    Very cool, can you have an extension forward to an external phone number? Trying to figure out how to handle remote employees with our main office being on UniFi Talk

      I have seen a few forum posts that suggest that you can softphones to the unifi talk system with relative ease, with no need for extra numbers or lines. I haven’t seen a way to forward to external numbers thus far but will keep a look out. This might help: www.reddit.com/r/Ubiquiti/comments/p2f4a4/softphone_on_unifi_talk/

    Are you able to setup Unifi VOiP Executive phone with Unifi talk?? If so, how do you do it? My Unifi talk doesn't recognize it.

    Great video…I have been looking at the UniFi Talk products for our new office location and was curious about the inbound/outbound number: can 2 phones dial out at the same time with the single number? Can an inbound call be received with an outbound call in progress?

    How many phones can share a phone number? I think Verizon digital voice limits it to 5 phones can share 1 number.
    Also can one phone have multiple phone numbers with one being the main when they call out?

    So now that we are a month or so in, how are you liking it. I’m thinking of using this as my home phone since I work from home.

    • @simple_networks
      @simple_networks  Před 2 lety

      So far I’m liking it, I will be moving our entire office over to it in December so I will have a video about that coming hopefully before the end of the year. I think a work from home application would be great, as long as you can stick within the 3,000 minute/month threshold!

    Does anyone know if the unifi talk system/phones can be used in remote offices or on the road as the Yealink T27Gs can?

  • @jbsbgb
    @jbsbgb Před 2 lety +1

    Thanks for the video. I have set it all up... Everything works except - I need someone to be able to call in on our main line and then dial the extension of a user and have the call forward to just their phone. I can add them individually to my auto attendant, but that makes it so that I would need to add 20 people to that which is ridiculous, that would be more of a directory. HOW DO I DO THIS?? Have you gotten it to work?

    • @simple_networks
      @simple_networks  Před 2 lety

      Theoretically, you should be able to dial any extension when the auto attendant picks up (without having to add it to the auto-attendant) . What happens if you call the line, and then when the auto-attendant starts talking you dial an extension?

    • @simple_networks
      @simple_networks  Před 2 lety

      Hey! You may have figured this out already, but I just noticed that unifi added "Extension Dialing" to the smart attendant, which let's you dial any extension without having to add that extension to the smart attendant's menu. I immediately thought of your comment when I saw that!

    Can you user other SIP providers and other phones with talk like yealink so we dont need to replace old one?

    • @simple_networks
      @simple_networks  Před 2 lety

      Yes, you can add third party SIP providers through an option in the system settings. As for adding third party phones, I have seen write ups on the unifi fourm from people saying they were able to do so, with other commenters confirming they could as well. While I haven’t done it myself, it appears as though it’s possible.
