I drive a 2012 F-250 XL 4WD extended cab SB with a 6.7. That "chattering" on snowy or muddy trails is an issue if the truck isn't weighted down. I add about 400-600 lbs. of bagged sand loaded at the very back of the cargo bed if I'm going through snow--that helps both traction and stops a lot of the "chattering". I run Cooper ST Maxx 285 75R 17 tires on stock wheels (roughly 34" diameter). I prefer narrower tires in snow and mud. My truck has a 2" leveling kit, needed mostly to counter the extra weight of a Ranch Hand brush guard bumper and a winch on the front. I've had no problems with the truck so far--the 6.7 is stock and not "deleted." I do have the Ford Operator Commanded Regen option on the truck, which I have had to use a couple of times. Like all of the 2010+ diesels, any lengthy idling can fill the DPF pretty fast. I try to avoid extended idling whenever possible, but the way that I use the truck occasionally requires it.
Take off that air dam and it'll make it a little easier. It can come off and go back on pretty easy (mine did anyways, but for the .0001mpg boost, I left it off).
You were in a rough situation snow up to the grill lucky it wasn’t solid ice. Hopefully you had your front hubs locked. Snow that deep you were lucky once it bottoms out it’s all done. Keep up the cool videos. Thanks
If you’re wanting to dampen your “off road excursions” I would look at the eibach pro truck shocks, they have a million mile warranty and they are about the same price as bilstein 5100s I have them on my F150 and they are “just enough” for low speed off road driving
What gear ratio do you have? I have a 2017 powerstroke with 18 inch rims. At 80 mph I’m running close to 2,000 RPM. I’m considering upgrading to platinum or lariat rims- 1- for looks & 2- for lower rpm at highway speed. When you upgraded your tire size did it drop your RPM a lot at highway speeds? Thanks
The Squad I have 3.55. 80mph would be like 130kph I would be at 2000 well. It does drop your RPM for sure but 35s are only like an inch higher than stock.
Nice!! I have the opposite of your work truck. It's a 2019 F-150 regular cab short box XLT 4x2 in Magnetic with the 2.7 Ecoboost, 10 speed transmission and 3.73 rear end. I like to think of it as a sport truck... :-)
Hey man...great vid...love watching the real world testing... quick question...what brand seat cover do you have and where did you get it ? I think they would look good in my truck...thanks

Tony G no not really especially if you are coasting and have your foot off the throttle. Technically you can engage if while your driving I just like to be safe
Why level if you tow? Leveled trucks are for those guys that use their trucks for aesthetics. Guys that level them and tow just blind everyone, even with bags.
Will do! Do you think you could make a video on how you started out running a business? Also some strategies you used and things you may do different if you were to start over just curious!Would love too hear it!

Driving in the snow on the old logging roads was one of my favorite things to do. It's kinda like an adventure but relaxing at the same time.

Kane Yeah for sure
Replace the air dam with a 2wd air dam. It's much shorter and improves the look of the truck in my opinion.
Airing down the tires would help tremendously in that stuff you were hoping in. I know it’s more work but the difference is often significant.
