Not being able to find this tune consistently through the years has been disappointing. There must be some artistical issue depriving lovers of this tune. When musicians and vocal artists can agree that together they shine brightly together, everyone benefits!
The originator of this song was Canadian songwriter Ian Thomas. It was a powerful soulful piece which must have spoken loudly to Santana as they did a very admirable job of covering it.
Lead guitar player is killing it in this tune, and AL sounds great as well. But the bass player is outstanding--very tasty stuff. Great version of this classic tune. I will say I would have liked to have heard one last reprise of the chorus at the very end, just to sort of wrap things up a bit. The ending here sort of left me hanging a little bit, after the big build up.
These guys did a great version of this song, as did Santana, but I`ll always prefer the original version by The Ian Thomas Band from Canada. The song was written by Ian Thomas.
