I used to listen to this back in 1994 on the car stereo in my Chrysler LeBaron convertible as a I sped down the 101 Hollywood Freeway at 10:30pm. It made me feel like King of the World. Glory Days. Try it sometime. You'll see what I mean, man! Life can be a Gem! Cheers!
For as much as they are charging for this album you would think they could at least make sure the label was centered.. Anyone know where this was pressed?
I know these are comments arent always desired, but the sound quality gets dirtier and dirtier till the end of the side ... Your really need a better cartridge when you love your records, just compare the CD-ripped version of hummer (everywhere to find here on youtube) with your version. That this version here sounds "richer" doesnt have to do with "vinyl sound", its just that your cartridge cant follow the groove like it should, which is actually normal on cheaper cartidges as this one. Its really not ment to annoy you, more as a great tip for you. Consider how much money you spend on your records and how less money it'd need for example to buy a vm540ml. (i got the at440mlb, which was much cheaper back then, but the pricier new version also has got a very very cheap price compared to the job it does) Greetings, stonix

@ Vinyls ́s Pleasure Do you still pick up as much white noise from this album since changing out the stylus? I picked this up and have an older Pioneer PL45D with a Ortofon Red OM2... It isn't a crazy amount of white noise, but when I get to tracks like Disarm it's fairly noticeable.
This is not the likely reason why it gets worse and worse towards the centre. Is actually likely that the cartridge is not properly aligned (overhang not set up properly) or that the arm is short and would reveal distortion towards the centre of the record. It could very well be that is due to the higher density of information towards the centre, true. But you can stay away from distortion with something like an AT-120/VM520 - and down to the last bit of the centre if might get sibilant, but that's about it. If you experience distortion with those still, cartridge alignment would be the culprit. Nowadays you really need to push it to get distortion due to a thick cheap stylus (Prob would happen around the $40/$75 cartridges, and that's about it).

Not trying to hate, but wondering what's the point of an analog format being recorded digitally, and then uploaded to utube to be streamed digitally? All that analog dynamic range is lost at that point.
The point is that the vinyl format is mastered differently. It has much more dynamic range. Doesn’t matter if it is analog or digital, only that the engineer who mastered it usually uses much less dynamic range compression.
@@cody5602 but when that vinyl to digital conversion takes place, especially if converting to a format as lossy as mp3, it is definitely compressed alot after being uploaded to CZcams right? I don't think you can upload FLAC to CZcams can you? I mean, the conversion and compression into digital for CZcams basically negates the dynamic range found in the original vinyl.
Mmmm ... a vinyl record has less low freq's and in a linear way up ... more highs, then the pre amp eq of your record player applies a converse eq setting ... more highs and less low freq's .... if you got a digitalized LP ... just apply the same pre amp eq setting using any DAW ... or check your eq in your mp3 player and set a linear (up to down) setting to get the LP sound.

Your really need a better cartridge when you love your records, just compare the CD-ripped version of hummer (everywhere to find here on youtube) with your version.
