A good thermal label printer is essential to anyone who ships more than a few packages a week. For professional amazon, ebay, etsy or other eCommerce sellers, thermal label printers are vital to daily operation.

Thanks very much for the video and my printer is working perfectly now. I have a GX430t and have had a miserable time losing my wireless connection now and then over a period of at least 3 years. When I first got my printer, I had to call Zebra tech support multiple times to get it going, but each time it was setup with DCHP. The warranty is up on the printer now and I can't call Zebra for help unless a pay a hefty fee for their service. Now I'm hoping I'll have no more problems with losing the WiFi connection now that I've set it up with a static IP address.
Yeah. They loose their settings sometimes for no apparent reason. Just bookmark the video and watch it again when it happens next time.

Thank you so much for these explanation. everything worked up until I needed to add the port. After I enter the IP address and leave port number 9100 and click ok I have an error message saying I No connexion was established because the target computer refused.
How do I fix this? please help
When I print an ebay shipping label (4x6) it comes out in 2 pages. I shrank it but now its waaay to small. Can you do a video showing how to setup the zebra to make ebay labels? Thank you.
after the initailization i dont think it worked. the ip adress doesnt show up on the printer screen. where did i go wrong?

Does this printer have Bluetooth option that can be connected to a Phone?
This might be a totally dumb question then....when I plug the Ethernet cord from the Zebra printer to the actual modem and do all the work that you show in your video on my computer, I can then turn off the computer and the iPad will print to the printer? We have no server in the office, no network except for the wifi through our Internet provider, and we are getting rid of the computer. My goal is to print from the iPad through the MobiPrint app as I have PDF documents that are coming off of a web application. Do you think I should instead look for a Bluetooth printer? I just want one that allows as much paper in the roll as we will more than likely do a lot of volume and I don't want to have to change a small roll of paper all the time.

Could you help me with the second part I am getting a message "a connection failed becuase the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond"

I agree. You would think a huge company like Zebra could easily do this. I called their support multiple times when I first got the printer and was on the phone for over an hour. Once I got it connected and working, all could be fine for several months or a year, but then I would lose the connecting and have a heck of time reconnecting it. I think this setup will be the cure for that problem.

how do you get the PSK name
Not getting the wireless address to show up on the printer for some reason. The printer has the Bluetooth logo still in the top left corner.
Hi, can this printer work wirelessly with an IMAC set up as I note researching this printer, it only refers to Windows?
Yes. But you may need to configure the wifi on the printer with a PC.

I've never setup one of those, but the utilities and method should be similar.

I've gone through this video three times... and after I do the first part of the wifi setup it never resets the ip address on the machine. So im never able to finish the second part..
Which part? When you send the settings?
After several attempts, the IP address on the printer screen is still showing 0.0.0.0 ?
What IP address did you specify during setup? Did the printer restart? What security type did you specify for the wifi?

I'm trying to print a label from ebay but I don't know how to set the size of the label
When you go to generate the label there will be a printer setup option. Select the Zebra 2488 option, or your model if it's in the list.
My printer says error when restarting. It does not seem to pickup the IP address like yours does in the video. Any idea what I can be doing wrong?

@@AnDrew-he9vk Your router might not be setup to give out IP addresses via DHCP.
Does this work with wired internet connection as well? Thanks!
A wired connection will get all of it's details automatically via DHCP so configuring the network will not be necessary, unless someone hardcoded a config before you.

My printer won't accept my network settings, when I sent the changes it blinks and updates but IP is still set to 0.0.0.0. I've triple checked all my network credentials, any ideas?

Guy can you show me how to configure out a printer that was connected to a different router, switch internet provider 😁 and now I can’t use it with the new internet service

My signal strength isn't at 100%. It's only saying "not associated"
You got a setting wrong. Set it up again and verify your SSID, IP address, Key and network security type (AES or TKIP) are all accurate.

re-lable this to a setup video. this is not a printer review.
If you are going to show people how to Install a Zebra Printer, maybe you shouldn't start in the middle of the install at the Configuration Screen where you already have the Zebra unit installed...People want to know how to install the Printer, then go through the configuration instructions, but it appears most of you out here have hidden agendas and they are all related to money...
Not sure what hidden agenda I could have. Everyone else seems to think my instructions for this install are great. I do have some other videos on this. The only thing missing is downloading and installing the driver from the website
