    OMG! I wish I had seen this tutorial the day it was uploaded! This is by far the best After Effects Keying Tutorial EVER! Nobody on the net truly understands the WHY or WHAT each and every effect in AE does,... this is the best detailed defined illustration of what and why these effects are used for keying.     Been a video editor / post production guy for 15+ years and there were definitely still methods here that were new to me. (Keying has never been my favorite and green screens are still occasionally a pain to deal with, so every little bit helps.)

    I know this is an old post but seriously, you saved my ass. After over 20 years in the industry as a motion graphics designer, I always had an editor on staff that would handle all of our keys for major broadcast work. Now that I have my own design company, I need to be a jack of all trades. I just won a bid for a major client that had a lot of stuff I need to key. The shots are absolutely abysmal and I was having a really hard time with the keys. After watching your video, I have such amazing keys that I am even going to show the client just the key as part of the process, because I am so proud of them. Thanks again!

    this is amazing, i just installed After Effects 2019 and it sure helped a lot, before that I had a lot of issues with getting my greenscreen working, but with the extra tools it now looks perfect! thanks so much

    8:50 pro tip - hold Ctrl while dragging the value for really fine adjustments. (or Shift for big adjustments). Both work when dragging 3D axis as well.

I have been working on my VFX skills for a long time and thus have watched hundreds of videos on green screen keying and this by far was the most educating! I learned at least three new things!     Fantastic! I had very similar problem working on this kind of problem. And I'm so frustrated not because I can't do it but because of the shoot supervisor who was supervising the shoot. Not having good knowledge on how to light and fix chroma during the shoot. And now we are having a hard time fixing all his mistakes. But thank you so much for this great tutorials!

    I did green screen the hard way before I found your video. You really took the time to understand every tool. I wish I saw this before finishing my recent short films. I won several awards at film festivals but a few people pinned me on my keying and said it wasn't up to par. If I had seen this earlier, maybe it would have come out better.

    A good tutorial, like this one here, explains how the different sliders and buttons are working. In many other tuts people just say "Here is that slider. You can see what effect it does an adjust it to your liking." That not helpful to understand - its just try an error whithout knowledge.
    This is the best keying tutorial.
