Hey Folks, Sorry about the audio in this video! I am working on getting a better audio situation figured out, but I wanted to get this video out asap!
I'll be doing this in a few weeks great timing thanks!
Thank you for the video on this new system.
Outstnding video… helped more than any other
I'm glad to hear that, thanks for the feedback!
Nice video, I am wondering if unifi talk is compatible to GSM networks
Very cool, can you have an extension forward to an external phone number? Trying to figure out how to handle remote employees with our main office being on UniFi Talk
I have seen a few forum posts that suggest that you can softphones to the unifi talk system with relative ease, with no need for extra numbers or lines. I haven’t seen a way to forward to external numbers thus far but will keep a look out. This might help: www.reddit.com/r/Ubiquiti/comments/p2f4a4/softphone_on_unifi_talk/
Are you able to setup Unifi VOiP Executive phone with Unifi talk?? If so, how do you do it? My Unifi talk doesn't recognize it.
Great video…I have been looking at the UniFi Talk products for our new office location and was curious about the inbound/outbound number: can 2 phones dial out at the same time with the single number? Can an inbound call be received with an outbound call in progress?
Yes and yes! Just confirmed on my system.
@@simple_networks nice…thanks for testing it out!
How many phones can share a phone number? I think Verizon digital voice limits it to 5 phones can share 1 number.
Also can one phone have multiple phone numbers with one being the main when they call out?
Can a group of phones have multiple numbers / lines assigned? Can a number be shared between two or more groups as a first come first serve basis?
So now that we are a month or so in, how are you liking it. I’m thinking of using this as my home phone since I work from home.
So far I’m liking it, I will be moving our entire office over to it in December so I will have a video about that coming hopefully before the end of the year. I think a work from home application would be great, as long as you can stick within the 3,000 minute/month threshold!
Does anyone know if the unifi talk system/phones can be used in remote offices or on the road as the Yealink T27Gs can?
With a site to site VPN, probably.
Thanks for the video. I have set it all up... Everything works except - I need someone to be able to call in on our main line and then dial the extension of a user and have the call forward to just their phone. I can add them individually to my auto attendant, but that makes it so that I would need to add 20 people to that which is ridiculous, that would be more of a directory. HOW DO I DO THIS?? Have you gotten it to work?
Theoretically, you should be able to dial any extension when the auto attendant picks up (without having to add it to the auto-attendant) . What happens if you call the line, and then when the auto-attendant starts talking you dial an extension?
Hey! You may have figured this out already, but I just noticed that unifi added "Extension Dialing" to the smart attendant, which let's you dial any extension without having to add that extension to the smart attendant's menu. I immediately thought of your comment when I saw that!
Can you user other SIP providers and other phones with talk like yealink so we dont need to replace old one?
Yes, you can add third party SIP providers through an option in the system settings. As for adding third party phones, I have seen write ups on the unifi fourm from people saying they were able to do so, with other commenters confirming they could as well. While I haven’t done it myself, it appears as though it’s possible.
@@simple_networks thanks
I'd be interested to see how they can offer this service in Canada
As would I!
What about Voice Mail?
I’d like to try this out with a customer, but a little fearful of the number porting process with a new voice provider like Ubiquiti
That’s a good point! I will be doing this with my companies phone system soon so I will definitely include that process in my full review.
It's. Not ready. I won't use with clients yet. I want to but it's giving us fits at out office
@@jasondoane6542 What are the downsides you’re running into in an office scenario?
@@juanpinto5743 Well, every few weeks one phone will just stop conecting. It con tsantly says it needs an update in the controller . We update and it works fo a day or so then wont.
The other phone will work constantly . I thought it may be 1 bad phone but it rotates between phones . SOmetimes it works perfectly for a few weeks and we think its fine and then we repeat. I unplugged it a few months ago and havent had the time to mess with it. Hopefully theyll work out the bugs and get multi location going.
@@jasondoane6542 That sounds a like a pain, and the type if system that would give a small business nightmares if it constantly needs attention
Does this phone system have a hands free intercom from too-to-room?
Sorry Room-to-Room
Not that I know of. You can dial from internal extension to extension. You would have to physically dial it though or save it as a quick dial.
Bought a touch. Never could get it to receive calls. Worked with support for two weeks. I was told I needed to get a public Static IP from my provider. Does not make much sense to me. Will be returning phone.
I have the opposite issues I can receive calls but not make them
@@bionickoolaid Crazy. Called my internet provider and they changed something called a NAT setting. I have really no idea what that is but best I can understand it is some sort of ISP firewall so they can reuse their internal IP address more. I am sure that is not a good explanation but will see if it works. Returned the phone so waiting for another. Sorry that probable doesn't help you much.
I appreciate the conversation being had here, it’s very helpful info! I am curious to know whether you guys are using external SIP providers or a unifi talk subscription.
@@simple_networks I am using a Unifi talk subscription. Ordered another phone. If things still don't work I came across this and will give it a try. czcams.com/video/lK9Xt8UOUEo/video.html
@@simple_networks Well, got the new phone, disabled sip/alg and I can now make and receive calls but voice mail does not pickup. It is turned on in the app.
can you dial out same time?
Yes!
Any hold music?
Yes, you can upload custom hold music in the settings or use their presets!
@@simple_networks hello Opus No. 1 😂
Ours stops working sporadically. Takes a reboot and firmware upgrade to fix....sometimes.
Does the whole system go down or is just the external line?
@@simple_networks Just 1 phone usually. Sometime the whole thing.
Open the box and throw it away. Who cares about the package.
Lol, add it to your doorbell you stooge
