The British definitely have some weird food and I've been here 28 years 🤣🤣 but there's nothing better than fish or scami with chips at the sea side/beach 🌊
as a british person, seeing people try our food for the first time always makes me laugh (mainly bc i can't fathom the idea that people have never had fish n' chips before bc i grew up eating it like 2 or 3 times a week)
also we pickle literally anything and everything lol, or make it into a jam
they improved so much in english and are more fluent now than last time
I saw you day 1 at the Ateez concert last year. You were in my same row, I looked up and said oh it’s you, and kept going 😂😂😂. I was so flustered, I was running late, I lost my light stick 2 mins after buying it, thankfully a worker found it. Lol
When you order fish and chips in the shop to take away that's legit how much salt and vinegar they put on it for you 😂. Avoid the pickled shit 🤢, the rest is gorgeous. Even mushy peas, they're kinda sweet!

My chippy order is chips (lots of salt and vinegar) , jumbo sausage (don’t like battered sausage and don’t wanna eat a saveloy) and a pot of curry sauce. I love pickled onions but would never get one from a chip shop. Can’t get on board with mushy peas 😂
If you do come to England and get fish and chips imo the best are at the seaside or in the West Midlands preferably from a small chip shop. Not a restaurant. You want to eat it out of the paper

Nooo the amount of salt he put on that hurt me and I'm British and the vinger goes first so the salt sticks to the vinger and you don't need so much of it 😭😭

fish and chips is usually a Friday night dinner for my family and we usually have curry sauce or super sauce (spiced chicken gravy) with it.
This is why I love them so much…Lol some of it was a little weird but honestly, fish and chips is freaking delish! Just lay off the salt/vinegar and go straight for the tartar sauce.
Fish and Chips is also a big thing here in South Africa lol, its the best if you know where to buy.

i went to this restaurant when i was in london recently!! (because of this video🤫) it was really good i loved it!! very big portions, but maybe i just eat very little😅
mushy peas tend to be gross because for some reason it's usually made from tinned peas that look like they died of malnutrition. fish & chips are pretty good when it's fresh. the pickled stuff isn't all that common imo but chips in gravy or curry sauce definitely is. as a ~traditional~ thing it's usually eaten on a friday but not suuuuper often these days as it can be pretty pricey in some places.
Fish and chips and the battered sausage and scampi is the best. Curry sauce and gravy too. Ngl idk anyone here that gets the pickles lmao and the red sausage thing I've never even seen before so it's not common. I personally love mushy peas but loads of people don't so that can be personal taste. He deffo put wayyyyy too much salt though
I'm English and some of these I hate, not everyone likes mushy peas or vinegar and definitely not that much salt. And tartar sauce, there's many "British staples" I don't like. I also don't see that many fish and chip shops selling battered sausage, pickles/pickled gerkhins and onions but maybe that's just my area.
Honestly as an American that visited the UK that is legit the amount of salt you have to put on the food... their salt isnt very salty at all for some reason. I told myself if I go back I am packing my own salt because they dont salt anything at all, and the table salt has no flavor, lol.
If you get rock salt then it has a lot of flavour, it rlly depends on what salt brand it is ngl
its better fresh by the sea though, also its making me realise how dull our national food is lmao

ngl as an american i really like mushy peas even though i totally get how people could hate them because all the different kinds i’ve had have a distinct metallic taste that can easily become unpleasant
