    I use this jacket all year in the UK with a Zepher jacket in the spring and call and if colder a down jacket. It's very comfortable and using a layering approach you can ride in any condition

    Thank you, for the down to the Earth Review of this jacket. Monday, I’m leaving from Southern California and riding into, and through Arizona, and due to your review of this jacket I’m off to the store to buy one.. thank you again for your video content. Ride safe out there, and enjoy life to the fullest.

      I really like mine!
      It breaths incredible well. Just did a trip down the PCH and temps reached +38 celcius (100 fahrenheit) and I was not hot while riding.

    I picked up the previous gen to what you have from a discount online store, and I fell in love. Dork in the Road recommended it and I'm a similar build and man was he right. It's soooo comfy! The D3O armor flexes and moves so nicely that I forget that it's there. It also doesn't print nearly so bad, so it only looks like an armored jacket if you know what to look for. The airflow is amazing as well, and for the amount of armor at the price, I cannot complain. Kinda wish I had bought two because I like it so much and it's not available anymore.
    Definitely keep us posted on how this 2nd gen treats you, though, by the time I'm ready for a new jacket we might be into the 3rd or 4th gen.

      I have 500km on it before the snow fell. Now I have to wait till spring.
      Love it so far!
      Will definately do a long term review once I use it for a few months.

    Nice review. I bought a Baja S4 set, but even that seemed heavy ish for my So Cal summer riding. Fortunately had to drive to LAX and there is a Revzilla nearby so was able to try the Marrakesh and I really liked it so the S4 got returned and I am just trying to figure out what color to get. Black and the very light grey are out so will probably be getting the brown or green jacket and charcoal pants.
    My initial fear was that the Marrakesh would feel “too” light, like there was no there, there (track suit) and that wasn’t the case. I also purchased an Ai-1 airbag vest and think this will be just right and very comfortable in the summer months. Am also going to get a wind shirt in case I hit cooler temps along the coast or in the mountains.
    I bought a Latitude set when I got my Tiger (after trying the way too heavy for me Badlands and Carlsbad), and that has kept me comfortable down to 40 degrees f or so, with nothing more than a sweatshirt under the jacket and under armor 3.0 base layer under the pants (and that more just to reduce possible chafing).

      When it's cooler I wear my heated jacket underneath. So far I'm loving the Marrakesh jacket

      Is your setup still working? I too wear the Ai-1 rally airbag vest because it has L2 back armor and it has more breathing room than the standard vest. I took out the chest pads because I no longer ride off road. It feels pretty good under my Marrakesh.

    • @Rob801
      @Rob801 Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@4940markhutchins If that was to me, I've only had my Ai-1 a few weeks. So far so good but have only been out a couple times. I don't wear chest protection for the riding I'm doing, and have taken the back armor out of my jackets when wearing the A1-1. I find it to be very comfortable for what it is. Will see how I do in 100+ degree heat (it is what it is... can never be truly comfortable at those temps imo).
      I ended up reordering the Baja S4, since I read many comments saying it actually flows more air than the Marakesh... though I'm finding I have a weak spot for the Klim gear, so will probably end up with a Marrakesh set as well before long anyway.

    Definitely not cheap but every video I have seen about this jacket were very positive so I might just pull the trigger. I now have the Pando Moto shell uh 03 underlayer but I'm not really a fan of something tight on my body on a warm day. A breathable jacket would be a better option I think.

    I too upgraded the armor to SAS TEK level 2, same flexibility as the D30 Ghost armor, and an Alpinestars level 2 back protector (it’s full length so I took some sisters to it to make the pocket bigger). I added a Klim Zephyr wind shirt and Forecast rain outer jacket. These block the wind and rain, then I wear a heated liner and/ot down puffy to try to make it 4-season. Not sure yet that will work.

    I have the Cool Grey jacket. Great for when its above 30 deg Celsius here in Australia. The lighter cooler helps to keep cooler. It is AA rated for abrasion resistance. I changed out the Level 1 Ghost Armour for Level 2 ghost for a bit more protection. I can't really feel any difference wearing it. Just waiting for the pants in Asphalt colour. Hopefully the darker colour doesn't show the dirt like the Cool Grey jacket :).

    The D30 Ghost armor that comes in Marrakesh is Level 1. You can buy Level 2 armor that is a bit more protective and you really cannot tell much difference when wearing the jacket. I updated by Marrakesh jacket and pants to Level 2.

    Great product. Reviews are positive. The color is a huge departure from your last hi-viz safety yellow. In the absence of hi-viz the color are you implementing the use of a Brake Free helmet light?

    Ive never heard of Double A armor. Its usually CE Level 1 or 2. Anyway, Im searching for the most ventilated pants that I can find for dual sporting. Klim claims that their Mojave line is the most ventilated, but several people say that they like the Marrakech.

    • @axelfiraxa
      @axelfiraxa Před měsícem

      The Marrakesh wont fit over enduro boots and even Adventure boots with shin protectors seem too large for the Marrakesh 2. PAY ATTENTION the initial marrakesh was wide enough to fit enduro boots but the most recent version is too tight and needs to go in the boot which may be uncomfortable!

    I've seen a few reviews of this jacket all saying comfortable and lite...but no one mentionning if the ghost pads staying where you need the protection...no one mentionning if the sizing is true. I have 2 pairs of klim jeans one with regular d3o and one with ghost d3o and i get the feeling that the ghost d3o if i went down would not protect me much....feels like a gimmick....and do have a Klim Latitude jacket & pants with regular level 2 armor that i feel that protects me a lot more but are a lot heavier than level 1.

      I met a guy at the motorcycle shop last week who was wearing the KLIM Marrakech jacket with scuffs on the shoulder. He said he went down at 70KPH and slid. He said he had no damage to his upper body. I guess it works?
