I’m a Huge R&B fan especially the ‘70’s & ‘80’s & I’m wondering to myself why I haven’t heard of this song.. First time hearing it.. This is a Damn good song. ..👍🏾
Ralph Carter is a genuine, multi-talented artist, highly intellectual with a humble heart, and very passionate about Africa and African-American culture. I worked with him during the time of this song, bringing he and the ultra talented producer Ray Chew ("Dancing with the Stars") together for a brilliant song originally recorded by Eric Mercury who worked with Ray and Roberta Flack. I thought "Get It Right" was perfect for Ralph. And while this recording was made in the '80s, it resonates stronger than ever today like the message found in "What's Going On" by Marvin Gaye. I know there may be critics who may say what are the comparisons. For those who feel that way, just listen to the lyrics and Ralph's heartfelt delivery. It was a privilege to work with him. John and I send him love. In memory of manager and mentor Jan Burger, RIP.
Today, Sept 16 2015, and I just found out that Ralph Cater actually had songs, albums. I'm a 70's/80's child, so watched and loved Good Times. So this was a surprise. :)
I just found out now October the 11th of 2016😂 I remember the song from the rent party episode but I didn't know that they were promoting the record. I don't like him. Thelma and her exaggerated dancing either. JJ and his non funny ass.
I've just found out 3/5/2017 that Ralph Carter had songs and albums. You're not alone with finding this out many years later. I really like this song. I am glad he does not have any vibrato while singing this song as he did on Good Times.
ralph sang 3-4times on goodtimes(when your young and inlove season 3 finalie, s4 the judy cohen story, s6 thelma's wedding and i believe the final time was a duet with JJ....he could hold a note...but lacked the vocal charisma/it factor to became a main stream artist..
Mary Lane JJ cracked the stalest jokes on the planet and Michael came off as a homosexual to me, but Thelma, oh Thelma, she was a doll! I love to stare at her! Sher IU s perfect in every way!
Loved watching Ralph on Good Times, he was my favorite character since (give or take) we were the same age. Especially loved him singing, "You and I"... still gives me chills. I really like this song and the message! Much love to Ralph Carter!
Brother Carter should have do more movies, plays,& musical. Brother Carter aka Michael Evans aka Miguel aka Militant Midget is a very talented brother my friend.
btw, interesting fact; ralph once told me that bandleader/ musician extraordinaire, ray chew (showtime at the apollo bandleader, etc.) worked on this wonderful song w. him.. true. bravo ralph, & to mr. ray chew, for composing such a timeless masterpiece!!
May 30: Happy birthday Actor-Singer Ralph Carter of "Good Times", "A Raisin In The Sun"; TV Land Impact Award, Drama Desk Award: Most Promising Performer. Thank you and God bless. Thanks for the upload, Raymond Benjamin. Blessings
Ralph Carter was on Broadway starring in the musical raisin as a child that followed by the CBS sitcom good times playing the youngest son of the Evans family and what a talented singer too wow
I feel like he should've reached to Babyface and LA Reid to write some songs for him because he has a Bobby Brown esque voice idk if anyone else hears it
I had a crush on Ralph growing up.. I looked at every episode of Good Times... his other song When you are young and in love is one of my all time favorite...
Well, how much bigger than Good Times would he have gotten? It almost seems like while singers are allowed to have long-lasting acting careers, actors are only allowed or manage to hit with 1 or 2 songs and that's hit.
@Eckgintonwashdc?.....I'm embarrassed to text this. Today is Wednesday, July 11, 2018, the time is 7:19PM CST, and I just found out that Ralph Carter could sing and had made music. And yes, I was around back in the 60's and 70's and grew up with the show Good Times. Wow! Excellent voice.
good brother great song i worked on this song with brother "olu" ralph carter in bklyn (conga's percussion) but this is a studio version i think not the live band that i was with with him. we did a show at manhattan center and they gave us a standing ovation. unfortunately me and the brother had a falling out for some reason and try as i could i could not heal our friendship. but i always wish him well in his challenges. had a fire in my home and lost everything i own which included a studio tape of this song and others he was doing them. like the awesome dance tune "the choice" which i wish was released.
MRMANESH, NO OFFENSE.. BUT, WHY DO YOU SAY THAT YOU;'D 'LIKE TO MEET RALPH. BUT, IF HE WERE GAY'? RALPH IS MY BROTHER. & THOUGH, WE NEVER EVER DISCUSS EACH OTHERS' SEXUALITY.. HE IS A VERY NICE GUY. IT JUST SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE LIMITING YOURSELF FROM MEETING GREAT PEOPLE,'UNLESS THEY ARE GAY'?T SOUNDS LIKE YOU'D ONLY (OR, WOULD 'ESPECIALLY') LIKE TO ONLY MEET HIM, BUT IF HE WERE GAY? UNLESS, YOU'RE MEANING THAT YOU'D LIKE TO MEET HIM FOR SEX? WHICH, IS STILL VERY LIMITING/ SMALL MINDED. I WISH YOU THE VERY BEST.
I've known Ralph for many years. I never questioned his sexuality & I never will. Frankly I don't care. He's always going to be cool to me. Last I saw him was a few weeks ago at my aunt funeral. So if he really is ur bro tell him Eldon said what's up

+Franklin Fuentes sorry for taking so long with a reply but i didn't know that. u replied back. My aunt name was Nannie Kittrell. She lived on the 12th fl for many years. Her & hey sister Bea kittrell who lived on the 11th. I'm not going to place the address of which they lived but I'll say it was in Ralph bldg of which he lives on he 4th fl. It's also a pleasure speaking with u as well
+eldon kittrell i grew up, & still live there too. are your aunts still living there? sure that i'd probably know them by face. my parents came to live there while the building was still under construction. & she was pregnant w. me then. so, i am the exact same age of the building. lol, true. sorry, i don't remember in you/ your fam. knew ralph? if so?.. any message for me to pass to him? always best, franklin f.
+Franklin Fuentes unfortunately they have both passed. But I'm sure u know both of them. If u ask Ralph who's Eldon, he'll tell u. both my father & I have the same name. I'll try to send u a pic so u can see
This song isn't as good as he is. He needed better material than he got. The melody on this tune is awkward, though the chord changes are nice. He's doing his best but this song is just tragic.
So great to be able to hear the wonderful voice of Ralph Carter.
I’m a Huge R&B fan especially the ‘70’s & ‘80’s & I’m wondering to myself why I haven’t heard of this song.. First time hearing it.. This is a Damn good song. ..👍🏾
I was catching some “Good Times” this morning and found this gem after googling Michael.
The world needs a lot more of Ralph Carter.
Beautiful song
Nice song! In fact, the message in this song is so on point. We need to "Get it Right"!
This song is really good.
I love Ralph Carter, he was amazing...WOW!
Great lyrics for our current times 🙌🙇♀️🙌
Good Times continued 💜
How I miss that 80's R&B bass.

What a great song! Should have been a hit. I saw Ralph sing this song on a local dance show in Philadelphia, PA called Dancin' On Air.

I always wondered what happened with his career. He was really talented.
