😂🥲
i was literally about to start typing you should take neurobio! its such an interesting class and i hope you enjoy it and then your course popped up haha! really do love your videos every part of them!
Yes! I love the prof!!!
How cool - I'm headed to Seattle later this week! Maybe you're already there. Incredibly long shot, but if you happen to be doing the Space Needle on July 6th, I might work up the courage to say hi. 😅 Enjoy your trip!!
I hope you're feeling better. ❤ I know how it feels to not be in a good headspace, and I hope things have improved. It's impossible to be sunshine-y all the time. ❤
Thank you 🤍🤍🤍
I feel you about this internet stuff, like I'm trying to get out of it and doing more things but it's really occupying my life. Hopefully I'll be able to be able to being less on the internet.
that is WILD i was literally JUST thinking this afternoon if u had a vlog in paju wow ncbdjcbd insane
🧠 👀
❤❤❤
Hi, Cari! Have you watched the kdrama called One Day Off? I really enjoyed it and how it represents the beauty (and sometimes slight difficulties) of solo traveling, as well as how so much can happen in just one day of travel. I recently moved to Japan for work and try to do one day trips on the weekend as much as I can - your vlogs inspire me to notice and enjoy the small details around me when traveling, so thank you for doing what you do!💛
I also finished high school without any scientific subject. No biology, no chemistry and only 2 hours of basic math (which i still managed to fail). Instead I had 5 different languages, lots of history, geography, art&architecture and even vinology. But when I was 30 I decided to change my career from airline staff to nurse! I took my classes in selfstudy since i was still working full time. I only had to be in school for my practical courses or if i had any questions. Well...there was biochemistry and i didnt understand a word of that course. So I went to school to ask for help. My professor was like 'the things you don't understand is basic knowledge! You learned this in high school' and than I had to explain I actually didn't 😂😂
Right?! Kurt asks me things sometimes and he is amazed at what i dont know 😮💨😮💨😮💨
Beautiful video!💚 Do you think you’ll be doing a meet up in Seattle when you come? :)
Thank you so much.
Many thoughts to you. Sometimes the paths of life are a little bumpy as you say and sometimes they are gorgeous. I wish you the best.
Was Paju where Jack Edwards had a residency? I can relate to your feelings of ennui, if that's what it was, and hope you have emerged from it. You need to do what you need to do with regard to videos. Yours are always so lovely and gentle and well filmed, no gimmicks, no click bait, it's a lot I'm sure. Take care of yourself.
How do you find these wonderful songs? As usual I super love the vibes of your vlog. More power! ❤
Morning Cari..❤❤
I love that you are using Coursera to update your knowledge base. I have used it for various things as well. The choice of courses that you picked is excellent…neurobiology! I’m a neurologist so anything neuroscience based is fun to me. I have taken courses through there for work but also like to try to choose subjects opposite to my day job. I hope you enjoy it. Send your neuro questions my way! 😊
its amazing how many things you can apply neurobio to! im having a lot of fun sloooowly going through the class :)
