This just makes me weep. The tune is so beautiful and was in honour of the fallen Scots being defeated at flodden on this day 9th September 1513. Being Scottish myself I can feel a massive sense of pride and emotions when I hear this. This piper is faultless. To be in St Paul's listening to this must have been incredible. Rest in peace your Majesty.

Scotland gained most honour in this sad pass away of HM. To die at Balmoral, lie at Holyrood and then St Giles is the best trbute honour to the Scots. This were the union came from, unionist Stuarts at least. The coronation on the Scone would be the pinnacle I reckon.

This was randomly played at Remembrance Sunday last year and my dad couldn’t believe it was Woody doing it. That was the first time Woody made me cry like that. I bet the bagpipes were incredibly heavy but Woody carried it like nothing. Same thing happened at my grandmother’s house as Woody.EXE went downstairs and I didn’t expect him to play the pipes either, it was very haunting when the pipes faded to the outside. We all walked with him as it happened

And this is where our gracious Queen finally meets Prince Phillip again, as this was played at the end of His funeral as well, as if to say “I go ahead, I’ll be waiting for you on the other side”. This is not only a sign of love for Scotland, but also a sign of Love for each other, as even though they didn’t have the same kind of funeral, this song of love joins them in eternity. Incredibly poignant, beautiful and raw moment, these two amazing souls invisibly holding hands in this beautiful song they clearly both loved. Brought floods of tears to my eyes, truly intense feelings tied into this moment, truly as unique as they both were. ❤️ God rest them both in peace! 🙏😔❤️❤️❤️

Wow. I was there at the service in St Paul's. As we stood in line to enter the church, it was absolutely pouring with rain. The majority of us were coincidentally in suits/business wear, as mostly bankers/lawyers already present in the City were lucky enough to get hold of a ticket within the short timespan it was announced that the public could attend the same day. It was so incredibly well organised and the memorial service left a deep impression, especially the bagpiper. You could feel the heaviness. I just had to look up this video after I finished The Crown on Netflix. I sobbed when I heard this song again, as I was flooded with memories. It truly was the end of the monarchy as we knew it.

My grandfather (Pipe Major, Black Watch) said It's now played at funerals, as he put it 'to help the spirit to follow the sound of the piper into the light'. I like to think that's true - it's a nice thought. Originally in honour of the flowers of Scotland (fallen Scots). It has become somewhat of a standard practice in the British, Anzac and Canadian military to use this tune to mark the death of a soldier. Police forces in Canada, USA, Australia, UK and New Zealand predominantly chose this tune.

A page is turned yet again. The Queen leaves to join her forebearers and friends and loved ones long since passed. To rejoin her husband at last.
Geez... I had more I wanted to write, but dang man... She was a bit of light in this world right now. A constant, that even as an American, I admire her greatly. She is a person who has witness more in her lifetime and even been a direct or indirect participate than most people could ever hope to know or see.
All I can think about, is how this world is changing. We are losing great people, good people, like Her Majesty in far too many numbers. While I have little doubt that King Charles III will step up to the plate and slam a couple of good homeruns, he's got a lot on his plate. The world is a bit on the edge and getting closer to the ledge. That means, we'll all need to step up too.
For all that could be said, she at least tried to leave a positive imprint on the world. Let's all to do our own utmost to do the same. Because these people who have held us back from the brink, they're so few and getting fewer. We'll need to rely on ourselves now.
God Bless and Support the new King Charles III.
The rest of us, straighten out, roll up the sleeves, and start looking to do something positive for a change.
