  • UNBOXING Costco SUNFORCE Triple Head Solar Motion Activated Light... Its has clean LED light and runs on 3 AA NiMh batteries and solar.
I just got the SUNFORCE Triple Head Solar Motion Activated Light at Costco. They have different versions on Amazon: amzn.to/2EMFY8N The Solar panel generates about 6.3+ volts to 7.5 volts to charge the 3 AA Nimh in the case. I charged the 3 AA batteries with solar (left it in the sun for 3 days and with a smart AA battery charger. The light battery life lasts for about 32 minutes before it goes dim. So if you plan to leave it on for a longer time than 30 minutes you should consider something else.

The mounting bracket, enables you to "angle" it down............. sensor can be angled/rotated......
They work very well, with adjustable side lights, motion sensitivity, photo cell (night only) full on, (24hr motion activation), off (never comes on which I use during hunting season so don't spook game walking out of the cabin), as well as duration timer to set how long lights stay on for. Basically, same function as any other motion capable security light, but solar powered and very durable.

I believe where there are any air-gaps in the solar panel, such as where the wire exits, one can apply a bit of clear (white/black) silicone, to help seal off the unit.

If you plan to install it somewhere will be exposed to incremental weather, maybe not a bad idea to caulk around all the joints with silicone to weatherproof it. Even though the box said it’s weather resistant.

Just to be clear, "sunlight" on the packaging is referring to the color temperature, not the lumens. It's showing the part of the spectrum from yellow to white to blue light.

Would you happen to have explored powering this from the mains? What amperage rating would I need to plug this in to? e.g. 7 Volts 2 Amps?
    Thanks!

if this is sent to the on position rather than motion sensor will it be on only at night and off in the day? I am looking for a light that just stays on all night but shuts off in the day

If you set it to on position it will stay on all day and night till batterys die, this is not the light for you if you want it to stay on all night and off at day, i have two outside in the weather going 2 years now and they work great so far

Sure, if you want to sit there and wave your hand at it all day. Get some shop lights and a timer.

not weather proof ? Solar Power Recharge ? them two things sound like oximoron. Hard to keep it charged protected by an awning. Humid days are going to be the downfall, rapid temps where it goes from cool to warm - con DEN SA tion.

dont remember its been like 1 or 2 years with the sanyo / panasonic nimhs... i did another video where i left it on for about 40 minutes or so... but it still works very well on my roof at night. I have not swaped the batteries yet.

Sterling W: I bought four, 60 led lights and ran them continuously at night like regular light bulbs because I live in an apt... I only needed about 6 hours of light at night... So two, 60 led lamps worked for me... I started using 2400mah batteries and lasted even longer... Now I am going to buy four 180 led lights and replace the batteries with 3000mah batteries for longer efficiency... Just saying... I am still working on my solar panel set up, but I have to find a good spot for sunlight...
