"I feel like you can pick up a PSP for like 10 bucks" Lol says someone who clearly hasn't looked at used video game prices in over 5 years.
As someone who knows A lot about these Chinese fake consoles this video hurts me
lol that's what I was thinking. Anbernic makes some decent devices
Same..
Agreed. I wouldn't really mind if it weren't for the fact that they confidently evaluated them as if they knew what they were talking about, and people new to the retro handheld scene could be misled. The $10 device is definitely not what I would reccomend as a "bang for your buck" retro console. It's going to feel very cheap, and only a fraction of the games will be unique and playable. If you spend a bit more you can get something that functions leagues better, supports more complex emulators, and has an expandable library of games.
@@overthinking1843 Products don’t have to be perfect (or even great) in order to be fun. Good enough is a thing. Ten dollars is nothing compared to $200-300 for something like a Nintendo Switch/Switch Lite plus $60 for game. Naturally you get what you pay for, though.
How does it hurt
He seriously put the best retro handheld out right now in last place🤦♂️
It was painful to see them plug in into the TV OUT and then wonder why the screen was off.
You should do more research on these devices before you review them. The Anbernic 351p is leagues above the other two. Thus why it costs more. At the same time PSP / Dreamcast emulation is really where it tops out at.
Agreed. I've delved into a bit of an obsession with retro handhelds and I don't think this review did the Anbernic justice. The processing power, quality control, build quality, and community for Anbernic devices are much much better than the others. It is difficult to run PS1 games and I find it surprising that they claimed the cheap and generally shitty $10 one was better, especially since I'd bet that there aren't actually 400 games and it repeats games several times. Playing a single game of Super Mario Bros doesn't say much about the device. Not to mention that they are highly underestimating the worth of this kind of the device. A used PSP does NOT go for $10... in fact in good condition they can cost twice the amount the Anbernic did. I think the reason they rated some of the nicer ones worse is because they incorrectly assumed that you can get mid-range Anbernic level processing power and quality for an impossibly cheap price.
I liked the video's format and I don't mean to bash them, but I wish they did a bit more research before confidently reviewing products negatively.
@@overthinking1843 I would be surprised if Anbernic’s products aren’t making a fair bit of profit, though. If they were sold for $75-85 instead of ~$100 they probably wouldn’t be losing money.
Yeah, they seem biased, the game they played isn't the best on the device.
But you could already tell apart the quality build from the get go already, even when they have the device on their hands.
I mean come on the UI already worlds apart.
i mean to be fair they called the vita psp and left the video cable in and wondered why it doesnt work
The Anbernic is actually the best one, you don't know how heavy PSP and Dreamcast games are. It runs PS1 perfectly fine, and it's not easy to find a 100$ device that is able to do it.
A psp can run all that and n64 for 30 usd
Does the anbernic come preloaded with all the games? I have no way to get them on there
@@johnduncan7718 yeah they give you a 64GB micro SD card loaded with a bunch of ROMS, if you ever do get a SD card reader, it’s also really easy to load more games onto it, and the community support for the device is crazy when it comes to custom firmware
Psp can run every emulator (except capcom 3) perfect fine.
@@aqwsderxz
The cheapest PSP I can find is $100.
You do know that cheap 10$ handheld can only play preset games right?
The other two, you can download the games somewhere and put it there.
That's already worth the money rather than the 10$ one, but I guess you can just throw 10$ anytime.
Anbernic is actually quality and now becoming a trusted brand
8:04 "It has a insertable Micro USB."
... go on, I'm listening...
lol prepare to be disappointed.
I don't think you can buy a second hand switch for 100 dollars.
Or a secondhand PSP for $10.
That Anbernic is actually a really good device If you're Looking for a retro gaming machine they're awesome And it's nice because they work out of the Box
the first "gameboy" I have one like it and when the battery is low the screen dims more and more so charging it makes it pretty bright
Same and I like it to
Me too
Was that first “game boy” thing playing a midi version of Despcacito?! Lol.
it shows that you do not care about these handheld device and it hurts to see.
the 100 doller one is probably the best bang for the buck you just gotta upload the custom firmware first.
Yeah I’m sure you can play around with settings to make it run smooth
@@casketman14 100%
@@overthinking1843 the RG351P has custom firmware and a micro SD slot
@@keithbiz85 oh oops lol, I must have replied to the wrong comment. I was talking about the crappy >$10 one
So it doesn’t work well without uploading?
Didn't see a lot of content about them? There are entire channels, such as Wicked Gamer and Collector, that are pretty much dedicated to devices such as these.
Yep. ETA Prime and Retro Dodo, just to name a few, have lots of videos about similar devices.
@@alexandertm-2908 Retro Game Corp and Taki Udon to mention two more.
This is the first Toasty Bros video I've watched where they've clearly put no effort into it.
Exactly. This is the wrong lane for these gentlemen.
I like what you guys are trying to do ..but you both have a lot to work on these videos
The Anbernic RG351P looks really similar to the Retroid Pocket 2
How?
now you gotta doo a video on sub 200 handhelds that are actually good
Video idea: mic and boom arm kit on amazon under $50
i have that bm-800 what is cheap mic + arm set on amazon wish ebay etc. its pretty good sound actually but it take every sound in room. arm is little bit broken i dont know did i got only bad luck or what but it work still and i believe that i had only bad lucky cause it is metal arm
buy the sudotack st-800. best mic/arm combo at that price that I've found. I have a mic comparison video where you can hear it
If I wanted to see somebody review these who didn't know anything about them I'd gift one to my cousin. Also a psp for $10 is absolutely insane.
Agreed. PSPs go for ~$150 to $200. I wish the reviewers did a bit more research.
@@overthinking1843 Can be less than that, honestly. My guess would be $75-150 as a common range, depending on condition. - The PS Vita is a different story.
Plus the dorky gasp when they saw the rudimentary Pokemon games. The noob sauce was too thick here
10:44 this is a japanese Famicom controller knockoff, the Famicom also known as the Family Computer was the NES for japan. it came with these.
That first console was probably old stock of 8-bit consoles made around 2010 for Third World countries. Cheapest plastic and speaker, inside you would find "logic" in epoxy blob, all that was needed to put 8-bit processor and games from 1980s. They would usually come with cinch (RCA) TV cables for old cathode ray TVs that could be still found in those countries (also dirt cheap by that time) . They would also sometimes include controller(s) and/or charging adapters, so they could be used as home console. Overall, kinda sad end of 8-bit era, today they are not interesting to many people, shady merchants on Aliexpress or Wish sell them for few bucks although they probably bought them in bulk by weight.
I don't see these $10 devices as a sad end to the 8-bit era as i don't believe many people see these $10 gaming devices as the final step in 8-bit gaming, I personally don't even consider these devices lol, imo any device that when you boot it up you are forced to choose between Engrish or Chinese with NO ability to add roms or a different firmware thats loaded with clones of games and repeats are just junk, If you can't change the firmware or add new roms to it it's not worth the headache or money, save that $10 and invest it in an RG300 or a V90 if you can't afford more than $40-50, THOSE are the devices that bring back to life and are a testament to the awesomeness that was 80's gaming.
@@bigemugamer Well, unfortunately, like it or not , they are final step in 8-bit era. Since they do have 8-bit processors and architecture, and they do run native 8-bit code . After that no one produced 8-bit gaming machines on industrial scale, all that came was emulation. As I said, they were not meant for US market, they were sold in Third World countries around 2010. Today they are mostly junk sold for few bucks, and collector's items since even the poorest kids would have some kind of Android device with better games than this.
Where are the $10 psps ? I want one
Same
Hi I would like to know if I buy 2 of those and wanna do a multiplayer game those consoles require wire? Or any of those are wireless? 10:51
How could you make a video about something you know so little about. I enjoy your budget P.C videos. You could have watched at least a 10min youtube video about handheld gaming before admitting that you don't know stuff.
i actually have a gameboy like that but its white and thinner. it has 500 games, got it for christmas 2 years ago .
FIVE HUNDRED? Dude i wish i had that
I'll be watching your videos long after I've stepped away from CZcams.
Please I have a question to ask does these Anbernic Game Console Support Mk Mortal Kombat
I’ve been looking for this video! I watched it on my different device.
You can tell when someone’s spent less than an hour of effort making a video. Literally 30 seconds on ebay would’ve shown that a $10 PSP straight up doesn't exist
Hope everyone is excited for Christmas 🎅
Not really. Just another working day for me.
“This thing is spinning around on my finger”
*DUDE! YOU ARE RUBBING YOUR FINGER ON IT, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT IT TO DO?*
Tbh this is top five retro handhelds :

ROG Ally.
Hi guys i have a question i am buying a gaming machine and having trouble on what to choose a i7 11gen laptop with a 3060 or a ryzen 5 3600 and 1660ti desktop.
Yeah buy it 👍
Just bought a portable console for about 200$ (with 4k+ games, 4500 mAh battery, 4GB RAM, 256 GB memory + up to 2TB with card) from Aliexpress…waiting to arrive :) 400$+ for a Nintendo Switch is a bit expensive for what it offers; not to mention that you’ll need to get an SD card and buy each game you want to play; you better get a PS5 for that money lol, but a 100-200$ console is great in terms of what are you paying for and what you are gettin’. Congrats for this clip folks.
Was this just an ad for the anbernic rg351v??
The ANBERNIC is an amazing system, but these do struggle with psp, N64 and Dreamcast, the rest work great.
The Anbernic has an great following and these things are plug and play, for those who feel setting up a retro system and software is a pain and complex.
Retro gaming, either stuck with these or go expensive pc's to play everything.
It's s bit much for these to play the later systems, like n64, Dreamcast and psp, which are hard to emmulate at the best of times.
The anbernic you showed are very popular systems and out of the box are not really optimized and stuff just slapped on, but with better emmulators can run better than out of the box.
Even if you used an nvida shield some of these games still struggle.
$100 the anbernic is a good system. I have the RG351V by ANBERNIC and a great little retro box and a good 95% of the games work well.
Even if 90% or 80% work it's a great system, but these are using low powered chipsets afterall
lol anyone who watches ETAPRIME, Taki Udon, Retro Dodo, Wicked Gamer & Collector, etc. can easily tell these guy have never... NEVER handled a retro gaming device in their life.
But... the guy who bought the RG351P KNEW what he was purchasing, he was like, "so we're doing a video on CHEAP ass retro gaming devices? Ok, I'll find and buy 2 crappy ones then just... toss the +$100 RG351P in there cause I REALLY want that handheld as someone once mentioned it to me as a great device." considering the title of this video they should have bought the powkiddy v90, IMO one of the best CHEAP devices out there.
NOBODY does a "cheap" retro gaming device video but then goes out of their way to buy quite possibly the best bang for your buck in an RG351P.
Of ALL the "cheap retro gaming device" video's on You Tube, and there's quite a few, nobody just "randomly" tossed a $100 device in the mix... that just doesn't happen. =P
So you bought 2 crappy devices and one ballin' device.... WHO IS THIS VIDEO FOR and why does it exist?? =/
Anbernic and powkiddy are straight up fire can't wait to get one
Can we get Android gaming device testing
PSP is like 100
"it's probably like $10" obviously hasn't done any research, just talking
And often ~$200 for one in good condition
Where do i get the batterys for it
Also bro seriously?
You used a 4/3 screen to play PSP?
You could've played dreamcast or Playstation the performance is actually great in the anbernic devices they have good quality controls, also I recommend buying the RK2023 (it's good for a starter handheld.
hey can you guys review the Super Console X PRO Classic Retro Game Console
I saw the title cheap I was like ok but then I saw anbernic
You guys saved me a hundred bucks thank you!
The 10$ gameboy ko is not the best value.
The controls do not work well, making it virtually impossible to beat even one level of a game.
If the control's weren't so bad than it would win hands down, with controls that bad it's a glorified video paper weight.
On that so called 'SUP' Gameboy the control are unusual, NES B=Y, NES A=B. I have one and modded it to make sure controls are correct
Also those stuff suffered from 2nd player control problems
Great video, guys. Nice to see you expanding. BTW, Rush'N Attack is an NES game.
I just bought your first one for $2.38 and shipping. Yay!
PSPs around me are expensive to 150 is the lowest so I honestly would have this just based on me not wanting to buy games after buying the psp
God that first one for 1 euro and 50 cents on aliexpress 😂😂
Good Lord unplug the freaking video cable already lol
I don't want to see adverts. That's why I have a blocker. Put at end
Lol I just wanna know if it plays the old school pokemon
Lol they had no clue about any emulation handheld...
Anbernic products are high quality I'd even say a step above powkiddy and nothing like the first 2 cheap crappy handhelds you show. The market is flooded with these because nobody wants them especially the black lookalike Gameboy with the same set of repeating NES games that are programmed onto 100 other variations of dirt cheap Chinese handhelds.
try removing the rca cable from the fake gameboy
I didn't realize Seth Rogan does product reviews. 😂
Does the kings reply?
If anyone reading this is interested in cheap Retro Gaming watch Taki Udon, ETA Prime or Wolff den they know way more than the brothers of toast LOL!
i found a console that was 50 cents.... no joke
This dude called a micro sd card a micro USB -_-
the 10 dollar gameboy type item is something i would actually buy
I bought that for my wife … izzzz a ok
@@seetheanimal5867 WOW, you must hate your wife. Hundreds of options out there and she gets the cheapest which in this case IS also actually the worst.
if the $10 price tag is the only reason you would buy a portable retro gaming device, then why would you buy one? do you like being disappointed with cheap purchases, would you actually play with it. or is it because as a teenage you don't have a job and your allowance is like... $5 a week (that was mine back in the day lol) well don't worry my young friend, when you turn 18 and get a job and actually start making money you can get something better. I'd suggest a Q90 or V90 (just bought new black V90, GREAT budget device with mature custom firmware and TF card slot) you'll discover a WORLD of distance paying $40 for a V90 over the $10 abomination you'll hate after 10 mins. ;)

The only thing I learned after watching this video is that you have no ability to recommend these kind of devices. You don't even know what each one is doing. The $10 is a device that can only run 8-bit games from the first NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) Wich control is replicated from Japanese version of it called Famicom. And that's because it's practically a piece of hardware that has a NES ROM chip inside. It's an inexpensive device whit toy materials. It's crosshead is terrible quality, so complex game mechanics are difficult to achieve. The other buttons are decently responsive but nothing remarkable. The other $15 device, depending on its version, either does the same thing or expands it to 16 bits, i.e. Super Nintendo games or similar and it's the same crap build quality (both of them are made for little kids). And the Anbernics is an emulator system, that is, it doesn't have dedicated hardware. It has a hardware with enough power to run different game system through software. From the oldest consoles such Atari 5200 to Nintendo 64. It's a little gem with you can enjoy almost more than a half games history and is not for little kids, it's for teenagers to higher.
I think by now, everyone knows the games lists are stupid and just want to know if you can add your own roms.
I can feel the Anbernic fanboys descending on your comments section as we speak…
Given the quality of this video I'd find it hard to blame them. The TB usually give decent consumer advice but their efforts here are just laughable as they've clearly put so little effort into looking into what the devices can do.
I don’t think people should be labelled “fanboys” for trying to correct blatant misinformation…
a play station portable is 200 dollars 💀
I love how bro said an anbernic product is not worth 30$ dude most retro emulation consoles can’t even do ps1 much less psp or GameCube research before you make som bold claims like that
