    Great video. A shame they had to put that diesel loco onto the end of it but I'm aware of the reason (so few turntables).

    lack of turntables resulted in the diesel is attached to steam trains at rear...
    it is still great to see old diesels but I am prefer some pure steam locomotions... and pure diesel locomotions as well of course

      Frank Han the diesel is on the end to firstly help secondly in case of an emergency and also the steam train aren’t aloud on mainline by them selves it’s a safety precautions because it’s a steam train and could run out of coal on mainline see and how there’s now water or coal depots for the steam train it’s not about turntables u only see them mostly on heritage lines now ok 😀

      lego 32159 Steam trains are regularly out by themselves on the mainline without any diesels (especially by carnforth), the only reason this tour had a diesel was due to the loco not being able to be turned around at lime street (no turntables)

      @@rabg7479 not difficult to get a lorry with HIAB loading coal onto a tender almost anywhere without overhead wires.
