Dr. Pitre is another one of God’s instruments providing us with a depth and knowledge that have been hidden under piles of secular rubbish, so we can receive the Gospel with a refreshed view like that of the first century Jewish person!

I read a book of 40 Parables and learned more about Jesus and why he taught only in Parables to the public then 51 years of different churches
for me it's a privilege to hear Dr. Pitre's explanation of this odd parable; he's one of the best biblical scholars around
3 years exactly since you recorded this look at The Parable of the Wicked Tenants in Matthew 21, and its connections with The Vineyard of the Lord in Isaiah 5 and one of the Psalms chanted at Passover. It's the 27 th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year A, yet again this Sunday, so same biblical passages as when you recorded. I like the 3 year cycle. I half knew and had also half forgotten the teachings and insights you were offering. Lovely to hear them fleshed out again in a very interesting way. Thankyou.

As all the Temple rites and sacrifices came to nothing after it fell in 70 AD, so, too, all the meditations and remembrances of Jesus' words, deeds and prayers emerged from the same ashes with profound new clarity. The sacrificial covenant of Moses ends; the Mass arises from its 40 years of apostolic memorials, agapes, Seders, mikvahs, and mysteries; the canon of the New Testament takes its time stamp; and the tripartite liturgical offices of the Temple are impressed onto the church.
Didn't know that Jewish tradition included Isaiah being cut in half and Jeremiah being stoned. Thanks, Dr. Pitre! By the way, for those who believe that interpretation, to which prophet was Jesus referring when He said the one they beat?

I just had a revelation. Jesus is the new Temple the Jews are waiting for thus the Church His body is also the new temple. For the Evangelicals waiting for the third temple to be built to usher the second coming of Christ there is no need for it because Jesus already raised it up on the third day. Rapture theology is erroneous in my humble opinion.
St. Paul talks about the Church (the Body of Christ) aka you and me (Born again/Baptized Christians) being the Temple of the Living God.

It's obvious. The vineyard is Israel, the owner is God, the tenants are the Jews, the son is Jesus.

Isaiah made no " allegory." Isaiah was a prophet of God writing the prophesy given to him by God. Pitre has no clue.
